Really nice site. Hard to find any fault at all.

Very well kept and maintained site. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Facilities are pretty spotless and clean. The pitches were spacious and well kept.

The site is well situated to visit Shrewsbury. The park and ride is next door and was a bargain at £2. 50 for 2 adults return. Even though don't run on sundays you can cross the main road and walk between the houses and you'll find the number 1 bus stop. It was a little more expensive £2 per adult each way. Not the worse deal though.

The grapes inn was about 50 yards down the main road. Really nice pub that serves 2 for £10. So again another very good deal. There's even a large co-op within spitting distance just in case you need to re-stock.

Shrewsbury was a pleasant surprise too. Very pretty in places. Was lovely to walk around the park and admire some of the older buildings.

Sure the showers were a little on the snug side and there were only 2 sinks in the dishwashing area but these are only very minor points and certainly not deal breakers.

 Approach

Very well sign posted from the A5 and the road the site is on, very easy access.

Staff on arrival

Exceptionally welcoming, greeted me by name, which was very impressive! Fully explained everything.

Pitch

We had an adult hard standing pitch, it wasn't the largest pitch we've had but it was ok. It had a slight slope so we needed levelling blocks, several of the vans had some sort of levelling in place. The electric hook up was quite a way away on this pitch, so the long cable was needed. Water etc was all close by.

Facilities

Excellent, extremely clean, I agree with previous reviews the shower curtain is a bit of a pain - there is a laundry, and a well well stocked shop. The site is Safe with a barrier. The site is very quiet.

Local area

There are several pubs close by but we didn't use them, we did however use the chip shop, which was very nice. There is a Chinese take away as well and a Co-op, all of these are at the end of the long drive which leads up to the site, which is very convenient. As is the park and ride which takes you in to shrewsbury, which if you have never been to you really have to visit this beautiful market town.

Summary

The site is up to the usual high standard of the other Morris leisure sites we have stayed at, nice wardens, good facilities, quiet, spacious, modern site.

Arrived early evening mid December to a courteous and efficient welcome.

What a lovely surprise to see so many Christmas decorations around and inside the reception area, draped over the hedges and fences and in the windows of the wardens mobile home. Made you feel really good.

Walked to the Park and Ride where a return ticket to Shrewsbury is £2-50 return for a group of up to 5 people. Bargain!

Caravan club membership gives a small discount and you are awarded a free night after staying 12 nights on Morris Leisure sites.

We've been to this site to do our Christmas shopping 6 years running - great site to visit a great town. Lots of independent shops. It's what makes town centres interesting.

We'll be back here next year.

Just back from a two night stay at this lovely site, had a really lovely warm welcome from the young lady in the reception on arrival, the site facilities are excellent (shower curtain does cling though)real warm toilet/shower block with plenty of hot water, good free showers, pitch was a good size, really found it handy having a water tap on the pitch but wasn't able to use the waste water drain as van waste water pipe was on the wrong side and I would have needed about 8ft of waste pipe to be able to use it.

It was just a shame that when I went into the reception during my stay and also when I went in on leaving to hand back the keys that the same lovely young lady wasn't behind the reception as the two people that were behind there certainly didn't come across very friendly at all and I felt it was an effort for them to speak to me, no conversation at all, not even hope you enjoyed your stay or safe journey home. Sorry Oxon Hall these two people really let you down.

We used the park and ride and had a nice day out, also walked to the local pub which sold a good choice of beers and the menu looked good to.

Just back from 5 wonderful nights at this top class site.

Very friendly reception, everything explained fully.

Great Pitch, plenty of room and enough space for van, awning & tug. Toilet block warm & clean. Very good local facilities.

Only strange issue is the lack of places serving food on a Sunday evening in Shrewsbury!

Will certainly be back as there is so much to see and do in the area.

Cheers

Keith

A really nice tidy site with plenty of room between each unit. Great if you forget anything as there's a co-op right outside which is very reasonable priced. We took the park & ride into town (£2. 50 return for 2) so no need to use the car at all over the weekend! Everything was immaculate and the only point of note was the mildew in the showers, otherwise they were immaculate, have the warden's not heard of flash-spray? Showers great as not push button, really forceful and plenty of hot water, oh but the shower curtains are pain when they stick to your wet body! If we want to visit Shrewsbury again we will definitely stay here!

 This site is immaculately maintained.

The toilet facilities are more than adequate, clean, fantastic showers (possibly one of the best showers). Yes they may be a little dated, but no site can upgrade every few years. The pitches are adequate, we went off peak, so there was plenty of room (despite plenty of room the wardens allowed a tent to be pitched right next to our van, a little inconsiderate we felt, as this chap was quite noisy, it was only for one night in the end, so we did not speak to the wardens). Not enough recycling facilities, and the water point for filling is awkward.

The large Coop is in easy walking distance, as is the cheap public transport with a regular bus service into Shrewsbury.

The ducks are wonderful, entertaining and very friendly.

If you venture into Shrewsbury for a meal, we cannot recommend highly enough 'Cafe Saffron'. Four of us went there and had what could only be described as one of the best meals we've ever had. Great food, great service, great prices! we are returning to the area next year, just so that we can eat her a couple of times.

We note the comments about the staff in previous reviews. Our experience of the staff started when we entered the reception on arrival, two members were sideways onto us sat down, they looked up, looked back down and carried on writing. No greeting. Moments later the lady said 'someone will be with you in a minute' and carried on writing. Set the tone for our expectations of the staff from that point on. The lady who did serve us however was lovely.

We we visit this site again, probably!

Recently spent a week at Oxon Hall and really enjoyed staying there, had a fully serviced pitch which was excellent plenty of room for the motorhome, trailer and smart car.

The grounds were immaculate and really well laid out giving plenty of room and privacy, plenty of wildlife to observe as the site has ducks on the pond and rabbits everywhere! toilet / showers were spotless and always warm and clean a credit to the wardens.

Small on site shop was expensive but stocked all the necessities but there is a co-op just up the road which although haphazard with ignorant staff does have most of your daily needs (although there seemed to be an egg shortage in Shrewsbury when we stayed ??)there is also a Cantonese Takeaway at the entrance to the site which we tried and is brilliant!

So if you need a good site with access to Shrewsbury and all the attractions such as The Iron Bridge Gorge with all its museums as well as easy access to North Wales Oxon Hall is the site to use - First Class !

What a top grade camping park. We just had a great weekend. Lovely and friendly site with lots of rabbits. This site is spotless clean and with only a short 10 minutes walk to a pub with great food and if you what to walk another 10 minutes to another pub which also services good food. Park and ride on the door step but if you feel like a good walk it only took us an hour to walk into Shrewsbury.

Very clean and tidy site which, although busy when we stayed, was quiet and peaceful. We needed to stay only one night, but they would only take 2-night bookings at this time of year. But when we called on the day of stay, one night was fine. Seems a bit petty for a touring park. The park and ride just by the site is excellent - £2. 50 return into Shrewsbury for a couple. As other reviewers have said, a Coop, a chip shop and a Chinese takeaway on the doorstep are a plus. (That said we only used the Coop for barbecue fayre. )

Facilities are clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. We'd stay here again.
