This site is the tops. Immaculately clean toilets and shower blocks as was the site. Lovely walks around the perimeter of the site and through the forest. Dog friendly but one of our dogs was unlucky enough to pick up a tick during her forest walk (yes I realise it can happen anywhere). There is a mobile fish and chip van visiting the site once a week, the chips were some of the best ever tasted. A mobile pizza van also visits once per week but cant comment as we didn't try it. Papers can be prebooked and prepaid at reception. Quite a well stocked shop with most basics for both everyday use and camping/caravan essentials. Our only criticism would be the hard standings are just that - hard, we had to buy rock pegs so that we could peg down the awning. We were lucky with the weather and hit a hot spell, the outdoor pool should have been closed the week before our stay but the staff kept it open due to the hot weather. All in all its the best site that we have ever stayed on and no doubt we will return at some point in the future. The nearby tank museum is well worth a visit. Wareham is a small rural town close by with limited shops. We drove through Swanage and drove straight out again ! Poole has excellent shops but is expensive for car parking if you can even find a place to park.

Stayed here twice now. Had a very nice time on both occasions second time we took our kids and they really enjoyed themselves. Playing in the forest and the heated pool. There is plenty to go in the area and a short drive to Swanage, Bournemouth or Weymouth, As they say happy kids happy parents.
We will be going again as it has every thing for a nice holiday.

Arrived on the day that a remnant ex-hurricane hit the UK. The wind had petered out by the afternoon, so this combined with the fact that this site is surrounded by woods enabled us to pitch up with the awning with little difficulty. The staff were very polite, although showing signs of stress due to this being a very busy site. The facilities were very good including clean toilet/shower blocks and well tended pitches. We were on a hard standing pitch which was made up of beach pebbles. This meant that standard pegs are impossible to get in the ground. Use rock pegs or screw in types like we used. The roads were made from the same material which did mean that they were quite noisy when cars, bikes and other vehicles went past. TV reception is not brilliant so use a high gain directional aerial with vertical polarisation pointing at 94 degrees (Rowridge). Dog walks were good but dogs must be kept on leads inside the perimeter of the site. We did have a very nice holiday here with thanks to the hard working staff. I am definitely going to return.

Just got back from a 15 night stay. Staff are so friendly they all work so hard to make your stay as good as they can. The toilets are very clean, you can get fresh bake products in the morning, the shop is always well stocked up. The pitches are mostly hard standing with plenty of room on them. Took my bike as the camp site backs on to Wareham forest so can go for miles along the paths, plenty of wild life to see.

Only one night testing the MoHo prior to holiday, hard standing all noisy gravel and gravel tracks very noisy when units transit on site no flags or masts allowed no wind breakers either, it was May BH they charged full rate but the pool was closed and the MoHo service point was difficult to use as it was surrounded buy wooden posts and waste water had to travel down a piece of roof guttering which needed to be supported by hand. The plot we had was along side the road and used through out the night the shop was good and had a reasonable stock the site is very clean and tidy and toilets are modern and well appointed ideal for dogs and young families no pub near and no bar on site the staff efficient and helpful

We stayed here over the Easter holidays on there 7 nights for the price of 6. We took our bikes, but found the route to the Sika trail wasn't really passable from the campsite as there is a lot of mud around, especially with children on tag alongs. We did end up going 500 yards down the road to the car park and getting straight on to the paths. The dog and the children loved the forest.
I went to the shop to get some bread one day and it had run out. When I asked at Reception if they would be getting some she had no idea and said someone may pick some up later, but we wanted it for lunch and it was already 12 by this point.
Also, the roads are all shingle so children can't ride bikes or scooters, which is a shame.
Overall, we did enjoy our stay and thought the price was very reasonable. We are thinking of booking for a week in the summer holidays.

