Having been to this site many times before we found the new owners to be very friendly. On arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were pitched on the new hardstanding which were great.

The location of the site is perfect for the beach and Barmouth town. Yes, there is a train but they are not that regular and we didn't really notice them after a while. The toilets and showers were immaculate as ever.

Will definitely be going again next year.

Just got back from hendre mynach camping park. It's a lovely site, all staff and campers are so friendly there. Everywhere clean and tidy, toilet and shower block excellent

Close to beach and walking distance to Barmouth town. Found it a bit too near to the train track, would like to be a few rows back next time

Costing £29per night peak time, not too bad, only thing missing there is a club house for a bit of entertainment at night. Will be going back there hopefully again soon.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Lovely campsite. Short walk across train line and right on the beach front (trains stopped running about 10pm so didn't cause any major nuisance.

There are loads of places to visit nearby so great location.

Toilet / shower facilities spotless. Shop has very limited supplies but this is no big deal at you are a short walk from shops in town. For those who can't do without their computer on holiday, there is Wifi available on this site for a charge.

Site does advertise cafe food but the person running this facility was reluctant to provide eat-in food, she said this was due to lack of demand from site guests. Suspect guests may have been put off from using this facility as the lady running it was not very approachable as noted by other guests as well as myself during my visit (same person who ran the shop). However, we did not let this spoil our visit, which wasn't long enough on this occasion, and we will be booking again for next year.

This is a fantastic family site, there's a playground for the kids and the beach is just a very short walk away. We took the tent and had a pitch with electric hook up behind a hedge, which sheltered us from the wind.
The loos and showers are second to none and the staff are great. Barmouth is in walking distance along the seafront from the site. We like Barmouth it's not rowdy but it's not boring there's shops for everything and plenty of places to eat and drink. The surrounding countryside is brill and we did a lot of walking,.
This was our second stay at this site and we look forward to the third. Can't think of any downers. For us this is a perfect stay.

Why oh why do I always just go to Barmouth for the weekend?? Lovely and clean site as usual - shop and cafe were open and the welcome was as warm as the first time I visited. Weather was very kind and fellow campers were in good spirits! Pitches are well spaced and maintained to perfection. Approach through the twon is always interesting and a test to driving skills, but the views more than make up for it. Will definitely be back in 2010!

We love Barmouth but only manage a visit every 2 or 3 years and always stay at Hendre Mynach. I have to say that in my opinion I feel the site has gone downhill - slightly! Which is a real shame.

Lovely warm welcome on arrival. Easy check in and we were given loads of local information. We had a really private hardstanding pitch with EHU and own water - high hedges both sides BUT this didn't stop - 1. The pig ignorant dog owners pitched next door who left there dogs in their motorhome all day both days and let them bark for England on their return - 2. Our pitch backed onto the railway line and although the trains are small were frequent and started early morning - 3. We were overlooked by the local housing estate.

The site has 2 toilet/shower blocks. We were pitched near the smallest one. This block could certainly do with updating/re-decorating but it suited the purpose. There are 3 washing up sinks also housed in the block. Hot water never existed and I left the sinks cleaner than when I arrived! :o( The site also 'boasts' a take-away (open all day?????) and a small shop. Now I know it was September so 'out of season' but the site was almost full - UNLIKE THE SHOP - and the lady on the till was not the happiest we've ever come across. She also had to run the take-away on her own - hence it never being open!

:o(

You can walk into Barmouth directly from the site, across the railway line and onto the prom. The Min-y-Mor hotel on the walk into town is doggie friendly and is the closest 'pub' to the site. All the pubs in town seem very overpriced for food so we didn't partake! The area around the harbour and overlooking the wonderful Barmouth Bridge is probably the nicest part of the town. We had a cheap but foul tasting (?) tea in Davy Jones Locker but a much nicer coffee and meal in La Pizzeria, sat outside in the glorious sunshine overlooking the bridge - highly recommended! Like many towns in the UK these days Barmouth really could do with a good refurbishment.

It still remains my favourite place to visit in Wales purely for the views.

Just returned after our 4th visit to this site (wife me and the kids) the site is always spotless toilets/showers always clean nice small but adequate facilities with a small shop for provisions and a very reasonable freshly cooked brekkie. Would recommend this site to all even when busy it doesn't feel overcrowded and I think I can safely say it is the quietest site we have ever camped on,will return again next year. And can't wait!

We chose this site because of the location we went with our son 9 and our 13 year old daughter and her friend. The site is a 2 minute walk to the beach crossing over a railway line, then you can walk along the prom to the centre of Barmouth. This was ok if it wasn't raining or blowing a gale.

When we booked in we were told very abruptly that we could camp anywhere in the main field and to stay away from the electric pitches.(We didn't want an electric pitch) Previous to going to the site I phoned to book a pitch. I was told that it was first come first served and that no electric pitches were available. When we arrived there appeared to be a few electric pitches which lay empty for the time we were there!

There are 2 shower/toilet blocks for the top and bottom fields, we only used the toilets for the bottom field. There are 4 showers and a small toilet block. The showers were clean they asked you to mop the floor when you had finished. We stayed for 4 nights and in the ladies showers there was always a queue.

The park is small but the children enjoyed it and they met a few friends there which later made a cricket team the kids young and old enjoyed that. Unfortunately one night my son who was riding around on a bike (not late at night)was told by a warden to get off his bike, and go to bed or he would throw us off the site!

We were really looking forward to our week's holiday at this campsite as most of the reviews were so positive. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The campsite itself is nicely laid out and we had a decent amount of space and privacy. The shower block was fine, nice hot water and clean.

However, we felt the staff were very strict indeed and weren't at all friendly. The children's park closed at 8.30pm on the dot which we felt was a bit early to say the least! it was the middle of summer and the children wanted to play a bit later than that. I witnessed a young girl being told to hop it when she wandered into the park area and went to go sit on the swing, they actually tie up the swings! very unnecessary IMO.

The beach is just over the road and is pretty large with great waves, we really enjoyed being out there on our boards! even when the weather was rainy, we still made the most of those waves.

We were a bit disappointed with the town centre, it was OK, but nothing that exciting. You wouldn't spend every evening wandering around there as you've seen it all in one trip.

We actually left a day early because both of our children were fed up of being told they couldn't ride their bikes in such and such a place, no park after 8.30pm, and the staff in the shops were also unwelcoming. The weird thing was, they didn't make any friends at all which is very unusual. I think it's because most of the children have gone back to their tent/van in case of being shouted at after a certain time!
