We really liked this site, it is well run and managed and this shows, there wasn't anything about the site I found disappointing.

The things we liked: Entrance is by security barrier, (no deposit required), toilets and showers are modern and clean, in the showers each cubicle in the ladies has shelves, a hook and a stool, they are also massive cubicles which makes showering children so much easier - and of course the underfloor heating is lovely.

Pitch sizes were good and well marked out with varied options, some are very private, others not. The site map doesn't do the layout justice in my opinion. There is lots of hedging which breaks up the site and pitches.

Playground great for the kids. Dog walk great area - we have no dog but liked it! Leads directly to coastal footpath another plus point.

Reception/the shop is small but had a varied stock for the essentials plus some camping bits.

Staff went the extra mile, it was only when we came home that we found out how great the staff at Warcombe are, we realised once home (about a week after leaving the site) that we had lost a tent pole, I emailed Warcombe and one of the wardens was kind enough to go and look around the pitch we had been on, luckily for us our pole was still there and was posted back to us, needless to say we are very grateful.

Location great for beaches. We travelled to The Big Sheep for a day out and would recommend for kids, lots to do there including very reasonable laser tag which you can book in for 1/2hr etc.

Woolacombe has plenty of restaurants and takeaways.

Whilst the tariff is rather steep on this site, I would still return and definitely recommend to others.

Just returned from a few nights at Warcombe Farm during the school half-term break.

Positives

1. Site - spotlessly clean all round, flat pitch overlooking a lovely lake and with sea views. Lots of space for our large tent, very safe site for children and our kids loved the large play area. Some pitches offered excellent privacy. If you own a dog you will love the acres of dog walking area at the bottom of the site.

2. Staff - Very friendly and helpful. We were shown to our pitch by the warden (nice touch) and we found the reception staff to be very helpful.

3. Wash rooms - This is the thing that makes this campsite stand out amongst others. In our block there were six WC's, each with private wash basin and dryer. There were also six luxurious family wetrooms with power shower (a real treat), WC and washbasin. The underfloor heating was fantastic. Our block also had very clean and spacious dishwashing and laundry facilities

4. Lake - The on-site fising lake is excellent I had a short session on the lake and caught carp, tench and roach almost every cast. Great for kids or beginners. You don't need fancy baits, a tin of sweetcorn will produce lots of fish.

5. Location - Woolacombe has a fantastic beach with plenty of parking and good shops. I would highly recommend the clotted cream/golden syrup waffles from the hut just behind the entrance to the beach car park. Morthoe is a very pretty little village and has a good fish/chip shop.

Negatives

1. Take Away Food - We got turned away 15 minutes before the take-away counter was due to close on the night we arrived. Other people told me they had been waiting an hour. I put this down to the monsoon rains we were experiencing that night and the kitchen staff were probably experiencing some unexpected demands. The service here was certainly not in keeping with the whole experience.

2. Queues - The downside of the luxurious, spacious bathrooms was that we had to queue for 10-15 mins during busy periods. On balance, the wait was well worth the experience, and who's in a rush anyway? If you are, get out of bed a little earlier and you'll avoid the rush.

Overall, this place is first class and I would recommend it without hesitation. We look forward to a return visit when the weather improves.

I found this site by luck and what an excellent site and service Warcombe Farm offer. The facilities of washroom, showers and level of hygiene are far better than many hotels I have been to. The under floor heating of the shower room was luxurious and well needed after a wet day on the beach.

The staff are very informative and friendly. I cannot praise Warcombe Farm and its staff enough for making our family holiday such a pleasure.

I would definitely be returning here the next time I and my family visit Woolacombe

First time visiting Warcombe Farm and generally go to Camping and Caravanning Club sites. The quality of this site was very good. Large pitches (some secluded and private), very good toilets and showers. The site is attractive with good facilities e. G. Fishing lake, children's playground, shop and take-away. A very good dog walk - the best I have come across. The site is very near to Mortehoe and Woolacombe for restaurants and good beaches. All-in-all the site is very good, but does come at price. Due to the location and good facilities the site is significantly more expensive than the majority of 'non-commercial' sites e. G. Camping and Caravanning Club sites. However, the facilities, location and good layout of the site make the price worthwhile. I will be returning for another enjoyable holiday at Warcombe Farm.

We have just spent a week here 2 adults one child and a dog.

The campsite itself is lovely! very friendly staff and the site is well maintained.

The family shower rooms are in my son's words 'awesome'!

The small zip wire in the great play area was a plus too.

