I endorse all the previous reviews. It is really in a great location for getting into town, what a lovely town with so much to see and do all easily reached on foot. Note Park and Ride doesn't run on Sundays neither does alternative bus service #1 (through the alleyway). However we took our motorhome in straight into town to the Frankwell car park. Very large, paid £1 for 10 hours.

Just got home from 6 days at Oxon Hall. We chose this site because it is only an hour from home and we had a new to us caravan to try for the first time. If it was possible to give this place 12 out of 10 then I would. I cannot think of one thing I could find fault with. The site itself is kept immaculate, the showers and toilets are better than you find in a lot of hotels. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We originally booked for 4 nights but stayed an extra 2 days because we loved the place. The on-site shop is well stocked with most things a caravanner might need. They even had the part I needed to repair a leak on our hot water system.
The icing on the cake for us was that a 5 or 6 min stroll took you to the Oxon Hall Park and Ride. No need to use your car to go to Shrewsbury. And cheaper than parking if two of you travel. Another couple of minutes walk takes you to an excellent chippie and a Chinese take-away. Both are next to a well stocked Co-op and a good Pharmacy. There is also a ladies hairdresser and vetinary service on the same precinct.
About 10 mins walk away is a Toby Carvery. Not my cup of tea. But very popular.
We had a hard standing pitch in the adults only section. Plenty of room for the van, awning and car.
An added bonus for us was that the site is over-run with rabbits, blackbirds and lots of other bird species. Plus regular aerobatic displays by a few Buzzards.
All in all. We cant wait to go back

Booked in here for our first trip away in the caravan and was left feeling slightly underwhelmed.
Nice enough site but despite saying we had a 7 year old we were given a pitch on the corner of 4 roadways, hardly the relaxing point we expected tbh.
Our pitch was right behind the adults only section and poor son was told to keep his noise down by 'an angry man'. There were very nearly 2 angry men!
Toilets were clean, site was clean, playground was a little basic and more geared for toddlers than older children.
So in short a nice enough site but I would say more for adults than families with young children.

What a fantastic site and beautiful area.
We recently stayed at Oxon Hall for 2 nights. Having pre-booked a hardstanding pitch in the adults only section we arrived on site to a very friendly and informative welcome. We were booked in very quickly and allocated a pitch, which was large and overlooked the Dell (full of bouncing bunnies most of the time!). The site is immaculate, both grounds and facilities. The central facilities are accessed via a key given to you on arrival and were always spotless. Lovely powerful showers and lots of privacy cubicles. There's a good shop with food essentials and camping gear, and indoor washing up room, a really good information room and a lovely pond with a few tables overlooking it where we sat one afternoon watching a squirrel bury his food!
Just a short walk from the site is a Co-op, fish & chip shop and a lovely Chinese takeaway (that was recommended by the wardens and was really good). Further afield there's a Toby Carvery (we didn't try this) and a Hungry Horse (which we did try and weren't particularly impressed with). The park & ride service into Shrewsbury is excellent and is situated near the Co-op. It runs very regularly from 7:30am but the last bus is early evening (6:45pm'ish if I remember correctly?). It was only £2. 50 for the two of us return - bargain I'd say!
It was our first ever visit to Shrewsbury and what a beautiful place it is. Lots to see and do. We did a boat trip (Sabrina Boat - £8 each) to get our bearings and decide where else to wander to and it was brilliant. After the trip we walked along the river, over many of the bridges and through the parks, the castle and the stunning railway buildings, having lunch in town before our return bus.
We would highly recommend both the campsite and the town and cannot wait to re-visit again soon.

Have to agree with most points from the previous but one very comprehensive review so will only add a few hopefully helpful notes. As mentioned the P&R bus is not free so for concessionary bus pass holders cross the road opposite the Co-op and there is a walkway almost opposite, at the end of the walkway a 15 min No 1 bus service operates to Shrewsbury with the last bus back after 9pm-timetable is in the information room. Used the Toby carvery down the road and was not too impressed, prefer the old Grapes as it used to be-think we'll carry on to the Hungry Horse next time.

We absolutely love this site.
The staff are very friendly and the pitches are fantastic. We also came here in December to do Christmas shopping in Shrewsbury as the location is great having access to the park and ride within walking distance of the site.
The facilities are fantastic and clean. They only have a small shop on site but it does not matter to much as there is a co-op at the top of the drive and you also have a Chinese and a chip shop which are reasonable priced and nice food.
Would recommend this site to anyone.

