Touring by motorhome In the depths of winter can turn out to be a bit of a gamble when choosing a site. Well having read the previous reviews we thought we would give the park a try. Upon arrival, we were plesantly supprised, by the heavily gravelled drive, not a puddle or drop of mud in sight. Having signed in at reception and armed with the site map, we easily found our pitch beside the south toilet / shower block. No need for chocs as the pitch was perfectly level. The showers are absolutely brilliant, fully central heated and kept immaculately clean as was the entire site. To be perfectly honest It's best kept site I have been on and was evident by seeing staff going about their chores. Being in the middle of a forest does have it's problems and TV reception is very poor well bloody awfull really. Having said that, it did not stop us having a wonderfull time. It is a superb site and an ideal base for days out to Swanage and it's Railway, Corf Castle, Lulworth Castle and Cove, Monkey World Bovington Tank Museum, Weymouth, Portland Bill. And seeing we had travelled 300 mile, and were on the south coast we had to nip over to Portsmouth to see HMS Victory And HMS Warrior. Now who said you could'nt enjoy a weeks holiday in November in England. Definitely earmarked for future visits to Dorest.

Stayed on this site with two friends who hired motorhome for their first experience at touring / camping. We all had a fantastic time. The weather was perfect, the facilities were all kept clean all throughout the day and night (although with such a hot summer there were plenty of daddy longlegs to share the shower with!). We stayed out of term time so were probably lucky with the noise level, but the children that were on site were well behaved and they had a huge and safe equipped play area to keep them occupied. We were on a fully serviced pitch which provided plenty of space for the caravan, awning and car and is definitely worth paying that little extra for. The surrounding area of Wareham is perfect, especially for cycling and walking our dogs (although watch out for ticks which one of mine brought home with him!). There is so much to do in the area. Whilst our men played golf at the local golf club, we went horse riding at the local riding stables for a couple of hours right through the forest and had wonderful views overlooking the Isle of Wight, Bournemouth and Studland Bay. Great central point for visiting other areas such as Weymouth (approx. 20 miles), Bournemouth, Poole and Studland Bay to name but a few. The staff are friendly and always on the go keeping the site clean and tidy. Well stocked shop on site and lots of tourist information leaflets on hand. Didn't try the swimming pool but again looked very clean and welcoming. A definite must for couples and families alike. We were so impressed with the area and the campsite that we are planning to go back on a regular basis next year. 10/10!

We recently returned from a weeks camping at this wonderful park the site is clean and safe Pitches are large although a little walk to toilet blocks we didnt find is too much trouble. Staff are excellent. The shop stocks just about anything you could think of that you might have forgot. Fresh bread and coissants in morning. We have a 6year old boy and he spent most of the time on his bike through the woods. First time we really felt he was safe to do so while we strolled a little way behind him The outdoor pool is great. No complaints and will be certainly returning next year.

Great site. Lovely, but cold pool. Clean clean clean facilities. Nice little stocked shop that sells a small amount of camping gear. Great walks in the forest. Ideal for trips to Swanage. And Corfe Castle. A few more smiles and helpfulness from the staff would have made it perfect though. Would go again.

This was our first camping trip and I booked this site based on the positive reviews on this website. Having been and spent a fabulous four days with my husband and our two daughters (aged 4 and 18 months) my worry now is that we will struggle to find somewhere else as good. We arrived in what could not have been heavier rain, and even I was digging deep to maintain a positive outlook. As we checked in however the sun came out and it stayed that way for the duration of our visit. We had a great woodland pitch about 2 minutes walk to the shower block. We arrived on a Friday around lunchtime and we had a good choice of pitches, but we could see where the problem areas might be if the rain did come back. The woodland area and route to the showers were muddy, but it seemed that the children's enjoyment levels increased with how muddy they were, so not a problem. We mainly used what looked to be the newer shower block of the two and it was really clean and there were only ever short queues. The family bathroom was great for us and overall we were really impressed with the facilities. We had great days out at Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, and Durdle Door was breathtaking. We went to Monkey World, or "Empty Enclosure World" as it seemed for the large part too, but we also had a great time just being around the site. The children loved the pool and the play area, but most of all just running up and down a muddy slope that was close to our tent with all the friends that they made! This was such as great place to start our camping career and we will certainly be back.

Great site. Fantastic clean loos and showers. Have to book up ages in advance for electric pitch, we didn't and stayed in the free camping area. Long walk to the loos. Good size pitches, you must leave 20foot around your unit on free camp area. Shop sells hot croissants in the morning, choice of anything else very very limited. All in all a great site, would go again.

We visited this site for the second year running and opted for electric hook up for the First time which made a real difference. The site is immaculate with excellent toilet and shower blocks . The shop is well stocked and reasonably priced. The staff go out of there way to be friendly and showed a lot of patience with our young children spending their holiday money. All visitors are extremely friendly and the peaceful setting makes it impossible not to relax. The site is very central and only half hour drive to many places Bournemouth, Poole, Studland,Sandbanks, Weymouth and New Forest. We will more than likely return next year , as you will struggle to get a better site anywhere.

This is what camping should be about, top site in a beautiful setting, good amenities and services and superb fresh bread in the morning, pitches well laid out and good shelter against any bad weather. All local attractions are easily reached by car and this site provides a great base to explore the beautiful dorset coastline and its many attractions. Wareham's not too far away by car and provides some excellent pubs to eat at. Definately one to go back to but you need to book really early if you want electric hook up.

We've visited WFTP several times over the years, and have to say the new management is definitely welcome. Don't get me wrong; this site has always been at the top end of the market- and justifiably so. It's just that in the past, the 'customer service' hasn't always quite matched up to the premium pricing. I booked up once again, because quite simply it's the best kept / quality site in the area- and was pleasantly surprised with the subtle change of atmosphere. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional- and really went out of their way to make our stay a pleasure. The shop / bakery / off-licence is excellent & fairly-priced, and the pool is great. Moans & groans? On a non-electric tent pitch, you're faced with either a long walk to the loos / showers- or (as we did) have to put up with a constant stream of people taking a short cut straight through your pitch on their way to the. The seasonal & touring 'van pitches are nearest to the shop / pool / facilities; they pay more than us tenters, so fair enough- but in the wee small hours, they also have their own loos. Why is there still no toilet / shower block up in the tent area? OK, moan over- it's (still) the best site in the area, and of course I'll be booking again. enjoy!

When I phoned up to find out if there were spaces I was warned that it was a quiet site but on getting to the site found this not to be true as hordes of screaming kids running around and car stereos blaring but it did go quiet at about 11.30pm the toilets were clean and the pitch was good but there was a long walk to the showers and pool. As this is one of the few sites I could find with a pool that lets you stay for less then 4 days I may go again.
