Spent just 2 nights here with our daughter, son in law and two young grandsons. On arrival, Alan the warden was extremely helpful and told us all we needed to know about the site and surrounding area. The site was very quiet, which suited us perfectly. Showers and toilet blocks were cleaned out continually during the day and always spotless. The site leads directly onto the forest and there are some great walks around including a pleasant stroll into the heart of Brockenhurst. There is also a nearby stream where the kids had loads of fun for a couple of hours with their blow-up dinghy. If you want somewhere peaceful, this is the place to stay! If we return to the New Forest to go camping again, we would certainly choose this campsite.

We stayed at this campsite for 2 nights. We hadn't booked we just went on spec. The warden was very helpful and told us to pitch our tent by the trees as we had 3 dogs.
The New Forest walk was lovely and just behind where we were situated, nice to see the Ponies wandering around in the wild, however the cycle path to Brockenhurst was not very clearly signposted and unfortunately it seemed to go on for miles! We never actually made it, we had to turn back.
The toilet blocks were spotless as were the showers! We were very impressed, and had a nice quiet relaxing break.

My fiance, myself and our two little terriers had a fantastic time at the campsite. The wardens couldn't have been anymore helpful and lovely! The site is basic but brilliant. We went for a late night walk and found a good 100 deer on the campsite, it was fantastic and they didn't cause any trouble or damage!
Toilets and showers were very well cleaned and perfect for the amount of guests!
All in all we had a fab time and have booked again for a week next month! Can't wait!

No shop, No bar, No children’s play area, No hook up’s, No re-freeze facilities.
If your still interested then you’ll love it .
Just of the A337 , passing through the Show grounds & stables is the field set in the middle of the New forest . If your lucky you’ll be visited by 100’s of dear making it an extraordinary place.
Spotless toilets / plenty of showers and a very agreeable warden.

We stayed in this great campsite for two nights and we had such a lovely time. The facilities are listed in other reviews so I wont go into that again but another interesting fact is that this campsite is on a Greenfield site, all of the facilities will be removed at the end of the season and the land will then be returned to agriculture, so it is low impact camping at its very best.
Some people may find it disappointing that the pitches are (discreetly) marked out unlike the more freeform camping of Roundhills and other nearby campsites but please don’t be put off by that as the 100 pitches are very big and if it is quiet enough the lovely warden will let you pick where you want to go and some of the pitches do back directly onto the New Forest. Also its status as the ‘new’ campsite in the area means that it is currently still quieter than its neighbours but that will no doubt quickly change as more people discover it. One last point is that if you are planning to go around end of July/ beginning of August make sure you call ahead as the site will be closed at some point for the Show.
Overall this is a great new option in the New Forest and well worth a visit, Mr Jones, the warden, is a wealth of knowledge on the area and all of its furry /feathery inhabitants and will help you with any queries or questions you may have. You may have.

We visited Long Meadow on a quiet, rather damp Friday evening but found it to be a lovely, peaceful site with basic port-a-cabin type loos/showers (that were kept very, very clean!) and a very friendly warden called Alan who gave advice about the local area and lent us a torch that we had forgotten!
The silence was wonderful and we enjoyed sitting around a fire (off the floor!) looking across the fields at the reindeer! The only noise was the dawn chorus courtesy of the gulls but next time I will bring some ear plugs!
Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst nearby are lovely towns but I would recommend Lymington which has a good Saturday market selling clothes and farmers market type things. Remember to set aside enough time to drive into Lyndhurst from the motorway as there are often quite long queues!

Great Campsite.
Nice quiet campsite with clean facilities, good wardens and good size pitches. Easy access to the New Forest Walk between Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst with both being about a 1 hour (slow) walk away.
Great to see the wildlife so close with the Deer Park.
No pubs in walking distance but plenty in the local towns.
Will go again.

Great site. Long soft grass, the perfect mattress.Nice people at this camp site. We left Holland Wood as it was overflowing and lots of large groups of peps getting drunk.Stumbled upon Long Meadow, lovely wardens. Horses all around as stables there too. Big big meadow with lots of space when all the camp sites in the forest were full.I don't think many people know of this one yet. Portacabin loos and showers. The best shower I have ever had in a campsite. Very strong. Very clean. Thanks for a great stay!

Had a 3 night stay in June and on arrival was a bit surprised! It really depends on what you like when you go camping. It's not the best site and certainly not the worst. Basically it's a meadow!, with the reception being a 6'x4' shed at the entrance. The couple that greeted us were fab, very friendly & helpful. There is no shop of any kind on site and the toilets and showers are porta-cabins all be it very clean & well looked after. However, the washing up area has a lot to be desired. It is basically a single person shower porta-cabin (with the shower still on the wall) that you use to wash your dishes. It would be nice, also, if they cut the grass as when it gets damp in the evening/morning and you have to walk all the way from the far end of the field to the toilets you feet/shoes get a bit wet. There's no playground for kids either which meant there was a bit of boredom for my 10 year old.
Was great to wake up at 3am to find the whole field covered in deer.Amazing sight! Close to woods & cycling paths and found a fab swing over a river that my 10 year old loved! All in all if you don't mind the basics then I would recommend this site and I wouldn't hesitate to use again. Next New Forest visit will be to one with a few more on site facilities though.

Had a lovely time at this site, The warden was very nice and pleasant was explained the layout of the site, and as I had dogs was advised best place over by the trees. Lovely direct access on to the forest which you could walk to Brockenhurst or Lyndhurst. Great if you has bikes as cycle ways on the forest, very relaxed site dogs not confined on leads but would probably be different if site was quite busy.
The toilets , showers Very clean about 8 ladies and 8 gents with its own washing up area and has Elsan point. Nice to know vans allowed on site Well done ! No EHU at the moment.
The Deer came out late evening in the adjoining field about 50 of them including 2 white ones a joy to see close up.
