What a beautiful appointed site. Professionally run and all you would expect from a five pennant site, I cannot think of a single fault. The park is exceptionally well kept, each bay is well presented and ready for pitching.
The perimeter of the site is a nature walk etched out from Wareham forest for families to explore and if required tents may camp in the forest Facilities, toilets showers, washing etc were vary clean and well kept. Disposal area were similar standard.
The shop was well stocked and not to expensive. The swimming pool and surrounding area were extremely well tended. Best of all though, was the extremely helpful staff.
We had been let down on a site which we had booked previously, upon phoning the Wareham forest office they could not have done more to get us in, so we did not have to end our holiday prematurely.
Anybody who takes this much trouble will get my vote for best site 2012 and my custom. Highly recommended

Stayed at this site with myself and 2 children early august for 4 days. We had a fantastic time and had beautiful sunshine with 1 day of rain in the middle, which just added to the adventure.
It was lovely to have the freedom to choose where to pitch your tent, we were on the edge of the woods southside.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful and I was so impressed with how clean and well kept it was. All the flowering pots and hanging baskets were stunning. Kids loved the pool, was not that warm but did not seem to bother them.
Shower block facilities were ace and because it is always clean people were respecting this. Playground and grass area was also a great meeting place for children and my son was always joining in with cricket or football, think I will have to invest in a bike rack as lots of children on bikes!
We went to durdle door beach one day, well worth the hike down there and the climb back up. Will be returning to this campsite again for sure!

Just returned from a 3 night stay here - a lovely site which I would be happy to return to. As mentioned before, the washing facilities were very good, best I've seen so far. Also, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming - helped give the site a nice atmosphere.
We stayed in the woodland area (no EHU) which is cheaper; if you have a small tent, there are plenty of options - on the grass, or under the trees. We have quite a big tent, and only found one pitch we were happy with (round the edge of the biggest clearing).
At the weekend, the clearing filled up some more, but it was still okay (wouldn't have liked it any more busy). It would be lovely to come back outside of peak season, but then I think I would say that about any site!
I thought the pool was good and warm enough for an outside one. At the back of the site is a gate through to the forest which is great for walking/cycling around.
On sat night we went to the Swanage fireworks which were pretty good (every sat in August, I think).

Stayed for 2 nights last weekend of June 2011. We stayed in our tent, lots of different areas to choose from, we were on the edge of the woodland, next time I will go the other side as it was so hot as we were facing south.
We were very lucky with the weather, so the children enjoyed the pool, although is was quite cold. The amenities block nearest to the entrance (didn't use the other) was the best I have seen. Lots of showers, 2 family rooms, washing up room excellent, (didn't use the laundry but looked good).
My son enjoyed the play area, it was quite a distance from the tents so not suitable to let very young children go on their own, large grass area near the entrance to play ballgames.
The shop was well stocked and not too expensive. You can pay extra for a late stay, 8 pounds, we left at 7pm and had to be let out as the code didn't work after 11am.
I love the area, Bovington tank museum and Monkey world are a 10 min drive away. There are several towns that are easy to get to, Poole, Bournemouth, Dorchester. Within 1 hour you have so much choice.
We didn't eat out during our stay (apart from hot dogs at Monkey World) as we were there such a short time.
The site is so nice I am not sure if I would go during the summer holidays, would it be too busy??

Lovely flat, well cared for campsite. Felt very spacious and didn't experience any real problems with the facilities although, if you have very small children, the heated swimming pool is only really usable on a hot day.
Very clean at all times and this visit was on the spring bank holiday weekend. Staff visible at all times checking the site. Felt very safe. Loved the family bathrooms.
Lots of wildlife about. Enjoyed seeing a woodpecker's nest right behind our tent and of course the bunnies.
Downside is that it is expensive but then again you get what you pay for here. First class!

