July 2004 We had a couple of nights here as a a group of 3 families - it is beautifully kept and the shower block though distant was sparklingly clean. The pitches were generous and grass very lush - a pleasure to set up the tent - not a rock in sight! The campsite felt very safe for kids and there was a small play area where they congregated ,played football etc and also an enclosed pond with some friendly ducks. There were probably more caravans and motorhomes than tents.
It was very quiet. One of the women on reception was quite unfriendly which was a shame. Other plus points though - it's right beside the park and ride into Shrewsbury and you get discount tickets from reception, there are two takeaways, a big Co-op and a cashpoint walking distance from reception and also the Grapes pub with a wacky warehouse almost across the road.

june 04 We went To oxon hall last weekend, it was perfectly clean, very clean showers and toilets, it was a very quiet site and not many people pitched up, a lot were caravans, as trailer tent owners we love to see other tents but there were not many, in some respects it was a bit too quiet for us, but it was a lovely site and because it was a big site it meant that everyone staying there was spaced out. We met a lovely couple from Wales and we had a lovely time chatting to them over a bottle of wine. Shrewbury itself was nice, lots of old builings, we went to Carding Mill Valley which was great and to Hawkstone Folly park, this was excellent but you need a lot of energy for this! both places were about half an hour from the site. The slope down to the toilet block was miles away and it was on a big slope and the lady next to us fell and hurt herself badly this is a downside. A nice place to stay with lots of nice countryside but a bit too quiet for us.

21st - 22nd may 2004 very nice and clean site, the park and ride is just 5 mins from the reception area and is the best way to get into Shrewsbury. Also just outside the site there is a Co-op which is open till 10.00 pm most evenings, except sundays which was very handy and just across the road is a pub which serves meals if you dont fancy cooking. The only down side we found to this site is that we like to have a grass pitch as we take our dog (which is us probably just being too fussy) but they only put motorhomes (which we have) on gravel plots with a small patch of grass, we managed and the dog didn't seen to mind .... Overall we would re-visit this site in the very near future.... very nice and peaceful and can't really be faulted.

May 2003 This is an excellent site. The pitches are generous and spacious. We were in a trailer tent, though most when we visited did seem to be caravans. Not that this mattered.
The showers were immaculate. The site is very well kept and lit up at night.
There is a shop, though no bar etc. Easy access into Shrewsbury town. A park & ride facility just down the road.
A great place to visit Shrewsbury. Would visit again. The only down point is the price. I know you pay for what you get. It is a little pricey.

june 2002 A nice friendly, clean site. Only one shower / toilet block though.
Small shop with minimal items at a good price.
Key needed to enter shower / toilet block which can be a pain if there are more than one of you staying together and you all need the toilet at different times !!!
Good idea on the gate where a number must be entered on a keypad to gain entry.
Close to Shrewsbury centre (6 - 7 minutes by car). Park and ride 200 yards from site.
No bar / pub / eating places on site which can be a pain. Also the shop shuts at 5:00pm. Could do with being open longer.
Small childrens play area and dog walk.
They have a small information room with a small selection of books to borrow.
Overall impression:
Clean and friendly. More facilities needed. 3 days there was more than enough with the limited things to do. Need more entertainment if I were asked to stay longer. I also thought the prices were high compared to some other camp sites.