To Find Site:- From Telford on M54 continue onto A5 to Shrewsbury and continue round bypass to A458 and take road towards Shrewsbury following Oxon Park and Ride signs. Turn left immediately after Co-Op. Follow road past Park and Ride and round to site entrance.
Oxon Touring Park is a nice quality campsite situated on the outskirts of Shrewsbury and is open all year round. It is some way from the main road so traffic noise does not seem to be an issue. It is one of the Morris Leisure Group of campsites. Our stay was in the middle of November and the site was no more than 20% full so difficult to visualise what the site would feel like when it’s busy. There are about 112 touring pitches on a mixture of grass and hardstandings. There is also a totally separate area for mobile homes which are interestingly all painted green! The hardstanding pitches consist of standard and serviced the latter demand an additional nightly fee but you have the advantage of your own water and waste water point and a connection to a co-ax TV signal. Pitches vary in size, some being able to take caravan/awning/car whilst others are perhaps more suitable for motorhomes or just caravan and car. There are a few pitches capable of taking large RV’s. Some of the pitches are in a designated adult’s only area which is clearly marked although pitches seem to be allocated on arrival. Electric points are convenient to all pitches and are rated at 16 amps and use CEE17 blue connectors. All the main services like reception and toilets are at the entrance of the site so some way from the furthest pitches. Access to the toilets is by a key provided on booking in. They are of a good quality with showers and privacy cubicles but the later only have curtains rather than doors. There is an enclosed washing up area with two sinks. The laundry room has two washing machines and two dryers plus an iron and ironing board. Water/waste/ chemical disposal points are dotted around the site. Both water and waste have raised edges of one brick height so containers have to be manoeuvred over. The motorhome service point is opposite reception and requires a heavy metal drain cover to be lifted despite the fact the waste point is profiled to allow water to run downwards towards the drain. For children there is a small play area at the furthest corner of the site. Site wide WiFi is available but is quite expensive at £5 for 48 hours. I found that using my phone as a WiFi point provided a faster speed. The entrance is controlled by an electronic tag for in and out, we were not charged a deposit but my Caravan Club membership card was retained for the length of our stay. Outside of the barriers there is a late arrivals lay-by with four electric points. Best to check with the site re the use of this facility. Inside the reception building is the site shop which does sell a few essentials but mainly it is caravan related items that are for sale and is quite comprehensive. Next door is an information room with details of attractions in both local and wider areas plus a book swap. The site make a particular request that, I assume only in the low season that vehicles are not driven across the grass on pain of a £25 charge! Oxon Park is quite expensive, even in the low season, given that it lacks some facilities that might justify the higher price like a swimming pool or restaurant. However Caravan Club members do get a discount off both pitch and per person fees which is worth slightly more in the low season.
The major advantage of this campsite is that it is quite near the centre of Shrewsbury which is a delight to visit. Not only that but the Oxon Park and Ride is an easy walk from the campsite and they have thoughtfully provided a short cut via a gate into the parking area. Unfortunately no free travel with bus passes on this service but you will get a 50% discount off the regular fare. The bus takes about 10 minutes and runs about every 20 minutes. For food shopping there is a Co-Op supermarket next to the Park and Ride which should meet most needs. Next door there is a Fish and Chip Shop, Chinese Takeaway. The campsite could also be used as a base for exploring the wider area. For eating out there is plenty of choice in Shrewsbury but nearer the site there is a Toby Carvery a few minutes’ walk away and further along the same road is a Hungry Horse

