Positives: Nice quiet site, great access to Shrewsbury and also the welsh borders.
Negatives: Considering this is purpose built site the pitches aren't very level, the hookups for the superpitches were a stretch on the cables (we were on pitch 1). Very lacking in character, there is only 1 toilet block for the whole site and anyone up the far end will have quite a trek to it. The dog walk they have is pathetic to say the least - we found a handy public footpath on our last day. Sadly we never saw the wardens smile.
It is a strange site I don't think we will return to it, superb location but not a very good site.

Good, clean and well organised site. Good Coop nearby and P & Ride to Shrewsbury good. Pitches are small and don't allow big tents so we bought another one to fit their regulations! Pitches were small and a bit cramped. Had a tent fire the previous week so gave plenty of advice to prevent it happening again!

Great site in every way the only let down is there is only 1 shower / toilet block which was quite a distance from our pitch and was closed for an hour and a half every day. The block itself was one of the best and cleanest I have ever seen in a lifetime of camping!

Stayed a week here and found it very pleasant and peaceful in the 'adult only' area. Staff very helpful and friendly. I have never seen better shower/toilet facilities and fantastically clean. The 'Grapes' pub has the best food near the site. Other pubs not up to scratch; expensive and food cold ! Nearby supermarket very good.

What a perfect short break. As mentioned earlier Smiles needed on Reception whilst checking in by some of the staff definitely. Earlier remarks about the site in general being so clean well tended are spot on. The shower block was awesome with free hot water and no push buttons! The park location is great and you can't fault it.We used the park and ride and the co op and chinese takeaway. You can walk easily to these in 10 mins. The adults section is so handy for the shower block as it is only a short walk down a footpath. The security at this site is as mentioned by previous posters is good. It is easy to see why people return to this site time after time. It certainly will be one of many visits for us. Price wise -well you get what you pay for and this site was well worth it. Had to buy a couple of things from the shop and found it reasonable for what we had to buy.

We've just returned from our first visit, it won't be our last! What a fantastic site. Checked in and the reception staff were fab .Security was second to none ,fob controlled gates locked down @11pm, security cameras and staff walking round. Safe as houses. Stayed in the Adults Only Area and it was 'Adults Only'. The Family Area was far enough away to not disturb but near enough to enjoy the laughter of family life at its best! My partner, who is more experienced at camping than myself, thought the place was absolutely the works. We arrived having borrowed my sisters tent only to find we had no poles or pegs! Went to reception to ask for the nearest camping shop and they were so very helpful and even went to their caravans to look for the Argos catalogue! Toilets were spotless, ok so they closed from 11 till 12.30, personally I'd rather that and have clean Loo's than they stay open all day and stink to high heaven! All in all a brilliant camp site and location. £5 single fair in a Taxi to Shrewsbury and loads to see, places to eat and partake in a pint! You must go!

What can I say about this site! absolutely fantastic.
This was our first visit to this site but won't be our last. We parked the car up on the Friday afternoon and had no need to use it again until coming home on the Monday. Everything is just so accessible.
The site itself is accessed via a security system which is worked by a fob which is given to you at reception when you check in, there is a refundable deposit for this. There are both grass pitches and hardstanding pitches. We had a Superpitch and must say we must have been given the smallest one on the park, good job we didn't need a full awning, think it was no 48!
But on looking round all the others seemed fine with loads of room around them. The showers and toilets were really clean and as stated before the water was lovely and hot. One snag is that the clean the toilets between 11 and 12.30 and during this time there is noowhere else to go, not good if a tent was your accommodation. There is a great shop within the reception which, should you forget to bring anything I bet that sells it, although really expensive. It also stocks limited provisions but this is no problem as there is a Co-Op two minutes walk away.
As mentioned there is a Co-Op, a vets and a chinese take away two minutes away there's also a 'Hole in the Wall', can't miss it on your way in. There was also a fish and chip shop which had a notice up saying it was closed awaiting a part but judging by the amount of post on the floor it had been closed a while.
Just up the road about 100 yards there is a pub 'The Grapes' which served an excellent Sunday Carvery, but didn't have Sky Sports, not good towards the end of the season. About a 5 minute walk though up the road is a 'Hungry Horse' pub which had it. Never actually ate in there although the food looked ok.
The 'Park and Ride' which is situated between the site and the Co-Op is excellent it is £1.20 return into Shrewsbury which is great for shopping. It runs upto about half six at night but not on a Sunday.
All in all, a great site, will be returning, all four outfits of us at August Bank Holiday. Can't wait!

Lovely clean site, would use it again. Super showers, loads of hot free water. Went on the adults only section, bliss, no kids! good shop for camping accessories. Short walk to co op, chinese takeaway, which is superb and good value. Couple of pubs down the road which we didnt rate too much, drink was rather expensive but apparantly the food in the grapes pub is good. Site is a superb spot to visit many other places, we went to chester zoo and a trip to llangollen.

Super friendly site, even though it is quite large it has the feeling of being small and friendly, top class services- immaculate toilets and showers, well maintained pitches, very clean site. A Small playarea but kept the children happy! Adult only area, although didnt go and have a look! park and ride to shrewsbury practically on site, great chinese and co-op at end of drive 2 min walk from reception. Quite expensive at £27 a night (2 adults and 2 kids on super pitch), but a bit of luxury for a change! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

As usual our reviews of the campsites that we visit with the not so good bits first:
This site is one of the top sites in country according to various polls.
Ok lets go !
Not so good bits then.
None:
Areas of improvement
Staff could give a little more of a smile ! a welcoming approach is so much appreciated. Dont get us wrong, it is very well done in checking into the site, very professionally done, but in our opinion just a little to clinical:
We did ask for a hardstanding but were put on grass. We did say that we have a heavy 4x4 and heavy twin axle but they said it would be fine but I can assure you it wasnt. Was frustrating as there were a couple of hardstandings completely empty:
Good Bits
The shower facilities in the place have to be experienced to be believed. At last a site that doesnt have push button showers. These showers are so hot you will be turning the temp down, all you need to do here is throw in a tea bag and have a cuppa while you shower ! the pressure is awesome and I can comfortable report to the team that these facilities are worthy of being in the top 100 campsites in the country.
There is washing up facilities which are well looked after and again seriously hot water supply with good pressure.
The shop facilities are extremely well stocked with just about everything you will need, as always prices above anywhere else however not unreasonable. It really is well stocked.
There is an excellent information section on local things to do and well looked after.
Just outside the place at the end of the drive is a very big supermarket and chinese take away which we used and is good for all those forgotten bits !
The hardstanding pitchs we saw were very big so was the grass ones. In the summer the grass would be excellent ones to be on but not in wintery months. The supply points work well and there are a number of waste bins, water supply points etc throughout the site.
For those who like dark then this is not a bad site at night. There is just the right balance of lighting throughout the site but enough to remain darkish.
One excellent feature is the security gate on the entrance. You are issued a security fob to get in and out and does give you the sense of security however it does mean that if your outside of the security barrier lock out time then you have to park up outside and walk into the park collecting your car in the morning. This does stop the late night driving around the site but does leave you feeling somewhat restricted. This is only our opinion.
This is not the most expensive site but again not the cheapest. It does represent value for money.
Overall then
It is no surprise why this park is in the top 100 sites. They have certainly got everything to make for a nice caravanning site. If we went again we would only book for a hardstanding outside of summer period but I would recommend this site.
