For the spring/summer 2014 we had our caravan in summer storage at Stowford. I can really recommend this. It is good value for money and the tow in and out service is reasonably priced and excellent. Many a time we came to the caravan to find that it was perfectly placed and levelled where needed.
We really enjoyed Stowford and visited many times. Stowford will let you choose your pitch where available and it is great to have this opportunity. We particularly liked field 5 and 'front meadow'. The staff at Stowford were always friendly and helpful, particularly in the shop. The shop is well stocked, they bake bread and pasties on site and the prices are reasonable.
The toilet and shower blocks are cleaned every day and are warm. There are plenty of toilets and showers. We used the swimming pool regularly with my nieces and nephews and it is an excellent facility - plus there is always a member of staff there so there is added safety for children. We also played crazy golf with the children and took them to the pet zoo which they loved.
Our dog loved Stowford and the walk through their woodland. We also enjoyed the surrounding area with Lynton and Lynmouth being our favourite. We did plenty of walking. As a good day out for children we would recommend Dinosaur World. It was surprisingly good.
I would well recommend Stowford. Our only disappointment was the fish and chip shop and the cafe next door to it. We had very poor pizzas there and so never went there again.

LOVED IT - FANTASTIC SITE - FULLY RECOMMENDED.
We stayed at Stowford Farm for a 10 days during the summer holiday. This is our second visit to Stowford.
We were on field 3, close to the toilets, which were being cleaned all the time. They were constantly spotless, as were the showers.
The pitches are large and you can park right next to your tent.
The new wi-fi connection was pretty good even though the weather interfered a little, but even so we had a great time. However, phone signal is very poor.
There is a fish and chip shop on site which is reasonable, and the on site bar serves decent meals although they are a little pricey. On a positive note, you can take your dogs in with you.
The swimming pool is warm, with good clean changing areas. You have to pay a small fee to go in but there is no time limit to how long you stay in.
The site is set in lovely countryside with great views and plenty of wildlife, including the baby rabbit that tried to get into our tent one morning lol.
Other facilities include horse riding which again was well ran and reasonable priced, petorama which was a real hit with my daughter, especially the ferret racing, crazy golf and entertainment every day in the kiddies barn - great if the weather is rubbish.
The sheep dog display, and the birds of prey display were both brilliant, despite the typical british weather.
Overall I would thoroughly recommend this site, it is close to both Woolacombe and Illfracombe, is relatively easy to get to, very well maintained with great facilities. There is a small shop on site, and a camping / caravanning spares shop, both of which are pretty reasonably priced, and both very helpful.
A big positive for us was the use of doggy day kennels which allowed us a couple of dog free days to go out and do things where we couldn't take our dog, and very good price at £12 per day.
The only annoying thing is that despite there being free pitches, people still cut through your pitch VERY close to your tent, and I like my privacy.
If I had to pick faults, they would be very few. The water in the showers can be slightly too hot for children, so we used the family bathroom on a few occasions, but had people knocking the door asking how long we would be. And that some campers are pretty inconsiderate and don't pick up after their dogs in the dog walk area which is not the site's fault.

This was our first trip to this site and we were impressed! The pitch was huge, so plenty of space for the caravan, awning and car and the views are stunning.
The toilet/shower facilities were clean and warm. We were on Field 5 which was a little distance from the main reception area, but the dog enjoyed the walk! This is a really dog-friendly site and apart from the restaurant and shop, we could take the dog anywhere which was great! They even allow dogs in the 2 bars on the site.
The only criticisms were:-
A) the lack of phone signal and 3G/Wifi as unfortunately, the kids found this really frustrating. There is Wifi available, but there's so many people on it, that it's intermittent and very slow.
B) we had a meal in the Stable Bar, which was not great and when we tried to send the meal back, the staff told us 'that's just how it comes' and didn't offer and refund or apology.
C) we had a breakfast outside the restaurant which took ages to come and was cold.
D) the chip shop is so busy, that it took about an hour to get served only to be told that we would have to come back in another half an hour when our food would be ready.
The surrounding areas are beautiful and Ilfracombe and Woolacombe are a must for a visit. Unfortunately, we had terrible weather during our stay, so didn't get to enjoy Woolacombe beach as much as we'd have liked, but we will definitely return to the area in the future.
Overall, a great, friendly, clean site in a lovely part of the country.

Really enjoyed our break here this year.
We were able to book 3 nights short notice, and take the dog.
Pitches are generous and have electric hook up, you can put your car on as well so no lugging equipment and tents far.
We were in Field 4 which had a new and immaculate toilet, shower and dish washing/ laundry room building. Plenty of showers and toilets with good water pressure and temp. And a large vanity area with mirrors and plug sockets for hair dryers and straighteners etc.
The shop was well stocked with fresh baked goods and many other things you need.
The dog walk areas were great and I only saw 1 non scooped poop on our stay so not bad as I would imagine 1/3 of the units had a dog.
Would definitely stay again.

