We visited this site last week. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our pitch was fairly near the top of the site not too far away from the play area. Our girls really enjoyed this but unfortunately the weather was really bad (rain and strong winds)so did not make the most of it. The first 5 or 6 rows of pitches from the top of the site are very exposed to the elements. The pitch size seemed a bit on the small side and we were asked to make sure that we stayed within the brown lines but there were several other campers pitching gazebos outside these. A small shop and takeaway were handy and quite reasonably priced. We made good use of the family shower rooms to de-mud ourselves (underfloor heating was a bonus but the showers could have been hotter!). Unfortunately out of the six rooms one of the showers was out of order for the whole week and so were two of the hairdryers (the ones that worked were only 20p). The toilets were cleaned every day but it was quite a big site and the facilities in constant use - could have done with being cleaned twice a day as the paper towel bin was constantly full and all over the floor getting stuck to peoples feet! A lovely fishing lake in the middle of the site which a lot of people seemed to be using. The surrounding area included beautiful beaches at Woolacombe and Croyde (road to Croyde was mostly single track). Ilfracombe had a little harbour with the usual seaside shops, 2 small supermarkets and a tescos and an Aquarium which was quite cheap and focused on fish found in local waters. So, to sum up our experience we would say the site was good, a little expensive, good facilities but could be a bit cleaner, friendly staff and beautiful views(weather permitting!)

Visited this site during a soggy August. Considering the rain the grass fared pretty well with only a couple of areas I saw showing signs of waterlogging. The site is probably the largest (and most expensive) we have visited but the facilities were ample. The new toilet/shower/washing up block was very nice and always clean and was probably the best we have come across. Despite these facilities seeming always to be busy, we never had to wait to use any of them.
There is a shop and takeaway on site - handy for when it is too wet to cook your own!
Mortehoe has 3 pubs and is a nice little village. There is a lovely coastal walk that can be started from the campsite that takes you to Mortehoe and then on to Woolacombe.
On the negative side - we found the pitches to be very small. In fact you have to be shown to your pitch when you first arrive - as we were told by the warden 'so that you do not pitch an inch outside of your area' ! Fortunately we were in the secluded part of the site which is lots of small areas separated by trees but at the top side of the site, it seems you are pretty much looking straight into the tent opposite. Additionally, there is an ice block freezing service, which you have to pay for. Great to have this facility but at the price you pay per night, you would think it would be provided free of charge.

Have just returned from a 2 week stay at this site and although I agree wholeheartedly with the comments about the cleanliness of the site, toilets and showers that are second to none, good play park for the kids etc, I have come away wondering whether it was all really worth the expensive fee.
Personally, I would be happy to pay £150 less a fortnight for slightly less superior, but still more than adequate facilities!
The washing machines and tumble driers are expensive to use - £4 or £5 for a washing machine cycle and 50p for about 30 mins drying. I wash by hand but still had to put a £1 in to spin my washing before drying it.
We were fortunate to have a level pitch but beware, quite a lot of the pitches are sloping - check when you book would be my advice. Also the top field near the entrance is very windy!
As far as the staff are concerned - a little customer service wouldn't go amiss. I rarely saw a smile from the staff manning the shop/reception and although I mentioned the number of cars parked opposite our pitch (due to the way people had pitched) made it look more like a car park than a camp site, nothing was done about it.
Perhaps I was expecting more because of all the fantastic reviews on this site, but I can honestly say there are many other campsites in this area which are just as good but charge a lot less.

On arrival at the campsite we received a warm and helpful welcome. We were escorted to our pitch, which was huge with electric hook up, and given instructions on where to best place our trailer tent. It was a sloping pitch right by the fishing lake, with a lovely view across the lake. We were advised to pitch the trailer tent with the hitch facing outwards in case we needed to be towed off the pitch (a bad weather precaution). We experienced terrible weather over the coming week but the pitch did not flood at all. The camp site is on top of a hill so gets the brunt of the weather coming off the Atlantic. You need to use strong pegs with the guy ropes!
The facilities on the site were excellent in every way - underfloor heating in the showers which was luxurious. The take away was a welcome distraction from the weather with an extensive menu. The fishing lake is very picturesque but you will need to purchase a permit to fish. Note: these are checked ramdomly every day. The site is very well kept. It was full most of the time we were there and at no time did the facilities become unkempt. The site is about a mile out of Mortehoe and just behind Woolacombe. Not really within safe walking distance anywhere, although you can access the costal path from the back of the camp site. Plenty of places to eat nearby (short drive).
The beach at Woolacombe is huge and tends to get really busy. The beach at Croyde (approx 6 miles down the coast) is much smaller with excellent surfing. Ilfracombe is about 4 miles and has a cinema, shops, restaurants and nice harbour area.
I'd go again but not with a tent of any sort - all that flapping canvas! Didn't seem to matter how tightly we guyed it down it was still making a racket. Didn't last the 10 days we had booked, came home after 6.

Just back from a weeks stay at this great site, as all the other reviews before state very clean site, friendly staff and as for the shower and toilet blocks one of the best we have seen spotless at all times night or day. Some of the pitches are on a slope some on flat grass, and others very private. I agree with other reviews that they are in need of another toilet block at the far end of the site. Visited the local pub, the carvery was very good but would not fancy walking at night in the dark as the lanes are very narrow and no street lights. Plenty to do and see near the site or as my husband did just sit by the lake and fish, kept him happy for hours. We took our bikes with us but that's as far as they went, the hills far to steep for us - lol.

