Love this site and was our second visit. Good location with great views. Good reception area and spares store. Kids love the play areas and club houses. The pool is good if a little strict. Some of the pitch placements are odd and sizes can vary a lot but we were on a huge one and others had even bigger ones. 6 hours drive to get there but well worth it and will be back again I'm sure.

Came back from Stowford Farm Meadows feeling totally relaxed and wishing I had booked longer. Booking in was done with very pleasant and professional staff. The wash block and showers were very clean and were clean at any time of the day, the children enjoyed the play areas and the swimming pool with a fish and chip takeaway and restaurant, also there is another restaurant and bar. Plus another pub which were closed at 23:00hrs, but we did not hear any rowdy people leaving the establishments. The site has a well stocked shop for the things you left home and the accessory shop is stocked to a good standard, which is situated by the workshop. And to top it all they sell caravans on site with a free weekend handover when you buy one. All in all an excellent site.

Another very successful Practical Caravan Rally over the May bank holiday.
We stayed 10 nights on a grass pitch, large, £45 for the 3 bank holiday nights and then £5 a night thereafter.
This is a massive site over 5 large fields golf course, bars restaurant.
Swimming pool. Well organised and managed.
Fantastic woodland and stream dog walks. Lovely views.
Great location for North Devon touring.
They sell and service caravans too.
Only downside is the virtually non existent wifi and mobile phone signal. Hopefully that will be remedied soon. Hence my downmark by one point.

Just spent a great 3 days attending the 'Practical Motorhome magazine 'Readers Rally'. We had also visited this site a few years ago. Note that because of the wonderful well-organised Rally we couldn't fail to enjoy ourselves - but to the site itself:
Very large site but well laid out in quite different areas.
All staff very helpful and friendly. Good entertainment in evenings (weekend). 2 different restaurants and a take-away. Decent indoor swimming pool (small charge for use). Several good play areas for children.
Unusually good extensive country walks from site.
Although very large the site had a relaxed feel.
Really good TV reception (internal aerial in van worked fine. )
Wifi not working but understand is being upgraded. Phone reception weak (Orange) but worked outside the van.
Very dog friendly - even poop bags provided. Dogs also allowed in bars! (mind you Cassie had just got first prize in the Obedience competition on Saturday so is probably better behaved than our children used to be!
Site is ideal for caravanners wanting a central location to then tour narrow lanes to see all the delights that North Devon has to offer!
Guess some areas may be quite noisy for tent campers. ?)
We will return - especially as we live close enough for our fuel gauge not to move during the return journey!
P. S The Rally's 'sponsorship' made the site VERY good value - so a '10' for value just for this trip!

We stayed at Stowford May day weekend and booked via the web. Very good website but unfortunately it failed to mention this particular weekend they had a rally on. In fairness the site is huge so it didn't really effect us too much. The site is very well managed and extremely clean with great tv signal and loads of facilities. The toilets and showers were very clean however as the site is so huge there were not enough toilet blocks. I got fed up with queuing for a shower so ended up using the one in the van.
Overall a very good site however. Absolutely everything costs and the site fees are not cheap! If you are a family of five like us then every time you go swimming it costs you nearly a tenner, if you want to go to the pet corner it costs you over a tenner, crazy golf another tenner etc.
Well managed site in great location just costs the earth to use it! Unless I win the lottery probably wont be back.

Management response: Thanks for your review, we're glad you liked our site. We do try to keep the prices of the facilities as low as possible. We feel we still need to charge extra rather than include it in the pitch prices as there are people that come and stay but don't use all the facilities like swimming / petorama. |

Very large site, with good facilities. Ideal for families, as there is plenty to entertain the children.
The showers and toilets are first class with plenty of hot water.
However there were reports of noisy & drunken teenagers, but with no security on site, you're left to deal with it yourself.
We had a minor accident on the road to Combe Martin, but when we got back to the campsite we found the staff very, very unhelpful, particularly the admin staff.
We are not planning to return !

Management response: We were sorry about the incident with your motorhome on the road to Combe Martin, and we tried to help, unfortunately we aren't able to lend out ladders to members of the public. It's a shame this spoilt your holiday, please come back and try us again sometime. |

It was our 1st time booking this site i so now wish we didn't.
This site is in a beautiful part of the country however we will not be returning to this site ever again the staff in the office failed to mention that you half to drive your caravan on to the space. The pitch we were on was in field 5 the back of our caravan touching the floor and the front rite in the air having to use all the wooden blocks we had due to it being on such a steep hill.
When we got to our 1st yes that's rite 1st pitch the people next door in there caravan had gone half on to our pitch leaving us with no room. We also couldn't use the electric we had paid for as the caravan behind the hedge was using our hook up we went back to the office they moved us to field 5 worse than ever being on the hill. Toilet block showers were closed for most of the day with out being told they were closed the staff in the shop was very miserable and abrupt when asking for my money.
It looked great in the brochures but we wont be back.
The site is massive and full of uncontrolled children, it was not a quite site and any one could drive on the site its not secure and we would not leave anything outside the caravan
The facilities on site i. E. Bars swimming pools horse riding golf were to expensive for holiday makes
Not a nice site at all not worth the money will not be visting again

We have just returned from a short break at Stowford Farm Meadows, we have never stayed here before, but we will certainly be making more return visits. Very impressed with the campsite.
On Arrival the staff in reception were extremely helpful. We found our pitch easily and were amazed to find how large it was (we had two cars and a Maritsa 700 tent and there was more than ample room).
The shower block was a couple of minutes walk from our pitch and I was impressed at how clean the block was, lots of hot water and spacious shower cubicles, an indoor area to clean dishes and laundry, as well as a family bathroom. We stayed at a Haven resort last year and never again, the shower blocks there were awful, humid and dirty so it made a welcome change to have a nice clean shower block, we didn't have to queue for showers either which was good.
We had fantastic views, it was a little windy but you can't control the weather!
On site facilities were good, an indoor small soft play area, two outdoor parks too which the children loved.
A 10-15 minute drive away we discovered Woolacombe beach which was fantastic, parking is £7 a day but it was worth it, the beach is clean and didn't feel crowded, we went both days we were there. Ilfracoombe is also a 10-15 min drive away too and I have fallen in love with it, such a lovely place, parking of an evening behind the Tunnels theatre is free after 6pm. We even found 'Verity' who is a little like marmite, you either love her or you hate her, personally I love her!
The only downside to staying here is the lack of mobile phone signal and internet (it's nice to get away from technology, but it was slightly annoying when we were trying to find information about the surrounding area) If you don't want to stay on site and eat, there are not many pubs close by, one was 5 minutes down the road (Cook Island) but it was really busy and we couldn't get in, we ended up driving out and finding a lovely pup in Hele).
We will definitely be recommending this site to friends and we are looking forward to returning in the near future!

A large site with 5 separate fields with tents and caravans mixed, toilet blocks clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. Entertainment every night in the bar started about 9 pm. there was a children's entertainment bar but a lot of children were also allowed into the other bar areas and allowed to go onto the dance floor with or without supervision, I couldn't understand that. The site is well situated for all the coastal towns and villages around the area. Poor phone reception though you have to drive along the entrance lane for a signal

Myself my husband and our four boys stayed at stowford farm for two weeks and loved every minute of it, the tent pitches are a great size and all the facilities are spotless, The on site shop is great too and stock everything you need. Toilets and shower blocks were kept to a very high standard with plenty of hot water. This site is huge and very well run. Thank you stowford farm and very much looking forward to visiting next year.
