Stayed here twice this year, first time on a lads only fishing trip for 4 days in May and recently returned from my second visit over the bank holiday weekend. Facilities are a little sparse but I spoke to the owner earlier in the year while fishing the pools and he was actually waiting on planning permission to build a bigger shower and toilet block and had knocked the old one down ready to rebuild it, The planning permission didn't come before the start of the holiday season so they had to hastily rebuild the old block. Hopefully the new block should not be long in coming, that said the current block was sufficient and although I was on the opposite side of the field it was no more than a 2min walk and was clean with free soap and shampoo if you managed to forget your own! Play area was great for the kids and dead centre of the field away from the fishing pools and in view of almost all pitches. Pitches were not marked in any way and it was basicly put your tent where you could get it as long as you were 10meters apart from others. Prices are very reasonable and fishing was great as they have 4 pools to choose from and after getting up at 5am to get a peg I was surprised to be the only one on the pool till nearly 9am and it was never too crowded. Overall a great little site and great for a few quiet nights away but may become boring after that as local village is quite small.

Site is a large one, with lots of pitches for caravans and tents, with an adult only section
However the toilet and shower block is inadequate for a busy bank holiday (5 showers, 6 toilets, 1 dish washing sink). Despite an onsite cleaner, shower and toilet block looks unclean. Hot water is barely warm when busy.
Camp has obviously evolved from a previous role as a fishing park, with 4 pools of various sizes. There is a play area to the centre of the site, and a dog walking area. Pot Noodle vending machine is also located by the toilet block (£1.20 each - Aug 08).
Nearby Penkridge village has a good range of shops, pubs and takeaways, the latter offering campsite deliveries. Site is also handy for the nearby towns of Stafford, Telford and Wolverhampton, as it is only 10 minute drive to the M6 and the A roads criss crossing Staffordshire.

We spent a very quiet 2 nights on this site.
It was not very busy probably due to the turn in the weather (Rain on the 2nd night).
Lots of people fishing, my husband wishes he had invested in the correct fishing equipment to be able to fish there.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The downsides were - only one very deep washing up sink. The toilets were quite far away from where you could camp and only one set of them. The showers were ok but couldn't really keep your dry clothes dry while you were showering.
You really need to drive at least 10 minutes to get to the shops, nearest is a Somerfield but we found an Asda in Stafford town centre.
We would visit again.

I camped at Pillaton Home Farm with the Staffs DA of the Caravan and Camping Club from 18th July to 20th July.
The rally field which we were camping on was very, very nice. Highly recommended for other DA groups within the C&CC.
The site is basic, with toilet and shower facilities, park for the children and ideal for fishermen.
The only problem is it gets very, very busy. The main site was really busy. However, I am aware that the farmer is hoping to extend the site within the next few years.
The toilets are ok, however they are very small.
There is no pubs currently on the site, however the site is situated a short distance to Penkridge, however it is not safe to walk!
Very good site though. Will be pleased to visit again.

We tried this site out last weekend, just for one night, purely as a trial run as we've only just bought our first caravan. As they weren't fully booked we were allowed to turn up at 9am on Saturday and leave as late as we wanted (although we left at 3pm on Sunday) and only pay the one night stay - no early arrival or late departure charge.
The site is on the back of a small industrial estate and as you drive through you do wonder what you've let yourself in for, but once you're through and in the fields you wouldn't even know the units were there.
The pitches are a good size - plus when we got there one of the wardens drove to where we were and said we could pitch outside the marked area if we wanted to give us extra space. It was quite busy but not packed to the rafters - the site seems to be used a lot by fishermen, and other regular visitors. The two vans next to us were more local than us (and we'd only travelled 15 miles) and they go there every other weekend or so.
The toilets and showers weren't the cleanest, and the washing up area only had one sink but that was the only minor problem I could see. The village/town of Penkridge is within 5 minutes drive with small shops and many pubs and as already mentioned a number of take-aways deliver to site.
The play area, although not massive, kept our 11 and 8 year old sons busy for the two days - we hardly saw them although we had a perfect view of the area when we did want to check on them - and our 10 month old lab / spaniel loved the enclosed dog run where she could be let off to run free.
We'll certainly go again, probably reguarly, until we find a seasonal pitch to use a bit further afield.

Stayed here as part of the UKCS easter rally. We all had a great time even though the weather was not at its kindest. The booking was a little confusing but once we arrived on site we managed to sort ourselves out as the site was only around half full. Reception staff were pleasant.
We pitched on a very windy day and the site is a little exposed on a bad day. There was a little mud and surface water but it was not bad considering the time of year and the weather conditions.
The toilet and shower block were new and suffered some teething problems at the start of the weekend but were soon sorted. Showers very clean, free with all soaps provided. As a word of warning when we visited they were quite hot but think this was down to said teething problems.
There are 4 toilets, 2 each sex, with disabled facilites on site and again being new they were in good order. There is a pot washing area under cover. There is a seperate rally field. All the pitches seemed spacious and informal but as said it was only half full on our visit.
There is fishing in abundance and an onsite shop though it was closed for our visit. There is a large dog exersise area onsite. There is also a good size play area for the younger kids with plenty of play space around.
There is canal walking nearby and a nice mainly offroad path to Penkridge, nearest town, where there are adequate shopping and pub facilities.
All in all a pleasant stay but think the next time we visit will be in better weather conditions. A good overall site which we will return to.

Just spent 2 nights here and loved it, have booked for next weekend too!
Set in lovely countryside with 4 well stocked fishing pools, toilets clean, showers clean and hot.
The main thing that appealed was the lead free fully enclosed dog walking area, it's great to be able to let them run free and burn off energy and not have to drive them to the closest bit of open space for a wee!
Owners are very friendly, fellow german shepherd lovers so must be good people :-)
Only bit we weren't too keen on was being close to kids play area, we have no objection to them playing but 7.45am on a saturday morning was a bit much but that's down to parents, not the site owners.
There is an adults only section and some pitches further away which we have booked.
Another thing that we liked was the informal layout of the pitches, there is tons of room for the van, awning & windbreak 'yard'.
Definitely recommend it.

Stayed here for a long weekend. Originally tried to get on to the Camping & Caravan club site on Cannock Chase but it was full so ended up at Pillaton Hall Farm. Turned out really well; the site is well run, toilet & shower facilities spotlessly clean. There is an adult only field, a play area for kids and 4 fishing lakes.
Penkridge village is approx 1.5 miles away and has a number of pubs, a Co-Op and various other shops. Cannock chase is about 10 mins drive away.
All in all a very enoyable stay and well located for Cannock Chase. We will be going back.

We found this place on the net we ad a realy good time. We had electric hook up, field really flat which was good. The toilet and shower block were clean Also had shower gel etc in and hand soap in the toilets. There are eleven electric hook up points. It's about twenty mins away from the town where there is various food outlets, from pubs to chip shops. Local market on the sat and wed. Overall will be going back prices vary reasonable

We have just returned from 2 nights at this site wishing we were staying longer. The site is lovely with really spacious pitches. The owners are really friendly and helpful, they come round every evening to make sure everyone is ok and not experiencing any problems. Our kids really liked the play area which is situated right in the middle of the site meaning most people can stay at their pitch and still keep an eye on the kids. The older ones enjoyed the fishing lakes as well, all of the children really liked the fact that an ice cream van makes daily visits! Toilet and shower facs were nice and clean, a few more wouldn`t go a miss though. All in all we had a lovely time and if we were visting this area again would definitely use this site again.
