My wife and I and our greyhound have just returned after four nights at Hendre Mynach. We truly enjoyed ourselves and the site is really established with a relaxed family atmosphere.
The campsite was nearly full but it was not noisy. Wardens are around during the day and at night it is completely silent by 10pm.
We had electric so was in the middle section, a few minutes walk from the reception, toilets and showers. If you are in a tent without electric you will be in the far field so it is a little further. Site is really nice and flat. The toilet block was always clean whether it be first thing in the morning, afternoon or late in the evening.
The shop stocks the essentials, is fairly expensive but this is to be expected. The lady in the shop was really friendly, gave lots of advice about the local area and was always happy to help.
Barmouth is not far away and we, like many of the campers walked along the promenade to get there. The beach has lots of dog friendly parts and is literally at the back of the site.
The only things to consider is, the water pressure in the showers is not always great and sometimes not that hot. The wifi is expensive and does not work anymore than 30 metres away from reception. There is a train track behind the site and there is a train that passes every 30minutes. It's not a bad thing but the last train passes, with a long and loud horn at 22. 35 if you have young children. It didn't bother us though.
We are hoping to go back in the summer, it's a wonderful site.

After only getting our new van a few days before the bank holiday weekend, we knew that it would be near impossible to book anywhere - and not for the one night we wanted to start off with.
We had been here before in a tent and on the Sunday decided to give it a go and drove the 100 miles or so to get there.
We pulled up (after coming down the steep slope into the site) and asked about any possible spare pitches. As it happens, we were in luck - although they didn't have any with EHU. This didn't bother us so we readily agreed.
We were advised as to where we could look to choose a pitch, and we went up to the left (as you come in) of the site which does have a decent view of the sea.
The site itself is immaculate and only a short walk from the town centre (along the beach). Yes, there is a railway next to it, but we only noticed 1 train go past!
Would I recommend? Most definitely.

My husband and I have just returned from our first child free holiday at this campsite. I cannot believe we haven't been here before with the children!
The drive to the site was breathtaking and we had a good feel about the area.
The staff were very helpful on our arrival and the pitch was one of the flattest we have been on and clearly marked. The shower and toilet facilities were spot on.
The walk into Barmouth was a nice 20 min stroll down the promenade and we enjoyed it every day! Barmouth town centre was great with something for everyone!
We will be back and have already recommended this site to friends.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at this site. No views from the site but sheltered. It is convenient for a walk into town takes about 20 minutes along the prom and the beach is very near. The beach is flat and dog friendly. Went for a coffee at Davy Joners Locker- good coffee and dog friendly
The site staff are friendly and helpful. Only criticism is that some of the showers did not have full pressure due to leaks, but apart from that no gripes. Serviced pitches and a lovely quiet site at this time of year- well recommended.

We stayed here for a week of mixed weather. The hard standings drained well, though the camping fields seemed to hold water.
Facilities were generally very good, though more hand driers would be welcome, as would slightly hotter showers.
Pubs wise would recommend Min-y-Mor (nearest, along the promenade) and The Last Inn (in the town centre).
The beach is nearby, which the dogs loved. The train track which is adjacent to the site wasn't that much of a problem from a noise point of view.
It's a shame that you can't see the sea from the site.
The wardens were very helpful and friendly. The on site takeaway never seemed to be open.

Our first visit to this site was in mid September for two weeks, when the weather was very changeable. We can't heap enough praise on the management and staff who did their very best to make our stay as pleasant as possible. All the facilities were spotlessly clean, morning, noon and night. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the ladies and gents that kept the place clean, tidy and very well manicured. The beach and prom were just a short walk away at the end of the site and with a pleasant evenings walk into Barmouth or the hotel on the prom everything was covered. Barmouth is a nice little town with takeaways, supermarkets and a market day.
Do yourselves a favour and go into the hills and explore as we did on several occasions.
Will definitely be back sometime, just hope we get more luck with the weather.

Stayed here for two nights (going back next week )and it's a lovely site, well manicured with an immaculate shower/toilet block, (plenty of hooks which I believe is a must have) which even has a wash basin in the shower cubicle and a folding chair.
The staff recommended a pitch for us and they were happy to chat. Barmouth is a gorgeous holiday town with lots of amenities and a nice beach and pier. We went to a couple of pubs which were reasonably priced and friendly. The 'Last inn' had a great 'open mike' night on the Tuesday. Barmouth is a nice stroll from the site but uphill going back. The site also has direct walking access to the beach/ front.

Great family site, pitched on field 2 after being directed by helpful staff member. Nice little park for the kids in our party 5, 6 & 7.
Great location for the beach, which was nice and sandy, ideal for paddling. 15 min walk to Barmouth town, but because the site is on the prom it is a nice safe walk for the kids.
Showers and toilet block were more than acceptable, always had hot water. Didn't go into site shop, as Barmouth has a Co-op and an Iceland.
This is not a site for a quiet getaway, although the 11'o'clock rule was well observed, it is ideal for families with kids who want to run around and enjoy themselves.
Cafe on prom just outside site does lovely garlic bread and hot chocolate! We will be back.

Stayed for 2 days as this was out first camping trip and was recommended this site, there was 5 of us 2 adults and 3 children, we were met by friendly staff and shown to our pitch by a friendly man.
We were in the perfect location, we had the showers/toilet block and play park one way and the beach the other. Toilets and showers are cleaned every day and are really clean.
Close to barmouth town - which is a beautiful town. The beach and sea are both clean and there is lots of it. There is a train track right by the camp but very rare we heard or seen a train.
We really enjoyed ourselves and will be returning again and we would and will recommend this site to others. There is a shop on site but we didn't go into it.

Lovely friendly welcome, We pitched in the field furthest from the shower block was a nice flat field. Quite site only one group of noisy teenagers who were soon told to be quite from someone
Very friendly welcome found the shop and take away to be a bit rude with customers
Beach just a few mins away, Lovely cafe on the front they do really nice meals and are very friendly.
Shower block nice and clean as were the toilets mother and baby room needed a bit of a wipe round.
Park kept nice for younger children although we found quite a few older children riding round on bikes and scooters and cutting in front of cars even though there are lots of signs asking them not to.
We have already talked about coming back next summer!
