What a excellent site, very spacious, and lots of great walking nearby, the toilet blocks appear brand new, unfortunately only one was open, but that seems to be the norm on these larger sites, in the lower seasons. It's a site we would definitely go to again, highly recommended.
One bug bear would be the shop which is located nearby (not owned by the site) this is very expensive, they tried to charge my husband £2.75 for a cheap can of lager, which would cost about 90p in a pack of 4, also they were selling 1 glass bottles of wine, for £2.75, so I would definitely stock up your provisions before heading to this site.

We stayed here for a long weekend in August. We have stayed here many times before because of the location and the facilities are modern and clean but and the big but is for the exorbitant prices being charged, why don't they provide midge machines to clear the area of midges?
Overall the campsite is good, but the areas around the perimeter which are 'tents only' are really not fit for a camping as they are boggy and seem to hold the water despite some drainage appearing to have been done.

Stayed here last minute on our tour of Scotland. The location of the site is fantastic and with the added bonus of the loch/beech on the edge of the site plenty of activities on hand. There are forest walks straight from the site to which was ideal for us with dog.
The facilities are immaculate and look brand new, loads of space, heated and hot water. I would think they more than cope with a full site.
The only down side to this campsite asides the midges is the price. I dare say its cheaper for longer stays but for one night the price was way over the top.

Second visit in consecutive years to this site. The site is in an excellent location for a full range of activities and the site facilities are of a very high standard and kept clean and tidy at all times.
The beach at Loch Morlich is lovely, flat and child friendly with boats available for hire. Aviemore about 10 mins away with lots to do and a good range of food outlets and restaurants.
Small shop just off site for basics and a small supermarket in Aviemore. Choice of pitches on arrival. Pitches are large with plenty of room between neighbours.
Only problem, and it is not the fault of the site, is the mad midgies. Particularly bad this year. Be prepared.
All in all we will be back as we thoroughly enjoy this site and its location.

Stayed here for two nights over a weekend with my husband and 3 yr old grandson and loved it. Beautiful location, quiet, friendly and the toilet block/showers were spotless. We chose our pitch which was under a tree and not too close to neighbours and very close to all facilities. Just ideal. We are new to this camping game and this was our second trip but so very much better than our first. Been other places since and still think its up there at the top.
The loch close by was a bonus. Just lovely.
Midges were a bit bad at times, but hey, this is Scotland, and coming from the West Coast, they were really not that bad!
Would definitely return again, maybe in the winter months for a bit of skiing etc. Recommended it to our friends and they loved it too.
The only negative is that I felt the prices were pretty high compared to other places.

We stayed in the campsite for two nights over a weekend at the end of June.
The campsite is set in a beautiful location, 15-20mins drive from Aviemore. Set in stunning a Scots Pine forest typical of the area and is only a few minutes from Loch Morlich. In the surrounding forst there are literaly hundreds of walks of varying lengths and gradients. Nearby there is of course the Cairngroms should you feel like a more strenuous day out.
The campsite itself is lovely. Sloping gently in most areas, we did not experience any drainage issues, however there was in places evidence that this may have been a problem. The pitches are not marked, however there is a strict 6m rule between tents, which is enforced (one group had to move their tents once pitched). The ground itself is reasonably stoney under the grass, but not so severe that it stops the pegs going in.
The toilets and shower blocks are immaculate. Plenty of hot water and alway clean. Dishes area again spotless. We did not need to use the other facilities such a laundry. There is no shop on site, but a Mace store nearby, however this has a very limited range of supplies, but nearly all the essentials.
There is a great playground near the site, but not in the grounds of the site. When we were there it was not too busy, so there was always lots of space for the children to play. There is also lots of scope for water sports and generally playing in the forest.
The general area has lots of scope for things to do as well. All in all a great campsite is a superb area

Disgusting extension of a late night bar. Car doors slamming all night, no staff visible at all, no after dark lighting apart from toilet blocks.
There were more dogs than the rspca. Value for money zero. Would never return again.
The facilities were pretty good, plenty of showers and toilets. After speaking with manager regarding our concerns, we got the impression she couldn't care less.
There is a 6 metre rule in place which went out the window as the site got busier.

We will most definitely be visiting this site again. We found the staff very helpful and friendly and could be regularly seen around the site. There are pitches in and out of the forest, they did vary in size. The Showers/toilets were clean and tidy and the site was child friendly.
Some of the pitches in the forest where quite a way from the nearest showers/toilets but if you have facilities on board this should not be a problem or if you don't mind a walk.
There was a shop, cafe and ski hire near by. Also a regular bus service into Avimore and to the base site of the Cairncorms. There are many walks off and around the site and in the general area. There are boats for hire on the loch behind the site and a visitor centre just opposite also a Raindeer centre about 400 mts down the road.
There is plenty to see and do particularly if you like a good walk and good views.

Better than Center Parcs?
We stayed for a week. It is so kid friendly, and allows them to soak up the outdoors by the Loch, long walks, cycling, and just generally running around. The site is in a great spot, and when you are not simply outside Inverness and Aviemore with their attractions are close by.
The WCs and showers are excellent.
The adjacent shop and cafe are extremely well stocked, and you can hire biked there too.
Some of the pitches are perhaps a little small these days and a few are a bit marshy, but have a look around as there are plenty to choose from.
So is it better than Center Parcs? Probably!

I have been camping here since the 70s, both in tents and, for the last 10 years, in a caravan. Although we have always thoroughly enjoyed our many stays here, we have on many occasions come across people who have been washed out by the swamp-like conditions which now seem to bedevil the site.
I understand this is to do with a major re-wiring years ago; it never used to be like this. There are parts of the site which, now, should just not be in use - hey, it rains in Scotland! And it is true that the Forest Holiday staff, once they have your money, leave you alone, totally. It was remarkable, on a previous visit, that a relieving staff member from the New Forest came round and actually spoke to us several times.
The loos, though clean and fresh, do not have privacy cubicles and, if you visit the site even just at the end of a season, even when the site is still busy, there always seems to be one block closed. Frustrating.
But what an area! Loads to do, for the active or the sedentary. And although the site when busy can seem in parts like a council estate there are many quiet spots where you can hide away from the madding crowd.
Bothy Bikes, on the way into Aviemore, is the place to go for hire or repair; really helpful staff.
Food-wise, the youth hostel is now doing meals at reasonable prices, and I can totally recommend La Taverna in Aviemore.
All-in-all, a great place to stay (but choose your pitch carefully).
