 A truly excellent site.

The staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived until we left.

The site is well cared for, the amenities were first class. In particular the shower blocks were excellent, clean, generous in size, good water pressure in the showers (at peek times) and warm.

The family showers were especially good, myself and my two daughters had plenty of room and it was nice to have the toilet and handbasin in the same room. The fixtures and fittings used were high quality (hotel standard).

The washing-up areas included two sinks with double drainer, making washing up easy to do and we never had to wait long to use them at peek times.

The site shop was useful (bought playing cards and books), the food on site was also good, a fish and chip van came (best fish and chips ever) and the breakfast cafe was also lovely.

The kids play area was excellent, plenty of things to do, sturdy and well cared for.

This site had some good rules which meant no late night noise was tolerated and the pitching rules were practical and adhered to. The pitch sizes are generous and well planned out. Only a short walk from the amenity blocks / shop / cafe.

I would recommend this campsite to anyone, we have already booked again for 2011.

Spent the first 10 days of August here and was not disappointed. The site was over 3/4 full and not once did we have to queue for a shower. The showers were immaculate and very well thought out.

The pitches were varied, we had a lovely seclude pitch in a private gladed area with sea view. Well worth asking on booking. Great play area and well maintained. Very friendly staff.

Perfect location for touring North Devon, 1.5 miles from the Golden Sands of Woolacombe perfect for a traditional family holiday. Good bus service outside site direct to both Ilfracombe and Woolacome.

A truly lovely site which we will definitely return to. Only thing which we would have found useful to know is the campsites road aren't suitable for scooters but good for bikes. We were visited by friends staying on local sites who too were very impressed with Warcombe Farm facilities.

We stopped here for 8 nights the first week of the summer holidays with our 7 and 15yr olds on pitch 36 2 rows away from the play area-ideal pitch if you have small children.

Some lovely secluded pitches at the bottom of the site if you want a peace and quiet. Toilet and shower block is good didn't have to wait for showers but the last couple of days it did get much busier. Cleaned every day but not all campers kept them that way.

Wardens were lovely always bustling around keeping the site tidy. Lots of people fishing in the small pond but beware of the mosquitos. Shop was well stocked.

Woolacombe beach is very good plenty of lifeguards about lots of little pools for kids to fish in with their nets at the north end of the beach. Car parking a bit steep at £6 a day. Woolacombe is a good location for a family holiday with children with plenty to do-would recommend it!

We (2 adults, 3 children-15,9 & 18 months) visited here the last week in July and even though there had been quite a lot of rain the previous weeks found the ground to be really good-enough 'give' to get pegs in without being that wet that you could pull them straight back out again.

We had had slight reservations about the site before arriving as it was more expensive than we usually pay however I think it was money well spent. As already mentioned by others staff were always noticeable, driving round on their little buggys, emptying bins, cutting grass etc.

We stayed on the left hand side of the lake along with the grandparents who were in a motorhome which was ideal for my fisherman father as all he had to do was cross over, walk through the gate and cast his rod! He is a very experienced angler and while I personally can't comment on the fishing he said more than once it was a decent lake to fish.

My oldest son and daughter enjoyed the freedom of being able to ride around safely on their bikes and play in the fenced off playground. The dog thought she was in heaven with the massive dog walking area! We also made good use of it kiteflying. Even our youngest enjoyed feeding the ducks everyday.

There is now,new this year I believe an aviary in a quiet corner of the dog field with a wildbird breeding program being set up. We visited this and while it was interesting to view I think some information signs about the birds would have been useful.

Woolacombe and Ilfracombe are your typical tourist seaside spots-very busy beaches and shops selling overpriced buckets and spades.

The village of Mortehoe was simply lovely, very picturesque with traditional old church and the B&B there does scrumptious cream teas which you can sit outside to eat while watching the world go by!

If you go by car out of the main entrance and take your first left down a hair-raisingly narrow road you come across the fab secret of Lee Bay. This has a small shingle beach with rock pools for exploring and a delightful little cottage cafe selling very reasonably priced cream teas and sandwiches etc.

