We visited pillaton hall farm on the 9th may until 11th for two nights. We stayed on the adults only field and was well impressed, it was nice and level with great views although you do need rock pegs. When we were set up we walked around the rest of the site, this site is excellent, really clean and tidy with beautiful fishing pools. The toilet block and showers were constantly being cleaned with piped music which I think all sites should have. There's a nice little shop next to the toilets which sells a bit of everything, there's also takeaway menus on hand at the toilet block and a coffee and a pot noodle machine. I would recommend this site to anyone and will be visiting it regular myself.

Booked at last minute on a bank holiday weekend as only half hours drive from me. We were well impressed! The site is beautiful, very well kept, clean and tidy and the staff were more than welcoming, very friendly, There were 5 of us and our dog in a tent, dog facilities were great, a special dog fenced off area where you can let the dogs off to play. A brilliant park for the kids, mine played on it all day, they loved it. I must say best kids park I've seen on a site Nice clean shower block, we only stayed 1 night but constantly saw staff cleaning, picking up litter etc. and in shower block cleaning 3 fishing pools, a field for adults only and lots of fun for the kids. Great pot noodle machine, even puts hot water in the pot noodle, kids loved it Nice shop onsite which sells most things, but did get rather busy, had to queue outside!

Great site just got back after 6 days there. Large level pitches, great friendly staff, clean toilets and surrounding area nice. Little shop on site, lovely views and lakes, if you laik to fish this is a place to stay. Adult field if you don't want kids running round all day. The best kids play area I have seen on a campsite in 3 years on caravanning. There's a small town with shops, pub, takeaways only 5 mins drive away. £15 a night for a family of 4 plus mains hook-up can't be bad. Only bad point cars seem to drive around site too fast worst when it's dark as there is no road lighting. Well worth a visit.

I have to reflect the sentiments in the most recent reviews. This was a really lovely site. The staff were very friendly and very helpful.
I found the amenities to be excellent and enough for a busy Bank Holiday weekend. The only thing missing is a laundrette.
There are take away menus posted in the amenities block and some do deliver to the site. My children were more impressed with the pot noodle machine and it fed them while we set up which was brilliant.
All in all a brilliant site, which we will definitely be visiting again.

Arrive the Thursday before Easter. Nice welcome and well informed. The site is split into two. A very large field where the lakes are and an adult field (this is a fair trek from the rubbish and toilet block and also the Elsen and waste point). Both seemed well looked after and well kept although both are quite open so if it is windy I don't think you would find much protection. The lakes are really nice, I am not a fisherman but we went with people who are and they seemed quite happy with the daily catch. The toilet blocks are a little dated but very well kept and clean. At times I would say very busy if the site is full. A nice little shop opens daily selling the basics etc. Great children's play area which seems to keep all ages amused. My only concern with the site is the lakes and pools. They are not sealed off so if you have a toddler then you would really need to keep and eye open. 4 minutes drive up the road is a Somerfields, fish and chip shop, Indian and garage all together so not to far from the essentials. All in all a good site, nice owners and well kept. Great for open space and fishing! Enjoy.

Easter Bank Holiday Break at this campsite!
Had a brilliant time. A highly recommended campsite.
This campsite is very well maintained with; brand new shower block, new shop with all the necessities you need and a large play area for children. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
The pitches are very spacious and we were pitched next to one of the fishing pools which was very relaxing. A great place for a relaxing break and we will definitely be returning again.
If you want a relaxing campsite that is easily accessible from most parts of the country, with everything you need then this campsite will suit you.

We visited this site over Easter as part of a rally and were based in the adult only field. The site was well organised on what must have been a busy day. The adult field is quite a way from 'the facilities' and really only suitable for self contained units. On the main field there is a good toilet block, well cleaned with plenty of showers and hot water. (Personally not too keen on the piped music). There is a small shop open at odd hours.
The fishing is good and very close to the pitches. There is also a children's play area. The owners are very helpful and around the site during the day. We will definitely be going back.

This was a last min booking as we couldn't find another campsite for bank hols so was a bit weary of what it would be like. It was great, kids were off playing, sun was out, dog was happy! if its just sitting having a beer and relaxing you want in the middle of nowhere then this is it. Plain & simple with only grass-fields and fishing pools to see and the odd porta loo, which when we arrived were spotless I must say. People did start to moan by the Monday as they were very full, but I can say it was a very, very busy weekend so what can you expect, but I didn't find they smelt for one min and our tent wasn't far from a set of loos.
There is a toilet block with showers which I did use, my shower was fine and if I recall there were 4 showers and I heard no complaints. There was even a fitted shower gel despenser in them!I will go back at some point in time as its only an half hour drive from me which is good for a last min camp trip.

Stayed for 4 nights over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Site was fairly busy on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday but still had generous space for any kind of pitch.
Site is obviously a fishing park developing into a caravan/camp site and as such does not really have enough toilets (6 in total: 2 gents, 3 ladies, 1 disabled) and showers (just 5) and one sink for washing dishes. Toilets and showers are reasonably new but never look clean even though there is a resident cleaner. Toilet/shower block has a Pot Noodle vending machine. Electric hook-ups and taps are plentiful. There is a dog walking area, and a separate Adult Only caravan area. Play area in middle of the site has swings and climbing structures. Staff were welcoming and keen to help.
The site is 5 minute drive to Penkridge village, which has several pub restaurants (The Boat Inn is recommended), and most of the take aways offer a delivery service to the site.
Fishing is offered on 4 pools, and there is a tackle shop in the village.
Penkridge village is handy for lots of tourist spots being close to the Stafford, Wolverhampton and Telford A roads and the M6.
Site is good but I would not return here unless facilities improved.

We were looking for an adult only campsite in the Cannock Chase area for the Bank Holiday weekend but they were fully booked. Then we noticed that Pillaton Hall Farm has an adult only field and thought we would give it a try.
Nice friendly staff at reception when we arrive.
The adult only field is fairly flat (with electric if available and you share it with caravans) but needs some trees round the perimeter as the wind howls through for us tenters.
The toilet block is a fair walk from the adult field (especially in the middle of the night, I really must invest in a portaloo!). There was only 3 ladies, 3 gents and 1 disabled toilet, not really enough for a busy Bank Holiday weekend. There were 5 showers which were adequate (everything gets wet though!)
Having said that I thought the site was lovely set between the fishing pools. The main site area was busy and noisy but would be great for kids as it has an adventure play area in the middle.
The rates are very reasonable and it is in a great position to explore the area. There is a Somerfield supermarket and take away places only 5 min drive from the site and some of the take-aways deliver to the site.
Would consider going back and bringing the fishing gear!
