1st stay at Warcombe farm and after staying at plenty of other sites feel we can state without fear of contradiction that without a doubt this is the finest site we have ever had the privilege to pitch on . Superb facilities. Loved it so much that not even the weather could dampen our spirits, says everything that we are going back in 2009 in June can't wait.

This is one of our favourite campsites. We came here with a trailer tent (in torrential rain) in August 2008 and this year with a caravan. The bathroom facilities are amazing and there is a family bathroom with baby changing facilities. There's a good playground, albeit not really for toddlers, and great takeaway and a laundry, although we didn't use that so can't comment. My husband tried his luck on the fishing lake - he wasn't successful but others around him were doing well.
The site's well located for the area and Woolacombe beach and there are some good pubs just down the road in Mortehoe too. The site is extremely well looked after and mostly the pitches are really private, although we requested a hardstanding pitch but didn't feel this was a wise choice as we were really tucked away and the pitches aren't very generous. We also didn't have any grassed area around/on our pitch to sit out on.
It still remains one of our favourite sites and deserves its five stars but we'll try to choose our pitch more carefully next time.

This site is extremely well maintained, clean and tidy, bins emptied regularly, lovely play park for the children, friendly and helpful staff, excellent facilities for washing and showering etc. Although I can see the washing up-area would get busy when the site is full.
DH wasn't keen on the fact that the pitches were pre-marked and you weren't able to choose your own area on arrival but I didn't find it a problem.
The site was quite exposed to the elements in places however some of the pitches were more sheltered so do request that if desired.
The reason we chose this site was because of it's proximity to Woolacombe and it was a five minute drive away. The shop on site had ample basic items (milk, bread, butter, eggs, bacon etc.) and operated an ice-pack hire system - the prices were ok for a camp-site.
I thought the cost of £87.50 for 3 nights, 2 adults and 2 children was quite pricey but then I guess they have more overheads in terms of maintenance than some more basic sites.
I would definitely stay here again but would possibly try another one in the Woolacombe area first just to compare.

Have only been camping three times and although we only have one other site to compare it with, I think Warcombe Farm is the Hilton of camp sites. It's beautifully kept and there's plenty of pitch space.
The staff are really lovely and the facilities are fantastic. The loo and shower areas are kept to a very high standard and they're so warm due to the under floor heating. Well posh!
The site owners make it clear to all visitors their rules regarding noise so you're guaranteed a good nights sleep. We went with friends who own a dog and even the pooches have it made when it comes to their doo-doos!
A visit to Lee Bay is a must. You can walk there from the campsite via the woodland walk. Leave the car behind, get yourself an OS map and trot off! On a sunny day it couldn't get much better and there's a lovely pub in Lee village that does great food.
We, and our friends Emma and Neil (who've also written a review) have become very protective of Warcombe Farm. You almost don't want to tell anyone about it because it may mean that everyone will visit and we might never get a pitch again!
There's only two downsides. One, you can't rely on the weather and two, is having to leave Warcombe Farm to come home again.

This was our second time and it was just as excellent as the last time. You can not fault this campsite at all, the facilities and fantastic and clean. Someone was sick on one of the pathways, and within 10 mins a member of the staff had cleaned it up. We walked down to Lee Bay which was fantastic. Our pitch was by the dog walk and we had so much space. This is a great campsite and one we will visit time and time again.

We stayed at this campsite during the school holidays.
**Good Points**
Fantastic showers/toilets and plenty of them.
Lovely walk at the back of the camp site, could be the dog walk but we don't have a dog, lovely all the same. Very quiet at night, perfect for a good nights sleep.
**Points to consider**
Unfortunately they don't take deposits unless you take out their insurance so you have to pay in FULL when booking, unless its changed but it was certainly the case for us in 2008 so worth reading the small print just to be sure.
Very exposed as site is on top of a hill, so be aware in bad or windy weather. Not at all good for tents in windy weather!
Price - Expensive in the school holidays.
Pitch sizes inconsistent, not always as big as stated.

Well, I have to say I disagree with the pitch size, we have a huge trailer tent and awning and were in the secluded area by the lake(113 I think) the weather was terrible and they had obviously had weeks of rain.
Despite the rain the staff were warm and cheerful, just like the welcome. We were personally escorted to our pitch, the road was muddy but the pitch was in perfect condition, we were offered some bark for our walk way which was perfect.
As I have said the pitch was ample and so were the facilities, JUST LIKE A HOTEL! they were always clean, no mud; and the floor was heated! we didn't use the take away but the menu looked brill and our neighbours raved about it.
As I said I can't see the pitch size problem, when we received our booking conformation we were reminded to check our dimensions, there were lots of sized pitches so we gave our dimensions and had plenty or space with room to spare.
Fantastic weeks camping would recommend to all! *****

We stayed here with some friends, and can not fault this site at all.
We had a great pitch and were next to each other so were able to make a good little area which was quite private. The facilties are excellent and at no extra cost.
The dog walk was the best we have ever had, and the site was the most dog friendly.
Excellent value for money, great staff, great facilties and a great location.
We will be staying again!

We arrived on the Monday afternoon to our pitch allocated(as requested by us) directly opposite the kids play area at the top of the site.
However it was too windy and wet to get the tent up and we suffered snapped poles and ripped canvas before deciding to B&B overnight, and try again on Tuesday.
We returned 1st thing Tuesday morning and discussed our problems with the very helpful site manager.
As a result we were moved pitch(and effectively upgraded free of charge)to a spot surrounded by trees, at the bottom of the fishing lake.
(We were also directed to a pole repair man who re-strung 3 sets of poles and replaced 5 split poles for £20)
This pitch was infinitely better and we got the tent up with no further problems.
We were very impressed with the new washing block and never had a wait for any facilities, which were always clean.
A lot of the pitches suffered with waterlogging but the wardens were constantly delivering sand and straw to anyone who requested it to cover the worst mud patches.
With hindsight, the pitches near the play area were not as ideal as they first seemed as kids are allowed on there till 10pm and it is very rarely empty, even in the rain.
I think the constant noise might have been a little annoying after a while and we were more than happy to have the lake between us and it!
Overall the site faired as well as could be expected with the weather it had to deal with, and we found the shop reasonably priced with Take Away an added bonus serving things such as chilli and mousakka, rather than just burger and chips as we first expected.
Overall, we really enjoyed the site and the holiday despite the weather, and will definitely consider a re-visit once we have dried out!

This site is excellent.
We had rain almost every day and the site was becoming a muddy skidpan but they did come and sprinkle sawdust on the mud if asked and towed us off the pitch so they did their best. The play area is one of the best we've seen and the bathrooms are amazing!- underfloor heating and large sensor operated showers - it was posher than at home!
There are some lovely pitches set amongst trees further down the site - we were in a row on a field which was disappointing but that was because I'd booked a 'super-pitch'.There was one night that was so windy the caravan rocked and shook all night which terrified me but the view from our caravan was amazing - we could see the lights on the Swansea coast .There were 3 washing machines and 4 tumble dryers which was really helpful, and all the facilities were spotless.
I would agree with previous reviewers that the pitches in the open fields are a bit crammed in.
It's worth remembering that any pitch is only as good as your neighbours - we had a family with 3 members that coughed unbelievably heartily 24/7 and who let their toddler cry and scream at half past 2 or 6 in the mornings. We can laugh now but it wasn't the dawn chorus we were looking for!
Overall a site that scores 98% with us - we would love to go back but it's taken us nearly 8 hours to get back to Brighton!
