My sister and I stayed in the ' Adult Only' section of the site for three nights in our tent and it was perfect. A very spacious pitch with electric hook up included. At first, we thought the toilet and shower block were a little far away from our pitch but once we discovered the short-cut, it was fine. The facilities were spotless and the number of toilets, individual washing cubicles and showers meant you never had to wait. The staff were friendly and very helpful with directions etc. As has been previously mentioned in other reviews, not the cheapest of sites but you get what you pay for in terms of location, facilities and the general upkeep. The numerous rabbits were an interesting addition. We will definitely return in the future but for longer next time.

Just spent 3 days here in our tourer. We are members of Caravan and Camping Club and after a little discount paid £26. 50 a night.

The tariff is a bit more than other sites but it is obvious why when you get here as it is so spacious. It is like a big park. It was very easy to find as its just off the main road. The Coop and the Oxon Park and Ride are at the entrance to the site. Because there is a long drive it still takes 5 minutes to walk to the entrance. Some reviews had said how useful the Park and Ride was but I have to point out that the last bus back is about 6 pm so if you want to go into Shrewsbury in the evening you would have to get a taxi back.

I think it would be possible to cycle in but we didn’t have time to do that. The information bureau said that it was because of the cuts that the buses stopped so early! We were very busy during the day so we didn’t venture in at night. Every night we went to the Toby Carvery which was a 10 to 15 minute walk from our caravan. We enjoy cycling on the flat so I picked up some leaflets from the information bureau. There weren’t any at the site. We took the bikes to Bridgnorth in the car, parked in the station and then we cycled the Mercian Way and back, a total of 20 miles, which was very easy and enjoyable. It is a disused railtrack and part of route 45. It was easy to find. Bridgnorth is a nice place and from there the Way took us to Ironbridge which is a pretty place and very interesting. One day we drove to Coalport to the Victorian Open Air Museum which we strongly recommend. You need 3 hours there. Great for kids and adults –lots of school trips there. It is only a couple of miles from Ironbridge where there are many more museums based on the Industrial Revolution heritage. We drove into Shrewsbury and parked at St Julians Car Park and walked a mile along the river by Quarry Park and then back along City Walls. There were lovely gardens there and saw the lodge where Percy Thrower had lived and worked! Another day we walked in the central area of Shrewsbury where all the mediaeval buildings are. We will consider going to another Morris Leisure campsite which is near Bridgnorth. The site was immaculate, excellent showers and also a big shop which sold stuff for caravans etc where I was able to buy toilet solution. Not many caravans were located by the duck pond so we didn’t really see that much but our pitch was a bit elevated which had a nice feel.

This is a lovely site very clean and well maintained staff are very friendly, towing to the site and on the site was so easy. Park and ride buses are just outside the site and for £2. 50 per couple return to Shrewsbury town was ideal, there's lots of walks in the area which was great as we have two dogs. There's a chip shop and Chinese takeaway and a lovely pub just a 5-10 minute walk from the site. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this site some reviews say it is a bit expensive compared to other site but I think you get what you pay for and this is such a beautiful peaceful site we didn't mind paying a little extra it was well worth it.

Stayed at oxon caravan park for a week, the toilet block/showers were immaculate, and cleaned everyday, the pitches were well designed and had plenty of room.

The staff were very helpful, and couldn't do enough for you.

There is a toby Inn just before you enter the site, was closed for refurbishment the week were there, but is to be re-opened on the 9th june, the oxon priory pub (hungry horse)is roughly 1 mile away. The park &ride is just before you enter site, and is very good value, we also could take our dog.

Would certainly recommend this site & would like to try the other sites they own.

Many thanks

Our favourite site, spotlessly clean the friendliest of staff excellent facilities especially for disabled users, well laid out pitches and lovely views all round the park, very dog friendly we could find no dog mess anywhere on site, the whole site is well maintained, we'll run and I would recommend it to anyone especially if you are disabled. There is a large supermarket 5 mi Utes walk away and also a park and ride, access from main road is excellent even for the largest motorhomes.

We had 3 nights at this site. For the time of year, it seemed fairly well used by others, caravans and motorhomes, and fairly spaced out between pitches

The toilet and shower facilities were superb, and lovely and warm - the best we have had, according to my husband. But apart from that, the site had very little in the way of other facilities, albeit, the staff arranged for the newspaper to be delivered at the shop, which had basic provisions. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Although a little over priced, in my opinion, the greatest advantage for us, was the location of the 'park and ride', just a short walk from the site, and only 80p each return (oap bus pass) into Shrewsbury. This service is available 6 days a week.