I am sure many of you have already visited Oxon Touring Park in Shrewsbury, judging by how many reviews are here, but here goes. Morris Leisure operate a number of site which all seem to based around Wales and the Midlands, not living too far away myself it is convenient to book and go to any of their sites. I have stayed at them all.
Oxon is situated just outside of Shrewsbury town centre, off the A458. The site entrance is down a long drive, passed a very convenient large Co-Op store and two well recommended take-a-ways there is even a store for your pets. Just passed the shops on the same drive is a park and ride service into the town centre which runs every 15 min. The entrance to the site is well signed and it would be hard to end up in the wrong lane when you first arrive, staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Prices.
I have to say Morris sites are not on the cheap side. But there are a variety of pitches to suite all and the prices reflect that.
Hard Standing
Hard Standing Super pitch
Hard Standing Adults
Hard Standing Adults Super pitch
Grass Adult pitch
Main Park Grass pitch
RV Super pitch
This is what I paid for:
Super Pitch for two people with Electric hook up, TV point, freshwater supply and wastewater drainage for 7days came in at £229. 60
If you are a Caravan Club or Caravan & Camping Club Members there is a discount of £4. 50 off the price. Also there is a £10. 00 deposit for your site keys, for this you get a fob for the electronic barrier and a key for the on site facilities. You don't have to pay this if you are a Caravan Club or Caravan & Camping Club Member when you produces your current membership card.
I have to say having paid for the 7 nights on a super pitch for 2 people I was somewhat annoyed when we had to pay an extra £10. 00 for a porch awning, is this common practice, I'm not sure.
Oxon Touring Park is a well maintained site and is deserving of its 5 star rating. The grounds are beautifully maintained as is the on site facilities. The showers and toilets are first class as is the washing and laundry facilities.
Reception and staff are friendly and helpful, nothing seem to be too much trouble to them. The on site shop could rival some of the main dealer shops as they seem to stock everything you would ever need at competitive prices. WiFi is also available for those of you that can't live without technology and at £15. 00 for a full 7day access I feel it is good value for money.
If you like to go exploring then again Oxon is a great base in which to centre yourselves as you can go and explore the like of the Blists Hill Victorian town at Ironbridge. Here you will be thrown back in time as you explore what it must have been like way back then. My favourite bit was the fish and chip shop followed by a trip to the bakers for some fresh bread. You can go to the bank and exchange you currency into pounds, shillings and penny's and use them to buy thing this gives a real feel of the time long gone. Some of us can still just about remembers the old currency. It's a great day out for all the family or even if you are on your own.
Also keeping on the Victorian theme there is Acton Scott Farm the setting for the TV's Victorian Farm series. The historic Ironbrige and museum, Ludlow food centre, voted Britain's best farm shop, Seven Valley Railway for the steam enthusiasts, RAF Cosford Museum for the aviation enthusiasts. Go Ape Adventure for the kids plus many more attractions all within a reasonable distance from the Park.
If you love shopping then there is Shrewsbury town centre which is just 3 miles away or a park and ride if you don't want to drive. Also there is Telford Shopping Centre. As you can see there is something for everyone.
As I have said the site is well deserving of its 5 star rating and apart from the extra £10. 00 for the porch awning I didn't regret a single thing. Would I recommend this site, yes I would.

Just spent 7 nights at this beautiful park just 2 miles from the lovely city of Shrewsbury. The site is well maintained and the toilets and showers are spotless. A little over priced at 32. 50 per night for a super pitch for 2 adults, an awning and 1 dog, but I can live with that although it is about 8 to10 pounds a night more than we normally pay for a similar site. What I do find expensive is the internet they charged us 15 pounds for a week, where at other sites it is free. And the Internet is not that reliable so be warned it is a rip off. But they give you a loyalty card if you stay at a Morris site for 12 nights you get one night free. The 12 nights can be built up at different dates. We will be going back but won, t be ripped off with the Internet.

Stayed 2 nights at this very neat and well managed site. As others have said, the toilet and shower facilities are very good and the location next to the park and ride means access to Shrewsbury by the regular bus could not be easier. The campsite is attractively landscaped with a pond in one area.
We arrived to a slightly cool reception, possibly because it was approaching 6pm and office seems to close at 5 - and were dispatched briskly but efficiently to our hardstanding pitch. The pitch was one of three on a long uninterrupted area of gravel alongside the main access road. The pitches were large but overwhelmingly 'hard'. There was a very small area of grass at the rear of the pitch for 2 chairs but no space for a table. We couldn't get past the feeling of being parked in a layby - albeit a very clean and tidy one.
Most areas of the campsite are lovely and we were disappointed to be given no choice of where to pitch. We asked if we could move to one of the many free grass pitches but were advised that campervans (however small) are not allowed on grass. The majority of other free hard standing pitches were fully serviced and more expensive, so we stayed put.
Overall, in spite of the good facilities, we were disappointed with our stay and are unlikely to return.