I absolutely love this site; we have been here a few times before and would highly recommend this to anyone!
When we booked the holiday back in January we were given the option to pick our pitch, as there were two families going this was very helpful. As we had young kids we were advised to pick field 3 as that was the closet to the kids play area. The pitches are really big; about 10m by 10m, there was a tap on every other pitch next to the EHU.
As mentioned in many other reviews, the toilet / shower blocks are of a high standard, plenty of facilities and always clean, the showers can be a little too hot though for the younger kids.
There is an indoor swimming pool on site which we didn’t use on this occasion but have in the past, this is very reasonably priced. We did use the 'pitch & put' and also the indoor petorama, the kids absolutely loved both.
There are two bar areas, one that is like a country pub which often has live music, the other which is more geared towards the younger kids as there is a kids soft play area at the back and had a karaoke on most nights.
There is very little phone signal on this site, we had 3 phones with us all on different networks and we couldn’t even make a call. The site does have free wifi which worked well in the bar areas, couldn’t pick it up down on field 3 though.
The site is well located to visit all over North Devon, Woolacombe beach is about 15 min away is an excellent beach, the kids loved going in the sea with the body boards. Ilfracombe is also nearby which is a nice town with a harbour.
I will definitely be back to this site, they also have some really good deals, first week of the summer this year was only £125 which is really good value for all the facilities and location of this site.

Have just returned from the most exceptional week away. This site has it all.
Arrived on site very tired after driving through what seemed like the the worst rain storm ever - the reception staff greeted us with warm smiles and check in was dealt with quickly - great directions were given to assist us to our plot on Field 3.
The reception staff have to be commended upon their knowledge of the surrounding area - this was put to the test after I sent my hubby the wrong way and we took a detour into Combe Martin - after a swift call tremendous directions were obtained that helped us back on track.
The toilet block was within easy reach from our plot as was the play park facilities for our 10 year old.
Our plot was HUGE! with access from both front and rear via the road system.
Whilst on site we visited:-
Crazy Golf
Petorama
The Stables Bar (twice)
The Wild Pheasant Restaurant
The Fishermans Wharf takeaway
The on site shop
The on site caravan and accessories shop - I managed to leave our kettle (and radio) at home in the rush to get on my hols.
The staff in the caravan shop were brilliant - even when I had to return my kettle as it had sprung a leak - swift change for a new model and hey presto!
As a family we wanted to stay on a site that had some facilities but wasn't an all-singing, all-dancing super site.
Stowford Farm managed to fill that request and some.
The on site nature quest was done at the end of the week and the highlight from this had to be seeing the Buzzards that have nested in the nearby woodland.
The site is nearby to Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe beach, Combe Martin and many attractions that we visited whilst there.
Would we go again - you bet! Having driven from Hull the stresses just washed away and with the fantastic weather that we had we couldn't have wished for a better place to be.

We had a lovely short break at Stowford. Booking in was quick and simple, we were located in field 3. The pitches were huge! Only slight issue was the pitch numbers are on the ground and quite hard to see from the car.
The facilities were good but the water in the showers was too hot for the children and there was no family bathroom.
The dog walk was lovely and poo bags were provided.
The site facilities were good, nice swimming pool and good bar facilities. Although there was a small charge to do a lot of things on site the price of items in the bar and shop was quite reasonable.
The site has good access to North Devon and also a 24/7 petrol station nearby too.
The site is huge but at no point was there too much noise or a crowded feel to the site. Overall a lovely break (excluding the car breaking down! The Stowford staff were very helpful!)

Stayed here the last weekend of low season, so took advantage of the fully serviced pitch.
Arrived late, so reception was closed, but had our name and pitch on the board outside, so was quite easy to to get set up.
Nice big pitches, level with hardstanding. Stayed here with friends so asked if we could turn the van around so we had facing doors, and the wardens were more than happy.
Facilities on site - very good, plenty of toilets and bathrooms, which were kept very clean.
A large shop on site with a good amount of provisions, and also the added bonus of a camping supplies shop - which help as this was our first time on a fully serviced pitch.
Site itself is very clean, and lovely bar and restaurant.
Had stayed before, and will be going again :-)

We stayed at Stowford Farm for a week during the Whit bank holiday, facilities are second to none, we were positioned on field 5 which has brand new toilet and shower facilities that were always spotless.
The pitches are large and roomy with good hook up, unlike most pitches you drive onto the pitch, no reversing required, then unhook and drive off forward. There is a water tap per four pitches with good pressure.
Field 5 had brilliant wi-fi connection even whilst sat in the caravan, which was brilliant, the rest of the site also has some great wi-fi coverage which assists in communication as phone signal is very poor once you leave the main road.
There is a fish and chip shop on site that was really good, although quite busy, it was a Saturday night when we went though, a restaurant that we didn’t try and two bars, one which is aimed towards families with children at primary school age. All of these facilities were excellent, reasonable priced and offered entertainment to keep the kids busy when it was wet and we got quite a bit of that.
The swimming pool is warm, good changing facilities and a real crowd pleaser, you pay a small fee to go in but there is no time limit to how long you stay in.
The site is set in lovely countryside and is so picturesque, there are a number of walks in the surrounding area and the wildlife is plentiful.
Other facilities include horse riding which again was well ran and reasonable priced, a real hit with my two children, a petorama, crazy golf and mini bikes.
Overall I would thoroughly recommend this site, it is close to both Woolacombe and Illfracombe, is relatively easy to get to with a caravan, well maintained with great facilities and a lovely feel to it.