The pitch we had was a 'super' size one, all gravel, the only type available at the time. I would say that it turned out to be the best option at this time of year. Most of the site, was very wet and spongey, obviously after a wet winter !

Although we don't have children to take, the play area for them is limited, also, no games allowed, so not the ideal site if you have children and need to keep them occupied.

All in all, a good start to our season of vanning.

We have just come back from Oxon Hall Caravan Park having spent, four nights at the location. The park is ideally located if you want to travel into the beautiful town of Shrewsbury and £2-50 return at the park and ride just outside the site for 4 adults and 2 children return is an absolute bargain.

The park is easy to locate and secured with barriers, the toilet and shower facilities are top drawer, always warm and available although the shower curtain does stick to your skin when you are showering but no great hardship.

The site is quiet although there is slight road noise from the nearby A5, the pitches are spacious and easily accommodated my caravan, full awning and car, TV reception was good as was the EHU, the clean water, grey waste and Elsen facilities are all very handy and well laid out in well-lit areas.

There is a small shop on site that is well stocked of caravan / camping equipment should the need arise, a Co-op is situated near to the park and ride along with a chip shop and Chinese Take away, we didn’t use either of the takeaways but the Co-op was very helpful being so close.

I was impressed with the security of the park and the manner in which the grounds were kept, the hedges are neatly trimmed and the whole site looks lovely.

I paid £128-00 for four nights for a standard pitch with EHU, my parents came to stay for an extra night which involved me shelling out another £12-80 and I have to say that although clean there are no other facilities that I might have expected paying such an inflated price, there is a small children’s play area, no bar and no other amenities which would account for such an exaggerated price.

I have stayed in much better equipped sites with equal if not better showering facilities and not paid anywhere near as much.

Overall I would say that Oxon Hall is a nice site, well positioned and well looked after, we enjoyed our stay although I suggest that the pricing scheme is very expensive for what you get, yes it is near to the park and ride but that cannot account for the high price alone.

Would I recommend, probably yes but patrons need to be aware of the excessive price, I hasten to add that the price was in the low season, if I had dared to go in high season the cost would have been much higher.

This is not a site I plan to use again other than simply a one night stay as part of a trip to Shrewsbury. It was far too corporate and lacked the spirit of camping that the best of the family run sites have to offer.

The toilets are very clean, although dated and you frustratingly need your own key, I have no idea who they think is going to walk in and use them? On one occasion my wife was approaching the washroom and another lady just leaving, the lady leapt out and forced the door to lock shut in front of us, just in case we didn't have a key, this behaviour optimised the atmosphere of the site.

The grass is neatly cut and in it looks every bit like a real camp site, however the place lacks warmth, the staff were clearly making an effort, but were wage earning employees, if that makes sense? The shop is very odd, it's the largest site shop you will see, but has no bread, no kitchen paper rolls or anything useful unless your short of a water pistol, tent peg or mantle.

It didn't get any better for me from the induction on arrival, I have never had my rights read to me but I imagine if I ever do, then it will sound like the Oxon Hall team telling me exactly how and in which direction I should park my motorhome, lean my canopy or park a car and god forbid your not right next to the peg! During the monologue they will produce for you a laminated drawing outlining how you 'will' arrange yourself on the pitch, just in case your unclear, missing completely the fact that your a customer paying £27 a night to be there.

I'm sure many people will love the site, after all we all need different things, but for me it has gone beyond organised and reached regimented.

A fantastic site. The site is very clean and very well maintained. The toilet/shower facilities are very clean and are cleaned every day. There is co-op at the end of the road along with a chippy and Chinese. The pitch we had was very nice, we weren't cramped in and had a large space in front of us for the kids to play in. The staff were friendly, but the shop only really stocked caravan/camping equipment and very little food (maybe due to the co-op and the end of the road). The playground, in my opinion, is a bit of a let down, it only had 4 swings and one slide. However, the site is brilliant and the best one we have been to and we will be going again, looking to go in September. All other sites will now be compared to this one, who have set the standards high.

Just enjoyed week-end visit to this site. The site is very well looked after, very clean and maintained, good size pitch. There are shops at the entrance to site chippy, Chinese takeaway co-op and a vets two pubs 5 mins away. The Grapes, and the Oxen Priory a further 10 mins along the same road which sells a lot cheaper ale. We camped in a adult only area.

Shrewsbury well worth a visit.
