Greeted by Jill on our arrival who was Very friendly and explained everything.
The site was well maintained, quite busy, but lived up to its name as it was always quiet.
Although there are not many showers and toilets, they were always clean.
Good walks, pubs and cafe direct from the site.

As the name suggests, serene.
Peaceful.
Clean, tidy, great shower room, washroom and toilets.
Great position for exploring the coast.
I will definitely be revisiting this site in the future.

Very peaceful. Site well situated
Down side
Having to pay for hairdyer ( and broken ) also hedges far too high spoils views.
Mens shower dressing area could do with being larger with shelves for clothes etc

If you like breathing toxic smoke, then this is the site for you! It’s absolutely horrible. There is a building with a high stainless steel chimney next door. Why do people want to pollute the air you breath on a beautiful day, every day in fact. I really wonder about the mentality of people, no thought for others. Unbelievable when there is a campsite where it spoils it for everyone.
Can I just add that it’s not the wardens having fires.
Without the fires, it would be great! Although the entrance from the road is a bit narrow. Overall rating due to fires.

Nice welcome from man on reception, explained where facilities were, directed us to our pitch.
Plenty of room for caravan and our car. Not many people in the site probably due to time of year.
Easy to drive to Runswick bay and Whitby.
The Badger pub over the road from site is very pleasent, nice food and staff.
We will return in summer with our family who are in tents.

Lovely site convenient for both Runswick Bay and Staithes. Pub within walking distance and Fish and Chip shop.
Grass pitches but well drained.
You can walk the dog from the site down the back lane.

Excellent site
Excellent facilities very clean
Excellent location, lovely village 2 pubs, butchers & fish & chip shop
Also walking distance to Runswick beach if you’re happy to walk and the route along the coastal path is worth the effort.

The campsite was excellent, the toilet block was luxurious and very clean as was the shower area.
Decent pitch area too with plenty of space.
Lovely little nature area at the end of the camping field too.

Lovely setting in a lovely village, just 30 minutes away from home but felt like we were much further away. Pitches are huge and on grass, there are a few fully serviced ones but didn't manage to get one.
Booking process was excellent, nice, friendly welcome. Site itself is very peaceful with a good mix of caravans, motorhomes and tents in the other field.
Literally opposite the campsite is a lovely pub, fish and chips a bit further down the road which were delicious! and a second pub a bit further on from there. We went into Whitby, around 25 minutes away.
Tried to go to Runswick Bay but couldn't get parked. If you are fit its a fabulous walk but unfortunately my hubby has a lung condition so long walks aren't an option for us.
Will definitely return out of season and do Runswick Bay and Staithes. Lovely site for a peaceful few days getaway from it all.
Ps can't comment on site washing facilities as we use our own but looked good.
