Just arrived home from the Serenity caravan site after a 3 night stay Tue-Fri, What a first class site the shower block was very clean and always had toilet paper. The showers cost 20p but were powerful and hot, 20p gave you time to have a shower and wash your hair but don't hang about. The pitch was of a good size. The entrance to the site are quite tight, so keep your eyes open. The site staff were very helpful and friendly. If you ask at the office they'll lend you a route sheet for a good walk taking about 3 hours, it's not the easiest of walks but well worth the effort. The 2 pubs in the village serve good food, we found The Brown Cow very good value and a good choice on the menu and a good selection of beers, the locals were good to get on with and made us welcome.
We will be back next year.
Ps. A kids free zone 'BLISS'

We have just got back from a lovely August Bank Holiday weekend at this site. The site does what it says on the tin - it is quiet, we thought we were first up one morning but found that everyone else was up on the site!
The showers and toilet block are clean, despite only two showers and it being a bank holiday we didn't have to queue to use them and the bonus was Radio 2 being piped into the shower block. There is a fridge /freezer in the kitchen area which you can use for no extra charge.
We stopped on the field furthest from the toilet block, which was a few minutes walk, there was a bin area and tap for drinking water next to this field. The pitches and field were in the main flat and surrounded by hedges and trees and despite being in the middle of the village it felt like you were in the middle of the countryside.
It was a peaceful site, loads of dogs on the site with easy access to dog walks. Runswick bay is only about a mile away which is more sheltered from the wind, unlike Sandsend. The location of the campsite is excellent in the middle of the village with a post office, Co-op, two pubs and petrol station. Fresh eggs and jams are sold on site.
The staff were friendly and had a brilliant knowledge of the surrounding area and further afield. Beautiful part of the country to stay in and explore, the North Yorkshire Moors are on the doorstep! We were able to pick our own pitch and field.
The only thing that spoiled the trip was the bank holiday weather - but we got the tent up and down in the sunshine! We will be returning!

We camped at serenity last august for the first time, we thoroughly enjoyed it, we had no complaints at all. We are going back again spring bank weekend and also august bank holiday weekend, we are really looking forward to it, it was our first camping experience and definitely not our last, the site was kept lovely and clean and so were the facilities!

Our first trip to 'Serenity'. We stayed here for just two nights over the weekend and found it to be an excellent site. Anyone who knows this area, knows just how beautiful it is around Runswick Bay and this site is a little gem. The site was very busy, (the full sign went up on the Saturday) yet the site did not feel packed, there was plenty of room on the pitches. Each pitch being numbered and you just pitched between the posts. The field was a little undulating and if you have a large tent getting a completely level pitch might be an issue, but we only had a small three person mountain style tent so this wasn't an issue to us.
The facilities on site were kept very clean quite an achievement due to the number of people on site. Cloth's and cleaning agents provided on the sink for customers to clean up after them (why don't more campsites do this - I for one gladly clean the sink after I've used it). The two owners were very friendly and genuinely trying their very best to make sure everyone enjoyed their stay. Will definitely return.

Great site that I would thoroughly recommend.Owners welcoming and helpful always keeping an eye on the sites running. Toilet block never busy,2 showers but never had to wait even though peak season.
Utility room with Washing m/c, tumble drier & fridge/freezer was very useful. A quiet site and the few children on site were very well behaved.
Nicely situated for coast and moors and for any walkers I would recommend the following walk http://www.Walkingenglishman.Com/northyorkshire12.Htm and the tea shop Farmhouse Fodder which the author described as arguably the the best in the North York Moors was certainly excellent.

We visit this site every year, and, if you like your peace and quiet, far from the madding crowd, this site is wonderful. Marketed as an adult site, its great to come here as there are no children running riot!
Dogs are welcomed, (but keep them under control as chickens are free range and cheeky!) If your dog is slightly disabled, (as ours was) there are plenty of grassy walks to preserve toes, and Runswick bay is only a short walk away, (you can drive down, but check your brakes and clutch as the drive back up is steep!
The owners and warden are wonderful, and everyone is family. Facilities are fantastic, free range eggs are available up the road, and a butchers is just around the corner. If you value your serenity when you go on holiday- what are you waiting for?!

Decided to buy a tent to make the most of our weekends. First campsite chosen by reading positive reviews on this site as we wanted a more adult environment.
We weren't disappointed. Arrived Fri evening. Staff very friendly & helpful, despite having booked on the Wed evening & my booking not having been written down, there was space & we were able to pick our spot. By Saturday only a couple of spaces left.
Peace was only broken when ducks from the campsite pond decided to do what ducks do at 4:30am right outside our tent!
Were able to do planned walks on Cleveland way from the site both days easily. The Brown Cow serves good meals, reasonably priced. Showers/toilet facilities very clean & never had to queue. Microwave & freezer for ice packs useful at no charge.
Definitely planning to return to complete walks. A real hit - will continue camping - of course the fine weather helped!

We just got back from a great camping trip at Serenity. We were on our bikes so it was useful that the village was so close and was nice to be able to go out on foot for our tea. We ate in the Brown Cow most nights which had fantastic food.
The showers were nice and hot but the 20p didn't last long and the machine to put more money in was outside of the cubicle. I tried putting 40p in at the start but I think it only lasted the same length of time.
We liked that it was predominantly adults on the site, unfortunately there was a family just by us with a baby that cried all night which was frustrating for us because one of the main points for us when we were booking was that we thought it was adults only.
All in all it was a good site and I'm sure we will be back again at some point.

We were a party of three young men, who stay here for a weekend of camping.
We find the camp site owners friendly throughout the whole weekend.
The shower/toilet block is clean and plays radio music. Listening to classic music while having a shower is very nice. Cost 20p per shower and last for about 5 minutes.
The washing up room is very clean and warm. Only cost 10p and we find we have enough hot water for all our crockery.
We camp at the bottom of the hill which we recommend for individuals/group with tents as it is more flat. However the top of the hill didn't have the problem with morning flies.
There are drinking water points throughout the site which mean it easy to refill.
The other campers who we met were nice. We only spot one child on the whole site. A father and son who didn't made any noise. For the school holidays we met no other children. This was adult site as of July 2010.
There is a co-op which is 5 minutes drive from the camp site going towards Staithes. It is rather big and is open till 10pm. This meant we were able to buy any additional supply throughout our stay.
A bonus, one of our party left their watch in the shower and it was hand in to reception. Which was very good as it cost about £300.
This is a good camp site, good walks and sights locally. However it does seem North Yorkshire could diversity it takes away. It does seem every one was just 'Fish and Chips'!
There are a lot of dog owners on this site, which was good as we had one ourselves. However if you really don't like dogs then you might want to avoid this place.
Overall it is a very good camp site. No faults and very good value for money. I would happy recommend this camp site to anyone who seeks a camp site for peace and quiet.

Came up here last bank holiday and just came back from my second visit. Really enjoyed my stay and very friendly people and when I had a problem with my car it was not too much trouble to help me out
Will be going there again, fully recommend this site and will recommend it to friends.
Toilet blocks were kept very clean, pubs very friendly enjoyed my time in the brown cow, very good food prices and a good selection of beers.
