Beautiful location, clean facilities, friendly staff and print outs of lots of local walks.
The only thing we didn’t like was arriving at Hayfield at a bank holiday weekend the roads are choked with parked cars making progress in a Motorhome rather tricky.

Camping club site.
Great position and great pitch.
Good and clean shower and toilet facilities.
Approach is down a narrow lane, with cars parked overflowing from the adjacent car park.
Could be quite difficult.

Enjoyed being on this campsite towards the end of the season. Weather was reasonable and allowed for plenty of wonderful walking. Everywhere you look there is an arresting view.
Thoroughly enjoyed discovering Hayfield village, a mile or so from the campsite. Not many shops but architecturally charming.
The shop was barely stocked with it being just prior to closure.
We were on a grass pitch in a motorhome. Even though there was plenty of over night rain flooding or getting stuck was not an issue. Pitches are spacious.
Have no qualms about returning here for another walking holiday.

Lovely level site perfect for walking Kinder Scout area.
Very nice shower block. Lovely staff.
20 mins walk to Hayfield, few pubs and couple of shops but worth a stroll.
Great pub up from the site The Sportsman, good food and real ale.
Very popular, nice beer garden. Would come again.

We stayed in some of the 5 camping pods. We had a wonderful stay. The campsite management were so helpful and friendly. The pods are empty spaces, think tent without any contents except a carpet, a light, and 2 plug sockets.
There is a small space under the eaves that has decking at the front, and they are half way through adding decking to put the picnic table on (each pod has a picnic table).
The water tap is right outside the pods. The wash building is spotless, warm and has really good showers. It is a 2 min walk from the pods. We used the mini chest freezer in the building in another field for freezing cold blocks.
This is a 4 min walk away from pods. The pods are in a little dip. This has a small stream just beyond it so we saw frogs, and there were orchids. It is wonderful, however there were some midges, bring candles and smidge.
Be away there is only a gravel footway to the pods, so you unload your kit from the car into a 4 wheeled trolley, and take this to the pods. And the car after unloading has to go to an allocated bay 2 min walk away.

Great area for walking, though most walks are quite steep. Excellent welcome by Jane and her team even though it was pouring with rain.
Flat pitches on hardstanding. Facilities a bit dated but kept in spotless condition.
Staff very friendly at all times and willing to help out with anything.

Hayfield is a little gem of a site.
We arrived to a warm welcome and were quickly checked in and showed to our pitch.
The site was surprisingly quite for August, we arrived on a Friday and by Sunday there was only a few tents left.
Showers and toilets excellent and spotless.
Being able to charge our phones and chargers was useful and the freezer for ice blocks meant we could keep food and more importantly the wine chilled.
Having a BBQ area which was under cover was put to good use.
The village of Hayfield is about a 15 minute walk along the river where you’ll find some nice pubs, a couple of convenience stores a butchers a Post Office and a few tea rooms.
The Sportsman pub is on the road just outside the site.
We did the trespass walk around Kinder Scout from the site where we were treated to some stunning views.
The walk is about 10 miles and is a great day out. We also had a trips to the Blue John cavern, Mam Tor, Edale and Buxton.
We didn’t have any children with us but the children we saw seemed to be having fun playing games on the grass, there’s also dedicated play area.
Only minor criticism, the shop could perhaps carry a bit more stock.
Highly recommend.

Our third visit to this site and we will return. The site is perfect for walking from, with walks in all directions and Hayfield a short walk away. The wardens are friendly and helpful and the facilities are good and well maintained.
We love the informality of the site, the beauty of the surroundings and the peace.
There is also an Italian restaurant in Hayfield (Colosseo) which is well worth a visit.

Just had a fabulous night at Hayfield Club Site. Great level site, excellent toilets/showers.
Really clean and well maintained site. Friendly vibe and most people there for the walks. 10 min walk into village of Hayfield that has a pub, fish n chips, cafe, village store/post office.
Did the Kinder Scout circular starting from site and via the reservoir going clockwise. Quite a challenging walk but fab views. Took us 5+ hours. Lots of other walks direct from the site You can check in from 1pm which is quick and simple with as much information as you need.
Only slight negative is being on the busy Manchester flightpath. Will definitely return.
