This remains one of our favourite UK campsites.
It has moved from a Camping in the Forest site to a private site, but with the same very helpful and friendly manger.
Our weather at the time was very wet with puddles forming after rainfall.
The facilities blocks are good and clean and the beach at the adjacent Loch Morlich is a very convenient short walk through the trees.
There are a number of other walks as well as easy driving/ cycling access to Aviemore.

We love the location of Glenmore Campsite as the walks are amazing straight from the site.
Also the beautiful Loch Morlich is like a scene I have experienced in Australia.
The site/amenities are kept clean and tidy and the staff are amazingly friendly and very helpful.
Maybe a children's play area and a dog shower would be things to consider for the future.
The Pine Marten pub is friendly and accessible from the site and provides a place to eat, drink and be entertained.
Hence the reason we return many times throughout the year, every year.

Campsite was great, and is set in a great location.
The Staff were friendly & the washing up room and toilet blocks were clean and there were plenty of bins around the site.
We only stayed 1 night and wouldn't stay again as I feel £36 for a parking space and a shower is massively overpriced (we didn't even have an EHU).
Each to their own.

The toilet block is amazing and the staff were friendly,
Unfortunately I found it difficult to find a flat area to put my tent, and the ground was so full of stones I struggled with the tent pegs.
I am sure with a bigger tent and an airbed it might be easier. It appears that anyone wanting an electric hook up gets a better site.

We’d originally intended to go for one of pitches in the trees nearer to the beach on Loch Morlich but we were sick of the midges so opted for a grass pitch out in the open. The pitches in the trees are more spaced out & have a more continental feel to them.
However, we had a nice end pitch about 50 yds down from the reception and could see the mountains above the trees across the site.
Of the two toilet/shower blocks we preferred the bottom one that you need the code for as it seemed cleaner to us. There are plenty of showers & loos and I never had to wait. The site was about 75% full at a guess.
We walked to the Green Loch on the route that goes up to the left of the reindeer centre and back by the easier, wider path. The path up was much more picturesque & peaceful. The Loch itself is beautiful and a great spot for a picnic. The walk up & back is about 2. 5 hours.
There are plenty of other walks from the site which suit all abilities. We had coffee & cake from the cafe opposite which was very nice.
All in all a nice site and a lovely area but we were there mid week in term time. I’m not sure we’d like it as much in the school holidays.

Great site. One of the very best. Good sized well spaced pitches within a few minutes walk through the trees to Loch Morlich, with its sandy beach.
Aivemore is the nearest town which is a short drive away. Lots of varied walks direct from site into the hills and an adjacent loch. Magnificent scenery all around.
The site, we a are told, is set to close - or at least change ownership, later this year (Subsequently we have seen the lease advertised, so it may come back again)

Great friendly and clean site, including underfloor heating in the toilet block which is great for the winter months.
Really enjoyed my time here.
Lots of great activities in the area.
