Well planned open site, have to say the pub is the main attraction small play area for kids nothing special. The marina is not very attractive so do go if this is your thing. The road outside is very busy, but have to say it did not bother us Where we were pitched. On the other side of the site is the railway but again this is not really a problem. In fact you could use it to Get around as the station is a short walk away.Toilets and showers are passable but on a very annoying code system. Also you have to buy tokens for a shower 50p. We thought this was a bit of a rip off as it was a very basic site and not that cheap. Staff could do with some customer relations training a smile cost nothing but is worth its weight in gold. Hookups for c/vans m/homes but not tents. Shop provides for basic needs.Decent food at the pub and friendly staff . Sunday lunch available. In arundel itself has a fantastic castle and cathedral which you cannot miss, and some beautiful surrounding countryside. Off course brighton is not that far away if you need to let the kids go mad for the day. Dogs allowed on the site. Some sites down here don't.

Nice level, well maintained site but. Expensive at £19 per night for two adults, two children (13 & 15), one tent and one car. Was surprised to have to pay 50p per shower on top. The toilets and showers were mediocre, if you could remember the six digit code to enter! The friendly on-site pub provided good food at reasonable prices but expensive drinks as two cokes and two ordinary lagers came to £9.60. The site's occupants were silent by 10:30, probably to allow you to hear the trains and traffic better! We had invited a relative and his wife, who lived locally, around to see our new tent but they declined when told that it would cost them £2 each to visit. This site is situated nicely between Littlehampton and Arundel. A pleasant walk along the towpath on the River Arun would probably take about an hour in either direction. Overall, it is quite a nice, basic site but quite costly.

This was our 2nd visit to the site, and again we had good weather. We found the pub good, and found the food excellent (have used the pub before without camping), as we often pass it. Last year did find the staff very hasty to clear pitch as my van broke down and had to call the AA, well before the noon departure time. Couldn't seem to comprehend that I couldn't give a time of clearing pitch until my vehicle was got going, which was about an hour before I should have cleared. Had planned to stay there for the may bank Holiday but unfortunalty my 82 year old father had to go in Hospital suddenly so we cancelled, that day. Despite that the didnt seem sympathetic and wouldn't allow us to reuse the deposit at a later date despite phoning them as requested. Bet they managed to re let the pitch though All in all,we like the site but find the staff abit unflexible ,will certainly use again though

I thought it was very good if it's the first time you are going camping, even though the washing facilities weren't very good. The darts board and pool table at the pub were very good. It was a bit boring there though. I went on the 29th July until 31st July. The toilets were grotty and you also had to pay for the shower.

May 2005 We spent the May bank holiday here and is was very busy. The staff were very helpful and the site clean and well kept. A small shop seemed to sell everything you could possibly need. The pub was a disappointment though and the food was edible but nothing exciting. The children were disappointed that they were deemed too old by the staff to play in the small play area. The only other facility for them was a footy pitch. Expensive site for facilities available, bath/shower charged as was hair dryer and power point in toilets. Redeemed only by lovely Arundel which had lots to see and do

April 2005 This campsite is ok, but not great. It served our basic needs, so only left us with a mild sense of disappointment. We paid £13 for a single tent, no car. On top of this, you have to pay 50p for a shower in a small grass-strewn cubicle.
There's a small shop with the basics, although it is quite pricey. The lady on reception was very pleasant, but gave me the impression that any minor infraction on camping etiquette would be punishable using physical means.
The site is right by the river, although you can't see it. This is probably just as well as it's not that pretty - a murky, reinforced channel with the occasional lost gull. We did see a heron, which was nice.
The train station is conveniently close - just over 5 minutes walk. You can hear the trains, but contrary to other reviewers I didn't find this annoying and found their rappity-rapping quite soothing. I didn't hear any trains at night. Why no mention of the adjacent fast road that constantly hums with smelly traffic? It's hard to escape the road within the site, which is basically a flat triangle with the road along the hypoteneuse.
There's not much in nearby Ford, but the lovely Arundel is about 90 minutes stroll along the river dyke. Once on the dyke it's very pleasant, with bright yellow oilseed rape fields, and no noise from the distant road.

June 2004 Just called in to look at this site. Believe it is camping and caravanning site. Situated in rural surroundings on the west bank of the River Arun, about 2 miles from Arundel and Littlehampton. One field purely for caravans, another 2 fields for tents and caravans. Electric hookup available. Looked like a pleasant site,. Ship and Anchor pub in the grounds (free house) caters for families, also served take aways. River arun 5 minutes down small path by pub. You can fish down river from the campsite, no permit needed for river fishing. Sea fishing parties can be arranged with local boats. Winter storage of caravans can be arranged. Also slipway for boats by arrangement with site users. Can`t actually see the river from the campsite. Site shop all usual facilities. Looks pleasant.

August 2003 The cost of a night's camping at this site is a lot to pay for basic facilities. The showers cost extra as does having your ice packs put in the shop freezer. The pub sells fine ales and nice food but again pricy. The gate to the site closes at 2100 hours although you can park your car nearby.

August 2003 There are a number of factors which in our opinion let this site down. 1) There is no booking system which means that if busy you may be turned away, which if you have driven quite a way is not really a good start. 2) We stayed when the site was full which (based on site stats) is 160 pitches. The only dish washing area consists of 4 sinks with one tap per 2 sinks (queues morning & evening). The only toilet block (very tired and not particularly clean) had 12 toilets and 3 showers per sex - this meant long queues for the showers in the morning (for which you have to buy a 50p shower token).
On the positive side, the on-site shop seemed fairly well stocked and the shop staff were friendly.

june 2003 Well kept site with lots of space to spread out. Handy for Arundel where we took a boat out on the river. There was a well-behaved invasion of rowers one night and I understand divers also use the site as a base for the Solent. Pub adjacent, so not likely to lose your way back! The river by the site is not as nice as hoped, and there's some noise from the busy railway line which is not close, but close enough to annoy. It's also a bit pricey for what you get, but all in all a 'thumbs up' from our family.
