Stayed here over the wet half term break. As previously mentioned the electric did struggle but that was mainly due to the awful weather. Showers were lovely and clean, shop well stocked. Fantastic walks for our two dogs. The kids enjoyed the pool despite the weather. Great pitches lovely and big.
We would definitely return to this site. Hopefully in better weather.

We sayed here at the beginning of august and must say we were really impressed with the site. It has got good clean facilities comprising of 2 shower / washingup / toilet / laundry blocks, a well stocked shop providing ice pack exchanges ( £1.25 per block to start including a deposit then 25p per re-freeze), swimming pool and paddling pool for little ones and a play park. The toilet blocks were maintained spottlessly clean although there was a lot of mud around due to this years bad weather and subsequent high water table. The only trouble I found is that if you are at the very back of the site it was a fair stroll to the blocks as they are both at the front of the site. As for the surrounding area there is not nothing within walking distance, there is the Silent Woman pub about five mins drive down the road which serves typical pub fare and is child friendly outside but no children inside. Wareham is about a ten minute drive and here you can find takeaways and shops. There is also a Somerfield supermarket here for your groceries. All in all we had a great stay at wareham forest beautiful location excellent facilities and really friendly and helpful owners and staff.

This site was well run and clean with modern clean shower blocks (muddy floors but due to rain not site's fault) , a good shop and a really clean fair sized pool which our children enjoyed . The downsides were that most of the (best!) pitches are seasonal so as a touring caravan your choices are limited to the usual straight rows gravel for the awning ,or in the field which had electricity but was fairly waterlogged so that we couldn't use the awning space. The biggest disappointment about our pitch was that it wasn't really like camping in the forest, the tents have a fantastic choice right in the trees but I guess we're not real campers! The two toilet blocks are at the entrance and it is a long walk for most campers (especially with a full toilet cassette-!) so we saw lots of people driving up to use them which seems daft . Other than that a good site which we would use again .

Have just returned from this lovely site having spent the last 2 weeks there. It is a lovely laid out site, very suitable for children of all ages. We found the pool great and spent a lot of time in it as the weather was so hot. Our kids (13 and 11) both used bikes to play on around the site and the forest and had a great time making lots of friends. We all took mountain bikes and did the forest trail and some cycling around the local villages, along very safe lanes. We didnt use our car that much really, but when we did you did not have to travel far to get great beaches, lovely scenery and good pubs! We would recommend the Halfway Inn on the way to Corfe castle, good food although very busy so be prepared for a wait. Crabbing was great at Swanage (as were fish and chips)! Durdle Door is a must see place the beach is a trek but worth it when you get there! No bad points about this site staff were pleasant, pool was warm, pitches were a lovely size. The pitches near to the road might have not been so great as the road the site is on is fairly busy and fast! But we were in the middle and found it very tranquil. Definately one to go back to!

Just returned from this wonderful site. Facilities were excellent. Only moan is the long walk from our pitch to the toilets (especially first thing in the morning!). Weather was awful before we got there, hence really muddy, but it soon warmed up and was very hot! Brilliant for the dogs (our pitch backed on to the woods). Swimming pool was great for the kids and never too busy. Staff very friendly. Will definitely return.

We have been using this site now for about 20 years or more. Started in a Relum tent, then a Erca Chantilly Trailer Tent, now have an ABI Award Nightstar Caravan, which we keep in storage on the site. So you can imagine the changes we have seen over the years. The new owners, Tony and Sarah, have made their mark on this site. Staff are always ready to help with any problem. The South field (tourers) has been upgraded splendidly. Most grass standings have now been converted to hard stand. WARNING.if you intend to put anything that needs pegging, make sure you go armed with solid spike pegs. The hard stands are like concrete. Normal pegs or plastic are no good. The site now has a security barrier ( you will be issued with a code) so you will feel safer. Toilet blocks (now have an entry code to keep young children from playing inside). are cleaned regularly.and this is my bug with people that treat these areas with contempt on any site. I don't swim, but the grandchildren spend so long in the pools they look like prunes when we can eventually get them out ! Lovely new adventure park for the kids to clamber over away from traffic. No clubhouse on site or gaming machines.a bonus as far as I am concerned, showers are free and hot!. Overall.(I know I speak as a 'resident' as we spend about 8 weeks a year at this site).this site is superb, right on the edge of the forest, loads of cycling to be had.All Dorset coast near. Only downside.and this is minimal.evenings you hear tank noise from Bovington, and sometimes the ground may shake when the Army let go one of the big guns.lol

We stayed at this campsite during the half term period at the end of May. The site seemed fairly full although I think the forecast of bad weather might have put some people off so there were a few empty pitches. Sure enough the weather was pretty dreadful for at least three of the days and the site electricity system was really struggling to cope, going off several times a day as people were using so many tvs, kettles and heaters. At one point a member of staff had to come round to ask people to use as few appliances as possible and the showers were going off while people were using them. Not much fun but once the weather picked up it was no longer a problem. The site facilities were the best we have come across - spotlessly clean and even smelt nice every time you went in. There was a good little shop for essentials and the kids even tried the pool, despite the cool weather, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very attractive site and well laid out with a spacious feel to it. Only downside for us was how busy the area was and how many traffic jams we got stuck in during the week. As it was half term we were expecting a lot of people but it turned out to be worse than we had imagined. Also watch out for the insects in the evening - our boys were bitten all over their faces, arms and legs while playing football.

Spent 2 nights here, end April beginning May, lone female camper. Site felt safe & secure, but all the empty caravans made it a little like a ghost town! The motorbikes revving up & down(illegally?) on the Sika cycle trails at dusk were annoying & the noise irritating. Luckily it stopped about 10pm. Tents can use grass or wooded areas away from the road & the amenities - quite a trek to the loos etc. - if you don't need EHU. Loads of regimented rows of white vans would stop me coming peak times. 2 immaculately clean Toilet blocks both with Laundry & Wash-up areas too. If you're a little on the larger side (!) ladies, use the block to the left of Reception as you come onto the site - the Shower cubicles are bigger!

Following advice from members on this site, we decided to opt for this site for our first ever trip in our new caravan. As novices we didn't know what to expect but there was everything we needed and more at this friendly, safe site. The kids had a great time, especially the older two who had the freedom to explore on their bikes and visit the play area. The site was immaculate and the pitches were spacious and flat. A couple of things to mention, in some parts of the site there is some road noise but we were lucky and weren't affected; and if you have a small baby, take a baby bath as there are no baths in the family room and the sinks are too small to bath a baby in. But these are minor issues and we will be returning to this fantastic site in the summer. Brilliant!

We booked this site in July 06 for the week leading up to the Bank Holiday and managed to get an electric hook-up pitch. When we arrived, we asked the staff if there was any possibility of extending our stay over the BH. They advised they were fully booked, but to visit reception every morning in case someone had cancelled. Well, they excelled in this department, as no one cancelled, but they found us another pitch for one night and let us use their emergency pitch for 2 nights. It was also our first time touring on our own with our 2 kids. The kids (aged 6 & 8) had a whale of a time, and met some lifelong friends. Make sure you take bikes for kids if possible. Our two just loved cycling around the site and meeting up with their new friends. The pool was a little cold but the weather didn't help. The site was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely will be returning. Swanage & Monkey World are well worth a visit and also Wareham Forest up the road. The playing field on site is good for an impromtu cricket match.
