The toilets were really first class and some of the best we've seen. This was the first weekend of opening and it did show, the shop had nothing in and it did spoil our night. If you have limited mobility and need a wheelchair don't come, I am sure the promenade is lovely but couldn't navigate through the campsite gate and over railway to find it, be warned! Referring to some comments about the owners lack of personality, we completely agree. Smile and the world smiles with you.

Views outstanding with the sea one way and the mountains the other. Campsite fantastic, staff very friendly and helpful. Pitches level, plenty of hook ups, Shower and toilet blocks very clean. Brilliant shop on site. We had a very pleasant stay here with our 2 dogs, beach is beautiful and dog friendly, lovely walk into Barmouth along the sea front, some great shops. Looking forward to going back in 2008.

Great site, very clean throughout, especially the shower areas. Well stocked shop with toys, foods, books, beach accessories, etc. Walk to the beach was about 10-15 minutes. Barmouth itself is a nice town - good food in the hotels, large beach, amusements, etc. Generally a very friendly place we would definitely recommend and will be visiting again in future.

The campsite was a perfect pitch. The showers and washing facilities were far above standard. Staff onsite were friendly and helpful.Although it rained and it was only the second time we had been camping, we enjoyed it so much that I am taking the kids with me next time!

We have visited this site numerous times - initially with a tent but more recently in a touring caravan. The site is perfectly situated for exploring Barmouth and the Mawddach estuary and in my opinion the passing trains add to the character. They do announce their arrival and pass extremely close to the site but the kids love it (!) and they did not bother us at all. The owner is a very fair and good humoured man if you are, quite simply, a reasonable good humoured person in return. He makes sure that returning visitors are made very welcome and, as with all of the staff, is very helpful when there are problems - such as getting stuck on the road out during bad weather! All in all a very clean well run family campsite.

Brilliant site I am a disabled person and managed to use all of the excellent facilities at this spotless and clean site. The staff were very helpful and kind to us even though we stayed for only 2 nights, will be going back again shortly. 5 star rating , excellent.

Used to stay here as a child, first time I've been back in 25 years ! Its even better than I remember. Large. Level pitches with hedgerows giving good privacy. Toilets & showers were immaculate, even over a busy Bank Holiday. Great site shop, they even had a water pump replacement in stock at 8.00pm on a Saturday night. Staff are great, helping to site the caravan on my pitch and helping me through a narrow gateway. Clean beach is a 5 min walk from the site and you can walk along the promenade for 25 mins to get to Barmouth town centre. Trains aren't really a problem, indeed caused much excitement amongst my 3 children ! In summary, one of the best sites I have stayed on, highly highly recommended.

Arrived at this site at 7.45pm in the dark in March. Rang owner, who made sure someone was there to greet us at the gate (Despite closing the site office at 7pm).
Pitch was good, although the soil beneath the grass was quite rocky which made pitching tent pegs quite difficult (they would not pitch all the way in, even at very steep angles).
Staff really helpful, got us a pitch in the dry. Facilities excellent. Shower block clean with decent sized shower cubicles, with changing area, sink and mirror.
Walked to the beach which was about 5 minutes away. Would imagine it is quite nice in the summer. Driveway quite steep, but got out ok.
Overall a good site. Would go again.

Just returned from weekend trip to this site,(9.3.07-11.3.07) everything already written about this site is correct, yes it is clean, and well organised, but it isn't cheap at £15 per unit out of season, there is also a list as long as your arm of do`s and don`ts i.e no scooters, no bikes, no skateboards etc. etc. etc. The pitch we were in was huge and well spaced from the next unit but you are quite close to people opposite you in other units. The trains are frequent and as mentioned before sound their horn as they are going past the site, and they are close enough to tell what people are doing on the train for instance reading the paper! On the good side there is a childrens park and it is within 5 minutes of the beach. The walk into Barmouth is not bad as it is flat, but my son moaned all the way back because we chose the route along the road which is quite steep. I can imagine this site being very hectic and noisy in the summer, but if thats what you like go for it because the location is good and it is clean and well cared for.
