Stayed at Oxon for 4 days. First impressions were of a very clean, well landscaped, and secure site. Staff friendly enough on check in. The pitches are massive, but you will need good strong rock pegs for your awning. Some are super pitches with water, tv and electricity.
Toilet block was very clean, with loads of showers and washing cubicles. The duck pond was a lovely touch. Dogs are welcome, and there is a dog walk provided which is adequate enough unless you have a mad Sprollie like ours, who needs acres and acres to run around in.
There is a large well stocked shop on site, also, a good sized Co-op at the end of the road, alongside a Chinese Takeaway, and a Fish and Chip / Kebab / Burger Shop.
There is a pub a short stroll from the site which does a Carvery as well as other meals, but gets extremely busy. The park and ride is just a short walk away. Shrewsbury is a lovely place to wander around in -and appears to have lots of places to eat and drink- as is nearby Ludlow - well worth a visit.

We visited this site in our tent over the August bank holiday weekend. I have to say that the site is extremely well kept with all facilities spotless. The toilet and shower block were cleaned regularly so were a pleasure to visit.
The showers were really powerful, probably the best that I've come across, but you have to be aware that they can be adjusted to very hot. The pot wash was just about adequate as there were only two sinks although this was not a problem as there were very few tents on the site.
The waste area that we used was adequate too but there was only one crate for recycling bottles. We were in the 'Adults Only' part of the site so I can't comment on facilities for the youngsters. The staff were very friendly and approachable.
Round and about, Shrewsbury is a good place to visit as is Attingham Park with Wales not too far away. Will visit the site again in the not too distant future.

The site is clean, well-managed, organised and laid out spaciously. In fact, all the positives everyone has said in previous reviews about the site I would agree with. It is first-class.
However, the site is situated a bit 'out of it' and not an area where you can just amble about (or else we weren't looking properly). We found we needed to drive or use the park & ride (which is conveniently close) to do anything.
Part of what we enjoy is the low-key, basics of camping and we didn't really feel 'at home' here. We may be in the minority but thinking about it, I can only say that we felt a little isolated and found the site a bit 'Stepford City'.

Excellent site, friendly and helpful reception staff. Very clean showers and toilets (keys). Only 5 mins walk to a very handy park and ride into Shrewsbury. Well stocked Co-op supermarket at site entrance.
Stayed on Adult only part of site so can't comment on facilities for children, we didn't see any. Weather was wonderful during our stay so spent our evenings outside catching the last rays of the evening sun but there is a pub less than 10 mins walk away serving meals and 2 for 1 carvery.
Note: the ground was very hard for knocking pegs in for awning, had to buy extra at site shop, but that's just a comment not a complaint. All in all a great site which we will be sure to visit again, and again.

Just spent two nights at this site and thoroughly enjoyed it. It
Toilets and shower facilities were very clean, showers had good pressure and water was just the right temperature.
There is a laundry room and dish washing facilities all again spotlessly clean and tidy.
The reception staffs are very friendly and helpful and the shop also stocks plenty of camping equipment etc.
The site is quiet and has an adult’s only section. It is adjacent to the park and ride into Shrewsbury and there is a large co-op by the front gate.
As we were in a motorhome we had to have hard standing which was all gravel except for the grass behind the pitch. We use a drive away awning and found that the hard standing really hard work to get the pegs in. That was probably the only thing that let the site down

An excellent site with great facilities and an excellent location. The site is right next to the park and ride into Shrewsbury which comes in very useful. Right by the site is a good size Coop, a chinese takeaway and a fish and chips shop as well - great for a late night Friday arrival when you are hungry.
The pitches are all a good size and there is lots of greenery including many hedges so that the site does not feel as big as it actually is. The toilet and shower facilities are brilliant - never had to queue at all and everything was spotless at all times.
Would recommend this site to anyone and will be back for a weekend some time soon!

Just spend a week at Oxon Hall and we were very impressed.
The whole site was very clean, tidy and well kept. The reception / shop was well stocked with lots of caravan accessories and contrary to some other reviews, the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
The single toilet block was spotless with plenty of piping hot and fast flowing water on tap for the showers. Good laundry facilities as well.
Our super pitch was close to the washroom which was great for the kids but we still felt secluded as pitches are arranged in small blocks with separating hedges. We were allocated this pitch on arrival though and had no choice of location.
A bit of advice though on the mains water hook up.
1) The bollard was a little further away than the usual CC arrangement, meaning we needed an extension hose for the aquaroll adapter. The shop had a good stock of extension hoses and the genuine aquaroll one at £22.95 was at a lower price than in my local caravan dealers.
2) The fitting on the bollard is a female push fit, so the standard push fit hose fitting won't connect. You need a male to male adapter which I happened to have on board. You can buy these in any DIY shed. Not sure if the shop stocked these but worth noting.
Being half term week there were plenty of other children for our kids to play with. The play area was a bit of a let down with very limited equipment.
The park and ride bus service into Shrewsbury is just a short walk away, as is a well stocked Co-Op and a couple of fast food take aways.
We only tried one local pub/restaurant called The Grapes. It is a 2for1 carvery (although not for the kid's carvery) and it was very reasonable serving up standard carvery type fare and other choices from the menu. Nothing special but perfectly OK.
Plenty to see and do in the area and the information room on the site contained lots of useful info and leaflets.
If we were to head back to the Shrewsbury area again we would definitely head back to Oxon Hall.

Great site easy access off A5. Earlier reviews re unfriendly staff maybe off putting, but we found everyone helpful and pleasant. The pitch fees are very expensive as stated but as caravan club members we received discount. We didn't stay on the adult only area even though we didn't have children very few children about all weekend. Pitch was large we opted for hard standing after wet august. Due to high winds didn't bother with awning but as stated the grass area is a bit small.
As for facilities they were excellent. The disabled shower room could have been cleaner, but staff are not to blame for users who leave the loo in a mess so next user has to clean the seat before use ugh!
Will be visiting again.

This was only our second camping trip of the year and we were very pleased with the site.
Security is excellent with key operated barriers and also the toilet/shower block required a key to enter. There is a returnable deposit required for these.
We were met by very friendly staff who directed but then also met us at our allotted pitch. The whole site is well maintained and laid out. Its also well lit of an evening which is good since the toilets are a bit of a walk depending on where you are pitched. My one criticism is that there could be more toilets around the site rather than just having the one central block.
They are very clean though and there are plenty of units including hand basins in cubicles as well as plenty of showers and toilets.
There is a well stocked shop on site and just as you turn off the main road there is a co-op supermarket/fish & chip shop and a chinese takeaway. There are plenty of good pubs nearby all serving reasonable food so you are spoilt for choice.
Overall, we have a really good weekend and would certainly use this a base for future visits to the area.

We stayed overnight on this site towards the end of our holiday. We had no trouble finding the site, there is a park and ride next door, which was very handy and also a Co-op, fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway and even a vets practice.
We had a slight delay booking in as we arrived at the same time as two other units. The staff were pleasant enough and give plenty of information about the site. You do need to pay a £10 deposit for the key to use the facilities, which are extremely clean.
We had requested hard standage and were provided with a plot predominately gravel which was a bit of a shame, there was a small grassed area around the plot.
The site is very well maintained and has a small playground and duck pond. We did feel however that it was a little too formal.
Although a good site which was very well maintained and it's good location to shops and the park and ride, it is unlikely that we would return as we prefer a little less formality