All in all a lovely area and a campsite we are already thinking of returning to in October.

 I'd totally echo DeadlyD's comments,

However if you plan on walking to Mortehoe avoiding the roads buy an OS map it is worth it.

It is fairly pricey, £30 a night isnt too far off Travel lodge money.

However if it is family camping you want then this is perfect with a variety of pitches from open plan to secluded 'cubby' holes(although large).

Attention to detail such as someone coming to the pitch and explaining things, workers constantly buzzing around fixing / cleaning / mowing the effort is evident.

Agree with most comments. Beautifully maintained site. Everything from open pitches for groups of friends to secluded pitches for just the one tent.

Friendly staff made us feel very welcome. A chap even waited and showed us to our pitch and then told us where nearest water, recycling were and quickest way to the showers.

Shower and toilet block was fantastic. Underfloor heating is brilliant. Toilets, sinks and shower cubicles (with stools and lots of shelves!) were immaculately clean.

The staff were forever trundling around on their buggies maintaining the site - cleaning up, emptying rubbish, mowing the pitches etc.

All in all was delighted and thought it was quite good value for money.

Site is a mixture of small individual pitches set into trees and open pitches

Very good kids play area at top of site however this is quite a long way if you are at the bottom of the site, as we were.

Site is very well maintained with immaculate shower blocks.

If you have a dog you would be hard pressed to beat this site. The dog walking field is 14 acres and planted with >12,500 trees ! It is not only great for walking the dog but good for kite flying and such like.

Can recommend walking down into Lee, walk through the dog field, into the next field, cross the road, over the next stile opposite then follow the path down into the valley. Beach is great for rock pooling and scrambling around.

Large fishing lake in middle of site if you into that sort of thing

My only criticism of the site would be that the toilet blocks are both some way away if you are at the bottom of the site, not good if you really have to go !

Quite expensive for what it is, however we would still go back again, so would the dog !

Brilliant site, our second visit and each time we have stayed a week out of the main 'season'.

The toilet and shower blocks are spectacular - always warm, very large showers and spotlessly clean at all times. Very luxurious if camping in the cooler months as we mainly do.

Many of the pitches around the edges are landscaped with bushes or dry stone walling.

In the centre of the site is a fishing lake for those who want to partake, This is safely fenced off so that children don't accidentally roam in.

The site has very friendly owners, and you can buy essential things like wine, bacon, chocolate biscuits and milk (!) from the small shop in the office.

You can walk to Morthoe over the cliffs from the site, which takes about 45 minutes and is very beautiful. You do need a car to get into Woolacombe to visit the stunning beaches.

Staff were very helpful when I had to change our booking due to a major operation, but not so helpful when we arrived.

We felt as if we were a pain staying on site as it was the end of the season and they obviously wanted to get on with closing down. Toilets were closed with no notice and we had to find an alternative gas supplier as reception was never open.

Yes the posh loos are lovely but a little more friendliness would be nice too.

Wonderful area with wonderful walks and views--hopefully where we will retire, but I would not choose to stay at Warcombe again--poor value for money.

Our 1st stay at Warcombe Farm.

The staff are lovely & helpful.

The Toilets/Showers/Washing up facilities are really great and very modern.

The pitches all vary on the site. We had quite an open pitch but had plenty of room around us. There are some really nice secluded pitches around the site which would have been nicer so if you are asked. Get one of those! we will next time. Very nice indeed.

Even though we had some high winds and driving rain which drove a few campers away during our visit it was still a lovely place to stay. We found the on site cafe handy a few times. Especially when you arrive in the afternoon tired you can grab a pasty and chips. The shop had all the basics milk/bread/wine/beer etc.

Oh. The dog walking field/area is massive and lovely.

All in all we were happy with the site, I know it's a little more expensive than most but the staff were always around cutting grass, emptying bins, cleaning stuff.

I would go back anytime. Just give us the weather!