Our dog absolutely loved the dog walk area the fact that some of it is mown and the part by the trees left to grow meant that he was in his element springing up and over the tall grass.

The map's sold in the shop are great to show all the lovely walks.

I can recommend the bacon baps from the on site take-away. The on site shop has the basics which is great.

We will definitely be back next year!

We have just returned home following our 10 day holiday at Warcombe Farm in our touring caravan.

This site is by far the best we have stayed at so far in our 8 years of camping and caravanning holidays. It is clean, friendly, well organised and the facilities, location and pitches cannot be faulted.

We stayed on a premier pitch which was enormous. Plenty of room for car, caravan, awning, picnic table, BBQ and bikes. This lovely pitch backed on to the fishing lake which was perfect as we were not overlooked and had a great view over the lake where you can watch the sun go down in the evening.

You can order fresh bread to be delivered to reception every morning which is a nice service.

Showers and facilities were the best we have seen yet and always spotlessly clean and warm thanks to the underfloor heating.

Location is perfect for Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Croyde which is great for surfing.

Really can't find anything negative to say, we even had great weather. I would recommend this site to anyone without hesitation.

Stayed here for 3 nights but had to stay on late arrivals area the first night as we broke down and arrived after 9p. M. We paid for a Premier pitch (£39) so the first night we missed out as we had no facilities, not even electric.

The shower blocks and toilets were excellent, really clean and lots of room. The little shop was handy for essential items and the take away was ok for chips etc.

Although we paid for a premier pitch I would recommend the normal serviced pitches which were more secluded and private, we had no privacy apart from a little fence! The bbq supplied was a small disposable one but luckily we had taken our own gas one.

The site itself is well run and very clean. The play area looked good if you have small children and the lake was nice for fishing. The bus service is good, the stop is right outside the site, but narrow lanes if you wanted to walk.

All in all a nice site but very expensive.

We have been coming as a family to Woolacombe for many years and now our children prefer to come here rather than anywhere else in Britain!

Warcombe if a fabulous site with marvellous shower facilities which are always lovely and warm - no shivering when you come out of the shower.

The fishing lake is lovely for an afternoon relaxing right next to your pitch if you have a gated access pitch which we always prefer.

Dog walks fantastic our labradors love running loose in a safe woodland area. Small shop on site if you forget anything. Larger supermarkets not far away.

Great fish and chips at Braunton (Squires) lovely pubs at Mortehoe to eat out. Normies cafe at Woolacombe for milkshakes and ice creams.

Captains Table in Woolacombe always our first stop for full English breakfast on arrival. Can't wait to come back in October!

Whilst the site is in a great location I'm sorry to say it didn't really do it for us. Perhaps all of the great reviews had made expectations a bit too high.

We were on a an 'Extra Large Pitch Plus' (No 65) in the terraced area of the site and whilst spacious it felt overlooked and a little on the suburban side!

The staff were great and offered us a few alternatives when we arrived but nothing else offered any real advantages.

The shower / loo facilities are finished well as everyone says. However, massive family shower rooms and loos mean fewer units than one might expect for the floor area. Queues are the result.

I can see why some people love the site, and it could be that less than brilliant weather marred our experience, but its not one we're likely to return to.

Have recently returned from a 6 night stay at this site. We had pitch 164, which was a slightly tight fit for our Royal Atlanta 8 (plus side extension). That said, it was lovely secluded pitch, nice and level, and obviously well maintained.

The site staff were unbelievably helpful, showing us directly to our pitch, and offering all sorts of help to get us started. The chap even offered to plug in our EHU for us. I was confident I could manage it unaided though.

We did however manage to split a pole when putting the tent up, and found that our water container had sprung a pinhole leak when filling it for the first time this year. That was how I found out that the site shop is a little low on camping supplies. Nicely stocked with eggs & bacon etc, but you might go wanting if you need some emergency camping gear.

The loos & showers were great, no complaints there (especially as we were reasonably close to them) - but I can imagine it'd be a bit of a hike if your were lower down in the field.

No noise problems, some lovely walks down to Lee & Woolacombe, and nicely located for other walks (Tarka trail etc. ) make this a really pleasant site to stay at.

The provided trails through the lower field makes this a popular camp site with dog owners - but there were no noisy dogs - and no mess. Plenty of bins for all that, so no worries for folk like me who are a little intolerant of mutts.

The aviary in the lower field is interesting, but personally I always find it a little sad to see such wonderful creatures in captivity.

All in all, a great campsite that I'd have no hesitation in recommending to friends, or returning to ourselves.
