A good clean site, very helpful staff.

Stony paths and drive on areas would not be ideal for anyone with walking difficulties, and very noisy when walked on late at night.

I was a bit disappointed that we were told our gazebo would not fit on our pitch, we took it anyway and there was more than enough room.

The site shop was a bit pricey but ideal for those bits you forget, lovely fresh bread every morning.

Ice block available to hire at a very reasonable cost.

The swimming pool was lovely too and even though the sun wasn't out much, the kids managed to get in it.

We visited Swanage, Weymouth and Poole. Really loved Swanage and its got a great dog friendly beach.

Would visit again for sure.

Showers were fantastic, hot and not a push on button so stayed on all the time!

We spent 5 nights at Wareham forest over August bank holiday weekend as a short-notice get away after the long wet summer. The weather continued to be predominantly wet, but that's the UK after all !

The site is located within Wareham forest and provides excellent access to the forest for walking and cycling, and to the beautiful little riverside town of Wareham, with it's good range of shops, restaurants, and supermarket. Within half an hours drive is the pleasant village of Wool and the tourist favourites The tank museum, Monkey world, Corfe Castle, Durdle door, Lulworth cove and castle, and a little further away, Weymouth and Poole. The site is located just north of Wareham on the main road through the forest, and is easily accessed from the main road, with good gravelled roads across the caravan-friendly areas of the site. The site provides for the full range of camping from one-man tenting and family tents, through to caravans and large motorhomes, with everything from totally unmarked 'woodland camping' to grid-organised hard-standing pitches. The site covers a large open area of mixed woodland and grassland, and there are large open grassed areas for children to play on, with marked walking paths and trails to keep families and dog-walkers happy.

As a caravan unit we took a hardstanding pitch within one of the organised and well laid-out main areas. Each of these pitches were level and sheltered by the surrounding hedges and woodland, although there is little shade on the hardstanding pitches. Each pitch has electric hook-ups, and water and drainage points are within a short walk.

There are two shower blocks situated across the site, varying slightly in age and quality of facilities, but both have the usual showers, toilets and privacy cubicles. During our stay these were cleaned regularly, and apart from two occasions when the ground was particularly wet outside, they managed to keep them very clean despite the best efforts of the small number of children who were allowed to play in them.

There is an adequate laundry, and plenty of sinks for washing up, all located within the same blocks.

The on-site shop carries a very good range of essentials, plus fresh bread, rolls, and croissants, milk, toys and basic camping accessories, and papers can be ordered in advance. They are also licensed so if desperation strikes then wine and beer are at hand ! The site has an indoor games room with table tennis and an assortment of books and board games, and an outdoor pool which is well maintained and very popular. The nearest pub is located about a mile away on the main road south of the site, and sells a good range of local beer and good food.

The site staff were always friendly, cheerful, and courteous, and made us feel very welcome, and inclined to return.

Overall this is a really nice, very well-run and maintained site in a beautiful location. The facilities are good and generally the whole site is very clean and pleasant, and had a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

In common with other sites in this part of the UK the pitch prices are very high (£30+ per night for a caravan + 2 adults in high season), which despite being a really good site, does mark it down on value. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it, although once again the price is an unfortunate downside.

Lovely clean site, toilet block and swimming pool super. Walks around site and in to near by forest excellent for dogs, and walkers.

Down side, shop didn't have much in, and no food outlet and the site is quite a way from anywhere, a car is a must. The site has a lot of seasonal pitches so seems deserted in the week.

Couldn't use grand daughters trike to wheel her about as gravel everywhere. The site was very water logged when we were there, some areas unable to take tents. Very safe feeling site.

Fantastic, friendly welcome on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble and when we had problems with our heating system, a member of staff came to our pitch to try and help solve the problem.

Pitch was spacious and well defined. Water easily accessible. Toilets and showers plentiful and clean. Proper indoor wash up room.

Kids play area a nice size. Swimming pool a real plus for the kids although a bit chilly due to the un June like weather.

Direct access to Wareham Forest which the kids loved. Take some insect spray as the midges were out in force.

Shop appeared to have a good selection of items including fresh croissants and bread in the morning.

Would definitely return.

This is undoubtedly one of the best sites we have ever visited. Pitches are large and well defined,

The toilet blocks are immaculately fitted and kept sparklingly clean. Staff are friendly. Helpful and knowledgeable.

There are well defined walks in the Wareham forest and the location is convenient for Swanage, Corfe Castle, Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth. The site has an open air swimming pool and kiddies pool and again this is in pristine condition.

