Maybe it was the price I paid, but expected something better. After moving from another Best of British site for £15/night cheaper that had best facilities and extras.

Perhaps first impression of walking into the toilet block on arrival at 2pm, to find them filthy. Wife talked to chap in shop, who just shrugged and that's how they are before the daily clean! Please inspect and clean as needed! That is what we pay site fee for!

I was told that the toilets were being upgraded. With the mens being first. They were good, but with an installation mistake to family shower tray causing water to flow out of the cubicle. Mixed with mud the floor became dirty. Told this was being fixed at end of season. Other toilets were in decent condition, though was a little basic. They got very grubby. I know it rained heavily. But the owners should get in there more than once a day. The owner suggested to me that it was the behaviour of the campers. AS an ex camper, this is something you cannot help if placed in a distant and wet field.

Positives:

1. Sika Trail nearby - excellent for bikes - take a spare tube! We saw an adder.

2. Direct access to forest

3. Close to Wareham for train to Bournemouth, et cetera

4. Shop well stocked

5. Large pitches and many hard standing

6. Good location

7. Peaceful - yes

8. Pool

Negatives:

1. Drains mentioned elsewhere

2. Cleanliness of toilet blocks

3. Most spots were a long way from the grass area with the climbing frame slide and swing. Not such a great problem for my 10 and 7 year olds. But think about this if younger.

4. Pricey

5. Staff friendly, but seemed to spend more time in shop, phone or computer than being a presence around the site.

We have always used Caravan Club sites in past thinking best for good standard of site and facilities. This site far exceeds those we have stayed at previously in UK.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly - they seemed very happy in their job also.

The attractive site was well laid out with large camping area - plenty of space both in open and under conifer trees. Caravan pitches good size.

Toilet blocks excellent - best we have come across with spacious shower cubicles. Laundry room good - reasonable prices for washer and for dryer.

Very good shop with wide variety of stock including fair amount of useful items for caravan/ camping. Prices fine.

Plenty of info provided in reception, including local supermarkets and places to eat. We went to World's End pub which was excellent - very family friendly and worth the extra distance (nearest pub only allowed families to sit at picnic tables either in playground area or at front of pub beside road!).

Location excellent. Seven miles of cycle tracks through forest and heathland adjacent to site - excellent location for watching nightjars if you're into birdwatching. Plenty to do in area both for dry and wet weather. The Old Granary in Wareham was good for a lovely afternoon tea.

We had an excellent holiday here in early / mid July. Could happily have stayed for much longer. Would highly recommend. We will be looking at the Best of British campsites from now on and will certainly seek to return to Wareham Forest if we are able to visit the area again.

 Spent a lovely week here

A great site, a little expensive we thought before arriving but once you get there you realise you do get what you pay for here.

Upon arrival rather than being allocated a pitch we were told we could pitch the tent anywhere in any of the extensive camping fields. We had a scout about and eventually chose our spot amongst the pine trees and not too far from the loos!

The site has a policy that no one can pitch a tent within 6metres of another to keep plenty of room between campers. Turned out to be quite quiet for most of our stay so no one else anywhere nearby but even when it filled up towards the weekend it was still more than spacious enough

Site itself is very green with pine trees everywhere. You could camp right in the depths of the forest, just on the edge or well away from the trees, the choice is yours.

The facilities are spotlessly clean and tidy with more than enoughs loos and showers to go round even at peak times

The site has a well stocked shop and a real bonus is the bakery that does delicious croissants and bread freshly baked every morning.

The swimming pool is large and heated and there is also a games room although we didn't use that.

Many people we met on site had been coming back for years and years and we will be too.

Well worthy of its 5 star rating and we will certainly be back!

First visit to the site and won't be the last. As relatively new campers still have limited reference points but if places can achieve being half as good as here we'd still be happy.

Staff all very friendly and helpful, check-in very efficient and quick. Headed off to pick a spot in the un-serviced grass pitches. People tended to be fairly spaced out, quite a few trees for those who wanted cover, some camping well within the trees if they wished. Plenty of water points and bins within easy reach of most pitches.

Site shop had more than enough for the essentials, prices were fine and as expected. Swimming pool was excellent and heated just right, never got too busy. Playground was good for kids, kept them occupied whilst one of us could do washing up or shower. Showers/toilets/wash up were all good and cleaned, only used one block but I think second block is slightly smaller.

Short drive to Wareham and other towns if a bigger shop is required.

Only downside was out of the sites control which seemed to be another site or holiday place / hotel somewhere near the forest that had a fairly loud karaoke / disco that teh wind carried over the site until c. 1AM on the Saturday night / evening. But it still wasn't enough to put us off going back.

This is the end visit to this site, we have found it on both occasions to be fantastic, the staff are very helpful, friendly and diligent. The facilities are always kept clean and tidy.

During this visit it was very hot so we made great use of the pool on a quieter day.

It is normally a quiet site and there are some lovely walks from the site. It is a great central location for touring the area.

We and the family continue to return there

The site itself was lovely, all facilities very clean with plenty space between pitches. We were in the south field near the road but as previous comments not that much noise at all. Arrived on the Saturday following the bank holiday, classed as high season, so pool lovely and warm. The Sunday however was now mid season and so the temperature of the pool dropped considerably.

