We stayed here on Oct 31st, for one night with my husband and our two dogs.
We had a fantastic time!
Toilets were very clean and warm.
The grounds were very nice and well kept with lots of space and good small roads around the pitch.
There was a cafe and shop on site but we never used this.
Staff were nice and helpful.
Beach is close, over the train line which is pretty safe as trains only run once an hour (if that)
It was very quiet when we went which was great because we could let our dogs off.
We loved it and will be going back for new years eve!
Barmouth as a whole is a lovely place great for couples and family's.

We were booked in to stay here for four nights with our camper. We arrived early afternoon and were shown to our pitch by a very friendly member of staff. The site is nicely laid out with tarmac roads around the various fields.
If you are in the tenting field, it is a fair walk to the toilet block. The pitches are spacious. There are two toilet blocks which are modern and cleaned regularly (best shower we have had so far on a site).
There is a small well stocked shop that also does breakfasts and take-away food. To get to the beach, there is an unmanned crossing over the railway (there is a train every hour so not a problem as long as you are careful!). We were meant to move onto another site for the second part of our holiday but decided to stay at Hendre for the rest of the week and the staff were happy for us to do so.
Barmouth itself has lots to offer with a lovely harbour, estuary, bridge over the estuary; the train passes over it and there is a walkway next to the railway line, a must to see the fantastic view of the mountains and for only 70p each.
The town has a nice mix of shops and places to eat, there is a small funfair on the front, the beaches are lovely and sandy, dogs are allowed along the whole of the main beach by the promenade, the hotel on the front does a nice beer and all of this surrounded by fantastic scenery.
We had such a lovely week, we hope to go back and spend more time there. Lovely!

Stayed here for one night with a friend, in a small tent. The location is excellent, right on the beach and a 20 minute walk to Barmouth town centre. Reception were polite and helpful and directed us to two places we could pitch. It is a big site and was very busy when we visited but we had plenty of space to pitch and park.
It is expensive compared to other sites, this is made up for by a brilliant location, you can hear the waves at night. The campsite does get very busy and as such I wouldn't recommend if you are after peace and quiet, although it was very quiet at night.
Facilities are good, there is a shop on site (we didn't use it) and a cafe nearby. Toilets and showers were mostly fine and clean, although the ladies got a bit grotty by the evening (lots of families in there changing nappies etc) they were too busy in the early evening - maybe they should think about a family changing room as to me, I did not like there being boys in the ladies.
Overall we had a pleasant stay and I would visit again, maybe not in August though!

We stayed at this site from bank holiday sunday for 4 nights, wot a brilliant site, great location for Barmouth only 2 mins away in the car. We had fantastic views on the upper field, slight slope but well worth the view.
The staff were very helpful and pointing us in the right directions for many splendid walks and cycle rides(never been to barmouth before) even taking time to photocopy maps for us for our walks.
If you love walking I would highly recommend the Blue Lake walk over Barmouth bridge, the views are breathtaking and also the cycle trail to Dolgellaeu (10 miles but very flat). This site is spotlessly clean, toilet blocks are immaculate with free showers.
All credit goes to all the staff on the site, everyone we spoke to at reception was brilliant and to top it all the weather was fantastic.

This is a brilliant site staffed by really warm people. We were called back home to to a family crisis but were welcomed back onto our pitch the next day.
The facilities are clean and plentiful for what is quite a large site. There is also a cafe selling a variety of hot food which we didn't try due to there not being much of a choice for vegetarians but that's not an issue as we are used to having to have a variety of veggie foods with us as the usual choices are the same old beans/cheese or broccoli bake if you're lucky!
The walk into Barmouth along the promenade is lovely although there is a train which runs along it from Barmouth to the campsite for those with tired legs.

We stayed here two nights, the weather on the friday was horrendous, so never a good start! The pitch was large and beside the railway track but not a problem at all, as the few trains that we did here were are so few and far between. We even saw a steam train.
The site is very close to the beach and the town a little further, a nice walk.
The staff are friendly and attentive, the small children's play area was OK, which gave us some 'free' time.
The large industrial driers they have, I thought would have the wet clothes dried in minutes! No Chance!
The toilet block and wash up area could do with some modernisation I felt and kept cleaner, in comparison to other sites we have visited this year (even although I am a newbie at this camping stuff).
I would probably not recommend this site to a friend.

We have just come back from spending a week at this site. We cannot find fault with the facilities or friendliness of both the site owners or their hardworking staff, definitely 10/10.
Although it is a large site it was well maintained with the rubbish emptied regularly, toilet block and showers cleaned and inspected regularly and site staff on hand. The site shop although small, is well stocked.
The 11pm no noise rule was adhered to and in fact the site was pretty quiet at 10pm. It was handy for the beach where we regularly took our dog, the beach was a beautiful sandy one.

Would not hesitate in recommending this site to anybody, the whole site is well maintained & kept tidy.
The shower & toilet facilities were of a high standard also providing disabled facilities.
There is a little shop on site also a take away cafe.
Short distance from the beach, just across train tracks, but all very well gated so no need to worry about kids, which also have a fenced play area.
Short drive into Barmouth, a lovely walk along the front.

I've visited this site many times over the years. I decided to write a review now as the site has recently changed ownership. The new owner, Mr Bean, seems a very nice guy - very helpful, quite humorous to us all just like the last owner. Made us feel welcome.
The site is always clean, toilets are perhaps not quite as high standard as previously, but still acceptable.
The site has Wifi, but it is very very slow, even with a handful of users on when I reported it to reception so we were disappointed by this. Seemed like it was only a 1 meg connection for the site.
Mrs Bean made us all welcome too. It is always nice to be greeted by pleasant faces when you arrive and depart.
All the staff were top notch. There seems to be two staff who are wardens perhaps who are outstanding. Again, very helpful, and always aim to please - look after these Mr and Mrs Bean, they are a credit to the site.
A humorous guy mans the office, and the lady in the shop needs to rub shoulders with him - in hope it may rub off on her!
Will certainly return here - makes you very relaxed when there knowing you have helpful hands around you.