Facilities include a well stocked shop with reasonable prices, a kiddies play area and a pub, 'The Silent Woman' is about a mile from the site towards Wareham. Good value food and a range of real ales.

Cannot speak too highly of this well managed site. They even have containers of fresh herbs growing near the toilet block which guests can help themselves from!

Lovely site, we camped on the woodland pitch with a tiny two man tent which was brilliant as no boundaries/ plots just minimum distance between tent(6 metres). Would highly recommend this site, as it is clean, well laid out and close to lots of local attraction. Heading back there with the whole family in a couple of months as perfect for the kids. Welcomes dogs but signs everywhere saying the must be kept on leads but didn't see any dog mess on the entire site. The site is well divided into type of accommodation so if you go as a group with different accommodation you may not be to close to each other but site is flat and easily accessible so no problems visiting. Only criticism was the pool was closed for renovation but should be open in a couple of weeks I think. Yay love the fact that the loo block, laundry and washing up facilities are in an immaculate heated block (so no washing up under a lean-to on the side of a loo block). We were arriving late onto the site and even got a courtesy call to make sure we hadnt got lost/ still coming

I stayed at this site with my wife and two children. We stayed as a group of three campers and really enjoyed ourselves.

The initial welcome by the staff was lovely and welcoming. Giving details of where to go and simple initial guidelines of do's and don'ts.

We stayed on a hard standing (Gravel) pitch with hookup. Each pitch is spacious and has pleasant greenery between each. Not to far to walk between the fresh water and grey waste.

The shop had all the basics you could need at short notice and was reasonable priced. The pool was out for winter clean-up still but looked like good fun.

Toilets were clean and fresh almost all the time and this reflected how others used them.

Overall this is a clean and children friendly campsite. Will return.

Stayed here for our first run with our new Adria Twin motorhome. What a great site to try everything out on too.

The site is large but doesn't feel like it, with taste-full use of trees and tracks to partition it all. Big areas of hard standing pitches, hook ups, water and a brand new toilet block on one side, with a great older on the other, what more could you ask for.

Loads of camping room in the woods, takes me back to my youth.

In the heart of Wareham Forest, just walk or cycle out of the gates and you are into it.

Cycles trails are pretty easy, few steep inclines so easy on the bones and will be fine for kids and kiddies. Mostly gravel tracks, mapped and signed with some 'off piste' tracks that are easy and usable too.

There is even a freshwater pool in the middle next to a bridge they have signed as 'gruffolo pool'. Its obvious dogs love it and the kids will too when the weather is better.

Wareham itself is on the end of the forest, a few easy miles away by cycle and offers shops, little tea rooms, pubs etc.

The local pub, The Silent Woman is a walk down the unlit road or a short cycle but as it is a Badger brewery pub, its always worth the effort. Have the Firkin Fox ale, its delish! The food was stunning too.

Overall, a great weekend away in decent weather. If you love the morning sun, make sure you get a pitch on the left of the areas as you go in them as they face East.

Great site, friendly staff and brilliant facilities, we will be back as its a great base to explore around too. Corfe Castle is only a few mins away by car or van or even cycle again and is worth a visit. If the weather is good, have a cream tea in the Castle tea room looking at the ruins. Sublime.

 WINTER CAMPING

Tent, 2 people, 1 car

£13. 70pn

This site is really well maintained and looked nice on first impression. They have barriers which lock at 11pm and not open until 7am. Good for security.

Toilets/showers and washing up facilities were spotless all the time.

We camped in the wooded area. Brilliant. In the summer you can camp further in the woods but the ground was too wet in winter.

Wifi worked all over the site which is good

Staff were very friendly and informative on the local area.

Shop was well stocked

Washing Machine £3

Tumble dryer 40p for 8 minutes

I would definitely use this site again

A very clean and tidy site set in brilliant surroundings. The part of the site we were on all had hard standing pitches and set right at the side of the woods.

The shop on site was well stocked and wasn't expensive, you have to order your paper for the next day.

The toilet block was very clean, modern and spacious.

There was a pool but it had closed as the summer season had ended but it looked very nice with plenty of lawns round it.

Wareham was a 5 min drive away, which is a bustling little market town and there is a sainsbury's.

There's no pub on site but the shop sells alcohol. There is a pub on the road to wareham but its over a mile away, apparently you can walk through the woods but we didn't try it.

There's a good taxi service but its quite expensive (£8 to wareham).

There's a chip van comes to the site once a week, it wasn't expensive at all but the fish is frozen as well as the chips and I've had better.

Swanage is quite near and is a nice town. Lulworth cove and studland are worth a visit.

A very nice site with very friendly people running it and worth a revisit
