As usual our reviews of the campsites that we visit with the not so good bits first:
This site is one of the top sites in country according to various polls.
Ok lets go !
Not so good bits then.
None:
Areas of improvement
Staff could give a little more of a smile ! a welcoming approach is so much appreciated. Dont get us wrong, it is very well done in checking into the site, very professionally done, but in our opinion just a little to clinical:
We did ask for a hardstanding but were put on grass. We did say that we have a heavy 4x4 and heavy twin axle but they said it would be fine but I can assure you it wasnt. Was frustrating as there were a couple of hardstandings completely empty:
Good Bits
The shower facilities in the place have to be experienced to be believed. At last a site that doesnt have push button showers. These showers are so hot you will be turning the temp down, all you need to do here is throw in a tea bag and have a cuppa while you shower ! the pressure is awesome and I can comfortable report to the team that these facilities are worthy of being in the top 100 campsites in the country.
There is washing up facilities which are well looked after and again seriously hot water supply with good pressure.
The shop facilities are extremely well stocked with just about everything you will need, as always prices above anywhere else however not unreasonable. It really is well stocked.
There is an excellent information section on local things to do and well looked after.
Just outside the place at the end of the drive is a very big supermarket and chinese take away which we used and is good for all those forgotten bits !
The hardstanding pitchs we saw were very big so was the grass ones. In the summer the grass would be excellent ones to be on but not in wintery months. The supply points work well and there are a number of waste bins, water supply points etc throughout the site.
For those who like dark then this is not a bad site at night. There is just the right balance of lighting throughout the site but enough to remain darkish.
One excellent feature is the security gate on the entrance. You are issued a security fob to get in and out and does give you the sense of security however it does mean that if your outside of the security barrier lock out time then you have to park up outside and walk into the park collecting your car in the morning. This does stop the late night driving around the site but does leave you feeling somewhat restricted. This is only our opinion.
This is not the most expensive site but again not the cheapest. It does represent value for money.
Overall then
It is no surprise why this park is in the top 100 sites. They have certainly got everything to make for a nice caravanning site. If we went again we would only book for a hardstanding outside of summer period but I would recommend this site.

Overall a very good site.
Ideal position to explore the Midlands and East Wales.
Plenty of Super Pitches - mostly hard standing.
One draw back is that there is no good nearby pub - unfortunately the one down the road is one of these pub chain groups that is not very good - ok for a pint, but the food is very limited and very basic reminded us of McDonald's - rather comparible with an 80's 'labour club' atmosphere - but if that's for you then this is your kinda place.
Good Fish'n'Chip Shop and Chinese takeaway on the small shopping complex by the Park and Ride.
Along with a good size Co-op store.
Be warned though the Ducks are very nosey and if you don't like wildfowl and Rabbits then this site is not for you as they roam freely across the site, around the pond and the pitches.
Facilities very modern clean and tidy.
Staff are usually very friendly - but ensure you make note of the shop opening times!
Good tourist information and shop on site.
Separate Adult Only area - where the Kids are not allowed!
Can use the overnight parking area to leave c'van while you go off for the day, provided it is collected that evening. These have electric hook-up points for your fridge! Usually at a charge of £5.
Ideal to explore Shrewsbury as next door to Shrewsbury Oxon Park and Ride.
Booking advisable!

Just stayed here for 5 days, and have to say it is one we will definitely be returning to,spotless, friendly staff and well cared for, shop takeaway, vets all within 10 min walk, only downside was the kids play area 1 slide,2 junior swings and 2 baby swings not quite big enough if there is quite a few children wanting to go to the park at the same time.Very reasonably priced.

This has been our third short stay at Oxon. We just love going there. Everything is well run and the site is spotless. The showers and toilets have always been lovely and clean. There are two free hairdryers inside and the added touch of several private washing cubicles is an excellent added facility. We have stayed each time on the 'Adult Only' area which is spacious and quiet, with the only visitors being the ducks who seem to know when it's meal times for their daily treat of Rice Krispies! The rabbits all seem to venture out later on in the evening. The Co-Op, Chinese Takeaway and a pub that serves meals are literally a ten minute walk away from the site, with the Park and Ride just outside the site entrance. The only bit of a downfall that I noticed was that some of the super pitches were placed near to the water tap that the other campers must use to get their water from. Surely, unless there is some technical reason for this, it would be fairer to site these super pitches in different areas to allow the 'ordinary' unit to pitch nearer to the water point. Having said this we are looking forward to our next stay at Oxon as there is so much to do and see around the surrounding area.

Would rate this as one of the best sites I have ever visited. Everything is spotlessly clean, the facilities are excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. There is an adult only area and good facilities for children. The wild rabbits, ducks etc. Were an added bonus and a joy to watch. The Park & Ride is near for a trip to Shewsbury. A Co-op is also in walking distance and a pub which does meals. Can't wait to go back, I was so sorry to leave.

This is a great site, stayed for one night only, although was allowed to pay an extra £5 to leave the caravan at the site for the day whilst we went to Cosford airshow. Toilets and showers are clean, the site is well laid out, and as other people have mentioned shops and takeways are a few minutes walk away. I certainly recommend it.

This is the ideal location for Motorhomers (and caravaners) who want to leave their vehicle on site and make the most of public transport as the site is right next door to the park and ride. It also has a supermarket and two takeaways within a few minutes walk. The site is well laid out with adults only areas, grass and hardstanding pitches. Pitches are spacious and we were lucky enough to get a Superpitch which included TV hookup as well as the usual water and waste water points. There is lots to do in the surrounding area and the site has an excellent information kiosk with leaflets for all the main attractions. Well worth a visit.

We went to Oxon just for a weekend, we found it to be well run, the staff friendly, the toilet block was spotless and warm. But by far and away the best thing about this site is the location, it's just by the park and ride into Shrewsbury, we parked the car up on Friday and didn't have to move it again until we went home. there are a couple of pubs within walking distance, and just at the end of the lane is a large Co-op, a chip shop and a Chinese take away. we paid about £20 per night for two and a caravan, no awning etc so its not cheap but you do get what you pay for. First stop over with our new Motorhome and what a great start. Quite obviously a site which is maintained to a very high standard. If you want to visit Shrewsbury this is the place to stop with park and Ride 5 minutes walk. The shower block excellent and warm, Adults only area another bonus. A very well stocked shop. This is an excellently positioned site to visit local attractions.Excellent hard standing pitches well spaced.

We went to Oxon Hall for a long weekend at the end of August 2006. We were very impressed. I have to say one of the best sites we have been to in recent years although a bit pricey. The staff are excellent and the site is beautifully well kept. One could not ask for more and there is agreat pub not 200 yards from the entrance. The only downside was that the access barriers dont work after 11pm for security reasons but all in all Highly recommended
