Visited site for weekend. Toilet block modern and clean. Lovely part of the country to visit we had perfect weather. The only things to let the site down was the distance to the toilets from our pitch. We couldn't have been further away. In the evenings we were bitten to death by gnats. A lot of the pitches were seasonal and hardly any occupied, it was like a ghost town and they were nearest to the facilities.

We just spent the early May Bank holiday weekend at this great site and wish we could have stayed longer (darn schools!).
Beautiful location and great pitches - reasonable size and quite a few trees and hedges for some privacy. For those with tents, there are some great little hideaway pitches among the trees.
The facilities are great; clean and well-maintained toilet blocks, well-stocked shop with a good selection of food (except no vegetables), beers, wines, bread and rolls, toiletries etc as well as loads of little odds and ends (tent pegs, fuses, pipe connectors etc).
The kids play area isn't very extensive and only really suitable for kids up to age 8 but there is a huge, park-like grassy area around it for ball games etc.
The site is right on the edge of Wareham Forest and you can cycle into it, joining the Sika Trail. There's about 7 miles of trails (although you could obviously go round and round if you wanted more), mostly level (although a few tough inclines) and, I'll be honest, not the prettiest scenery; it's mostly heathland which is very boggy, just off the trail - but at least it's off-road and safe for the kids. A local bike hire company delivered a hire bike to the site at one hours notice and picked it up at the end of the day - great service.
There's loads of stuff in the local area - we took the Swanage Steam Railway from Norden to Swanage and back (20 minutes and £26 for a family of 4) and you can stop off at the famous Corfe Castle - the kids were too knackered so we just stared at it from the train. It's an NT site, so will cost a small fortune if you aren't members, I'd imagine. Swanage isn't that great (especially on a grey, windy day in May) but I believe it has great beaches.
Also, just to mention the staff - they were so helpful that they actually delayed me because they spent so much time with other people in the queue in front of me!
We didn't have long enough to do more but we'll be going back for a full week at some point.

Really nice campsite within the Forest in a lovely location. The staff in the reception were so friendly and really made you feel welcome upon arrival and during the visit. The site has a security barrier for extra safety of your vehicles.
The camp site is well thought out and there are plenty of pitches but you do get adequate space between pitches for privacy.
The shower/toiler/laundry block was very good and heated and the facilities here are very good.
There is a shop that stocks basic items and holds lots of info on the local tourist attractions etc.
You are able to cycle/walk into Wareham but we did not do this due to lack of time but would like to do this on our next visit to this site.
Overall a great site and would recommend to anyone visiting this area.

WOW !. Just come back from a fortnight at this site and cant think of any other words to sum it up. Stayed on one of the Fully services pitches which were well laid out and planned, bins emptied every day by smiling faces, nice sized pitches and all services running smoothly. The whole of the site is well thought out, with nature trail walks, spotless facilities, well stocked shop with friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. If you had a question and they didn't know the answer they quickly went on line to find it for you and always had a smile. It sits closely to the Sika Cycle Trail which is 7 miles round route through the forest, again very enjoyable. If you are straying further afield then check out the trains which run from Wareham itself, as we found them to be reasonably priced and frequent running as opposed to the dreadful car parks charges in some of the larger towns. All in all an excellent site, WELL DONE. Totally recommend it.

My son & I have just returned from a four night stay at Wareham Forest Tourist Park where we had a fantastic time!
We found the staff to be be extremely welcoming and helpful, the shop was well stocked and we particularly enjoyed fresh croissants every morning!
The shower/washing up/laundry facilities were immaculately clean with plenty of hot water and we didn't have to queue once!
We pitched in the Woodland section of the park close to open grass area which was ideal for my son to be able to make new friends and play safely.
The site operates a strict no noise rule between 11pm and 7am which was great during our first 3 nights, peaceful and a good night sleep was had by both of us. However, new arrivals on the last night chose not to observe this rule and were still making a lot of noise until midnight! Not good! They then had the gawl the next morning at 7.50am to ssshhhhh my son and his friend for laughing a little to loudly.
Access to the rest of the forest was right on our doorstep but unfortunately we ran out of time to be able to explore it fully.
Local attractions visited included Monkey World, Tank Museum and Osmington Mills, all within easy reach by car.
We highly recommend Wareham Forest Tourist Park and will definitely return for a longer stay in the future.

Picked the site based on the AA award it had won and wasn't disappointed. It's a large-ish site, but it's well designed & didn't feel too big. Standards were generally very high & it's all well maintained and clean.
My kids loved the swimming pool & playing in the woods nearby.
We were there in late August, about the driest time of the year and I can see that the camping areas might be prone to getting a bit muddy. However overall we had a great time & are likely to return.

This was our second visit to the site, the first 2 years ago and it rained for most of the week so we thought it could never be as bad, we were wrong. It rained again, a lot more this time in a short space of time. Due to this deluge there was plenty of flooding in places. Some campers went home early and some had to pack up due to flooded tents.
I agree with some of the comments regarding the gravel, very noisy when visiting the toilets at night and the sandpit also stained my children's clothes. Please change to child/parent friendly sand.
The days that were dry and sunny were spent in the pool which was heated and had plenty of seating for parents. The park and field provided plenty of space for cricket and football.
The shower/toilet cubicles were always well maintained and hot showers at any time of the day. My children particularly loved the freshly baked croissants in the morning. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
We would definitely re-visit if we were guaranteed good weather. Any rainfall due I'm afraid we would stay at home.

Just returned from a fantastic stay for 10 nights. Only disappointment we did nt book for longer. Facilities were excellent and very clean showers best ever. Staff were very friendly and create a very relaxed atmosphere to enjoy your holiday. Surrounding area is lovely and there is a lot to do within 10 miles of the site as well. Pool was excellent if a little cold for dads! Lots for kids to do although need to mend see saw. Thoroughly enjoyable stay, will probably return next year.

Stayed in this site over the first May Bank Holiday weekend as a group of six adults. The tent area is quite a distance from the toilet blocks however this didn't cause us any problems, except if you need to go during the night!
The wardens patrol at night to ensure that you are quite after 10:30 and then came around again at 11:00 just to be sure.
The facilities were always clean and we did not have to wait for showers. The site is barrier controlled and each car is given a sepate code. The swimming pool does not open until the end of May.
The only negative that I have about the whole site is that none of the staff were very friendly but maybe we caught them on an off weekend.