The reason we brought a caravan!
This site is the best I've been to, set in superb surroundings, run professionally and has an excellent atmosphere from the moment you drive through the gates.
There's a feeling of security and relaxation that you don't get at most sites.
It amuses me how people remark on 'high prices' quite simply you get what you pay for, there's no bar so no noise at night from people who struggle to hold there drink, there's a superb shop which sells everything you require and an excellent park and pool.
I've visited a lot of sites and this deserves its 5* awards, problem is I'm now going to be comparing all sites standards with this one.
If you want cheaper sites there out there but for that little bit extra you get Wareham Forest
Top marks all round

We found the site to be very friendly and the staff most helpful. The shower and toilet facilities were clean with plenty of hot water and no queues.
The layout of the park is very good with direct access to footpaths into the forest. It is dog friendly with plenty of bins available. There is a shop with the basic requirements although at a premium price.
The number plate recognition at the site entry gives a sense of security. A fish and chip van visits once a week and offer good portions at a good price. To sum up a good site to visit

We have just returned home from a 4 night stay. The facilities were excellent, however, we were pitched in the Woodland area and had to either drive/ride our bikes to either wash up or use the toilets (which was fine, I guess) An extremely expensive campsite and isn't the best we've been to either!
The play area, which the kids loved, is situated near the entrance/exit, to the camp site, and was really far away from where we were pitched.
Saying that they made loads of friends (as kids do)and didn't seem that phased by how far away everything was, which may have been a different story if they didn't have their bikes!
FYI: the pub up the road (The Silent Woman), does not allow children or dogs!

We spent a long weekend at Wareham Forest Tourist Park with our three year old. This site was excellent. The area is beautiful and during our visit we went to Studland beach. Wareham is pleasant and there were great walks nearby. With regards to the facilities on the park we were most impressed. A great shop, play area for children. The toilet and wash facilities were among the best I have seen and washing-up room was big. The staff at the park were helpful and friendly. I can't wait to return in the summer as the swimming pool opens soon and looks brilliant.
You can choose to pitch in the forest area. (we were advised it was dark in there). There are however loads of pitches, especially if you don't mind being that bit away from the facilities.(we didn't) it was so quiet and peaceful.
All in all it was well worth the extra few pounds a night compared to a basic campsite choice.

Wareham Forest Tourist Park is extremely well laid out and landscaped with beautifully kept grounds. The individual pitches are generally very large with a separate woodland camping area for tents. Security is good, with an entry and exit barrier activated by a code given to each unit. No clubhouse on site but there is a swimming pool (unfortunately closed during our visit) and children's play area, which looked very adequate. There is a large grassed area near reception and the children's play area, and away from caravans, which is ideal for ball games.
Only one toilet block was in use - the other was being refurbished. This toilet block was adequate and well kept, although could do with updating. (Perhaps they are next on the list?) The reception staff were very polite and friendly and there is a shop in the same building as reception. In common with most sites, the shop was generally found to be on the expensive side.
The cost was reasonable for a site of this high quality - just over £18 for caravan, 2 adults and 1 teenager. The site is part of the Best of British group, and if you have a 'loyalty card' (available free of charge from BoB) it will entitle you to a £1 a night reduction. You need to mention this when you book. We made the mistake of paying for all our stay before we arrived - it was too late to take off the £1 discount - however we stayed 2 extra nights and got these at the reduced rate.
The site is at Cold Harbour, between Bere Regis and Wareham, and is easily acessed from either Bare Regis or Wareham. There is a good road that easily takes caravans from either direction. This road can get a little busy at times and the 50mph speed limit is not always adhered to. Be careful when exiting the site, there is a little dip in the road (the Bere Regis side) and it may take you by surprise if a car suddenly appears over the rise at a high speed.
The nearest large supermarkets are at Poole, where there is a Tesco's and Asda. There is a smaller (High Street) supermarket at Wareham, and a Co-Op attached to a petrol station on the road from Wareham to Poole.
The site insists on a 11am departure on the day you leave and your barrier code is disabled at 11am - I didn't try leaving at 11.01am to see what would happen, but it just 'felt' a little inflexible.
Wareham Forest is a good quality site which we would use again, especially at this time of the year when they are still low season, and Hunter's Moon CC site, just down the road has already began it's price hike.