Although in a great location for surrounding areas, Poole, Swanage etc we would not go back as the midges were rampant, the weather was good but could not enjoy it due to the level of flying insects.

Just arrived home from two night weekend stay at Wareham Forest. Site ideally located for visiting local area - Swanage, Poole etc.

Welcome at reception was very helpful with ample amount of staff on hand.

We were pitched on the South field adjacent to the road - there's only about 8-10 pitches along the road, but this didn't bother us at all, in fact we didn't really notice traffic and there certainly wasn't any obtrusive noise at night. Pitch size was ample with room for caravan, awning, annexe, car and a little grass for sitting out. There is some hedging between pitches but more privacy hedging would be beneficial. All pitches appeared level.

Two large toilet blocks each with four showers,6-8 sink cubicles and numerous toilet cubicles(am assuming about the same in mens) Didn't have to queue at all whilst we were there and it was half term - can't speak for summer season though. Toilet/shower facilities were all clean with mops on hand too.

Wash-up facilities great with lovely hot water. Launderette looked good though didn't use.

Shop well stocked if a little pricey, but I guess you can expect that. Newspapers can be ordered but they also have limited supply to buy.

Play area for children looked good although as my children are 12 and 15 didn't use but did make use of games field and table tennis. However this is the only games they have - could do with more on offer - pool, skittles etc maybe?

Swimming pool was lovely - clean and heated with a few picnic tables and grass area to sit out on. It was very crowded on the Friday eve we arrived, so feel it would also be very crowded peak summer season.

Surrounding area beautiful with nature walks and cycle trails into the forest -superb!

Good recycling facilities.

On the whole for the size of site it was not over commercialised which was pleasant, beautiful setting, and was quiet and peaceful where we were pitched.

We would definitely return - but armed with insect repellent next time!

We just got back from staying at this site, which was our first time there. It was lovely and with generally very good facilities.

We'd booked only a few days before going for the Bank Holiday weekend, and there was plenty of space in the open camping area - nice areas of grass areas between trees, giving a good choice of open or shaded areas. The ground was firm enough, though we'd seen some reviews commenting on it being a bit prone to being marshy when wet. When it did rain one morning (heavily!) it was still fine, but the hot and humid conditions brought out the gnats and midges big time! I got well bitten all over when cooking outside for the couple of days after!

There are two good sized blocks with loos and showers, plus washing up areas, near to reception, shop and the swimming pool. These were very nicely looked after by the very friendly staff team. My only slightly negative comment was how far some of the camping pitches are from all of that; the closest pitches get full up first of course, so it is to be expected and you can make your own arrangements when you realise. There are good spots around the site to get fresh water and waste water disposal points though.

The park is well organised and with a good rule system in place, which meant it was a quiet and peaceful stay, good for families.

We enjoyed it a lot and intend to go back!

Just come back from 4 nights at Wareham Forest Tourist Park and found it worthy of its 5 stars.

On arrival found staff friendly and helpful. They found an electric hook up pitch which had been cancelled so we moved on to that pitch.

Found the pitch spacious and flat with some trees for privacy.

Irascibilities on the site are geared towards family's. A children's play area with sand pit,

A very clean outside pool,

A table tennis room,

a shop which sold most things with not being over the top on prices, this had a bonus of selling hot croissants and baguettes in the morning.

Site was very clean and tidy and very quiet indeed. They have a no noise policy between 11pm and 7am in the morning but we found it to be a quiet site after 10pm. Great

Pitches vary from gravelled fully serviced pitches for caravans, grass pitches with hook ups for tent / caravans, and free for all non electric camping in 2 areas with some excellent pitches either in the trees or on open grass.

We found the location great because it is between Bournemouth / Poole and Weymouth, so plenty to see and do.

We tried Lulworth cove for crabbing and nice walks.

Swanage beech for pedaloes and Punch and Judy.

Bovington tank museum for a rainy day.

One minus point sitting outside in the evening we got plagued with midges, please take repelent with you.

Overall a great site.If you like loud brash and busy sites this is not for you.If you like quality sites in a great central area, with good facilities and helpful staff this is the one.

This was our first visit to Wareham.

On arrival we were greeted by very helpful and friendly staff, directed to our pitch which was very large and private.

The toilet and shower blocks were very clean, they have closing times for cleaning which are displayed on the doors of the block.

The washing up area was also clean.

Pool was heated very nice and also clean.

Shop had all the essentials you needed at very reasonable prices( you were not ripped off), you can get freshly baked croissants and bagettes in a morning which went down very well.

Reception full of local places to visit.

Staff, well they are a credit they are ALL so helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble.

It was a pleasure to visit a site with all other visitors also saying the same, you didn't hear one moan.

The site is well situated for all attractions.

The walks are good, the play area and field well kept and kept my son (10) and others happy.

There was one down fall and that was after the rain which was very heavy it was humid and both my husband and son got bitten very badly by gnats, they had a competition who had the most bites! take some jungle repellent just in case.

Have booked again for August and will also book for next year too.