We stayed here mid September 2013 for the first time. We booked using their website which was easy to navigate and booking confirmed immediately. We booked a hard standing pitch, all fully serviced pitches were fully booked so book well ahead if you require one of these.
On route we called ahead as we had hit traffic, you can arrive onto site until 9pm, if you are later than this they have 3 late arrival bays with water and hook up which are close to one of the toilet / shower blocks.
Welcome was very friendly which is a theme that continues, everyone we spoke with was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The site is extremely clean, the facilities are in 2 blocks, one is very new, the other still very good.
Nice location, we were on pitch 63 by the forest, next to waste and water point so ideal for us having 2 youngsters.
Pool area was closed for winter, we will book to return next summer when the children can take advantage. The shop is great, well stocked with food and camping accessories.
In summary, great site

Stayed four nights in mid August. We had a woodland pitch at the far end of the site which was lovely and quite private but a trek to to the toilet/shower block. Very well kept site, nice and tidy and well maintained. Very good facilities for laundry, pot washing, toilets and showers. Nice pool and surrounding area. Friendly helpful staff and a fairly comprehensively stocked shop, though usual captive audience prices apply I'm afraid.
Plenty of places to visit nearby and plenty of information available for excursions.
Not a cheap option compared to many other sites, 1 adult and 2 boys (17 & 10)a little over £130 for 4 nights.

This being our first jaunt with our new tent, AND two small children, we wanted a family friendly site that was close enough to our favourite place, Weymouth, to be able to easily drive there and to the local attractions.
We were very impressed with the campsite, the facilities and the service we received from the staff there, and we are rather fussy!
When we arrived, we received a warm welcome from the staff in the reception, with directions, information and leaflets, and were told we could pitch wherever we wanted to (with recommendations as to where would be best for facilities, pool or a bit of peace and quiet). One thing I would mention here is that we couldn't figure out which was the reception building, therefore think that some clear signs would be beneficial.
The facilities were wonderful. There were family rooms, fully equipped with shower, sink, bench, baby change, baby sink/bath, pegs for hanging, and squeegee mop so that the bottoms of your trousers don't become soaked from the water out of the shower - something we're yet to see elsewhere!
Excellent laundry & washing up facilities, with free use of an iron and ironing board.
The staff were wonderful. Our little girl became poorly on our second afternoon, and the owners/staff were very helpful offering advice on local doctors / a&e / walk in centre. Not only that but after our query as to whether they had a thermometer in their 1st aid kit, they searched the on site shop, and came back to say as they didn't have any, we could borrow their own for as long as we needed it.
We didn't get to sample the pool, but the rest of the site and facilities were clean, well kept and well run.
We would definitely recommend this campsite if you're looking to get away from it all.

My family spent seven nights at Wareham Forest in August. Our experience included both good and bad points. The good included friendly helpful staff, a well stocked shop, good play area for children, the heated pool, and the cleanliness of the site and facilities. Also site security was very good, with all visitors given their own pass code to get through the barriers at the entrance/exit to the campsite.
Bad points?
The site seemed to be geared more towards people in caravans, rather than tents, as there were not many serviced grass pitches compared to hard-standing pitches.
Also, the road that runs along the front of the camp (where our pitch was located) was quite busy and was used as a drag strip by the local bikers, which spoiled the peace and quiet.
Wareham's prices are at the top end of the scale, but there is no pub/clubhouse on the site, unlike other sites that charge this sort of money. Furthermore the nearest pub is not child friendly (which Wareham even state on their website!), so you would think this would be even more reason to offer these sort of facilities to families on the camp.
Our main gripe with Warehan Forest though, was the 'large tent' policy of the site. When we arrived we were charged £42 extra (nearly 25% extra on the price of the pitch!) for having a large tent (8m x 5m - big, but not enormous). However the pitch we were given was no larger than any other pitch (I paced out other pitches, and they were no bigger). If we had been sneaky, and not mentioned the size of our tent, we could have avoided this cost.
When I asked the site owner about it, he said the charge was to discourage owners of large tents from coming to the park, as he personally felt that tents were getting too big. It would appear we were effectively charged a penalty for the owner's opinion of our choice of tent.
I believe if the owner felt so strongly about tent size, then he shouldn't welcome people who have a large tent, rather than fleecing them for more money for no extra benefit. This left us with a bad taste in our mouth, and if we had been made aware of this fact when we booked, then we certainly wouldn't have stayed at Wareham Forest.
On this experience we wouldn't return to Wareham Forest, or recommend it to others.