We had a lovely time at this campsite. All the reviews that we read were true: the facilities were great and very clean, it is generally very well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful.
It was very quiet, but since we arrived shortly after a storm that apparently wrecked 30 tents, I think we timed it just right!
The campsite shop is very small, though does stock the essentials. The family shower rooms are fab - huge, with a shower, basin and loo all in the same room. There weren't many of them (6? 8?), so at busy times I should imagine there would be quite a queue. However, the standard showers were also very spacious. There are only two blocks for the whole campsite - fine for us in a half empty site, but I wonder how stretched they would be in peak summer season.
Some of the pitches have a gentle slope, so you need to be able to pitch your tent accordingly, or be happy to roll!
Brilliant on-site take-away served good meals like lasagne, chilli and curry as well as the more standard fish and chips (theirs is much better than the local chippy!), pizza etc.
At the bottom of the campsite is a big field that has been planted for woodland where they intend to put picnic tables and can walk dogs. Lovely to see a site taking such a long term view and being prepared to commit to such a project.
However, the pitches at the far end of the site are a long way from the loos, so my suggestion would be another loo/shower block somewhere down there.
Generally excellent site, would go again.

In summary a very good medium sized camp site. A little expensive, but a safe choice. Lots of things to do so a good choice for a weeks visit.
Plus.
Shower block - excellent family shower rooms. All exceptionally clean. WELL DONE
All the pitches are well tended for and superbly presented before arrival.
Lower field pitches are nicely arranged aND screened to enable privacy
Lots of things to see and do nearby.
The rock pools at nearby Lea are superb. Pub in the ajoining village first rate.
Play area for the kids fantastic
On site carp lake . Great fun for father and son.
Negative.
Little expensive relative to other sites of this price. In addition there are charges for most every other extra. Eg £9.60 to rent a rod for a few hours fishing.
Shop is a little sparse, but OK
Upper field ( near the entrance) is new. A little open and many pitches on a slope.
The english weather . But not the fault of the site!

WOW, My 1st camping experience, never before have I been so nervous. Well My nerves were calmed the minute we arrived. It's beautiful. The staff were really friendly. They said it wasn't that busy so they had given us pitch 148, but if there was another we preferred, we could set up there and just let them know. Ok so it started to rain the minute we pitched up but that didn't dampen my spirits.
The very first thing I did was check out the toilets, my husband thought I was mad but he's a regular camper and didn't understand the importance. The bathrooms were lovely I've stayed in five star accomodation in Mexico and they could not compare to the facilities in Warcombe Farm. I especially loved the family bathrooms.
Laundry room was great didn't really use it as just myself and husband.
Country walk was lovely and local pubs were again brill. No complaints from us.
Very pictuesque setting, would reccomend it to anyone that has never been camping before, eases you in to the process.
Will go back asap.

We booked this site after reading the reviews for a 5 night break August Bank Holiday week. We were not disappointed. Beautiful views, very helpful staff and the onsite takeaway was very good and very reasonable.
The showers are superb with masses of room which I could take myself and my daughter (10) and son (2) in with me. To solve the problem of my son not liking showers, as most 2 year olds dont, I took a large plastic crate which we had used for transporting supplies etc in the shower room and filled it up with warm water from the shower. He then happily sat in it like a bath and I could get him clean without all the yelling and screaming a shower would've caused and had something to carry all the wet towels and dirty clothes back to the caravan in. Loads of room to get dressed withough paddling in puddles of water and we took a lot less time and water than if we'd had to use a small cubicle one at a time.
The proximity to Woolacombe/Saunton beaches is great with a short drive to either and parking at £5 for the day I considered pretty reasonable. The staff on site were very helpful but the shop was very basic. The kids play area was great fun and suited both 10 year old and 2 year old, all I had to do was pull up a camping chair and sit and drink coffee while reading my book with one eye on the kids. My 10 year old loved the zip wire and most of the children were very well behaved and didnt hog it.
She made a few friends while queueing and cant wait to go back. The husband would've loved to try the fishing lake out but the 2 year old wont allow it at the moment so cant comment on it. The site is not cramped, although because we booked quite late we were on a pitch next to the main road down the hill through the site, which with a 2 year old boy isnt ideal and quite a few of the drivers didnt stick to the speed limits so extra vigilance was called for on our part.
We cannot recommend this site highly enough, not too big and not too small, facilities excellent and we'll be returning asap.

We stayed on the site at the end of the season. Some of the pitches where a bit bare on grass but the grounds are excellent. The sunsets and sunrises where amazing. We had a larger pitch with electric hook up, it was nice and secluded with plenty of trees and you were not right on top of your neighbours.
The showers and toilets were the best we have ever seen, very clean new and stylish with everything you could need and more, we particuly liked the fact there was a bath so after a long days cycling on the Tarka trail it was great to have. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, we altered our booking a few times and nothing seemed a problem.
We really liked the wooded area that they had planted, where you can join the footpaths to lee, or just let the dog loose.
Everything is covered here and we struggled to find anything to criticise, only thing would be no plugs in one of the shower blocks for the hairdryer.
The village of Morthoe is walkable but we always drove, the local shop had all we needed and there are two pubs. Woolacombe is an excellent beach but beware as kite buggies are not allowed. The roads to the campsite are good, unlike many of the Devon roads. We are busy planning when to return again.
