This is a great site that we will definitely be back to again.
It has simply stunning views and the beach and loch are outstanding. You can walk all the way round the loch which we did with our dogs and it's a lovely walk that doesn't take too long.
The facilities are outstanding, though I do think I got the shower with the shortest amount of water before having to press the button again (11 seconds!?), my girlfriend said she got 30 though.
The shop was adequate for essentials but there's a Tesco in Aviemore not far away.
Loved just sitting outside our tent having a beer looking at the mountains, bliss! It would have been good to have gone down to the beach for a BBQ one night too but we never got round to it.
Will definitely be coming here again.

Despite some complaints (see comments below) our family of 4 + dog really enjoyed this site (twice during this summer) and because it is so brilliantly positioned would definitely use it again.
Great Location - next to Loch Morlich with sandy beach, watersports, swimming and plenty of walks and cycling. Same goes for area - couldn't run out of stunning places to see and stuff to do. Aviemore useful for shops, restaurants and indoor swimming.
Site itself ok - no marked pitches and poor drainage made it a real challenge to find a decent spot, especially as site was very busy. New toilet and shower blocks with plenty of each (but why do they go off after approx 30 seconds - who showers that quick?!). Handy shop for essentials and cafe for breakfast and snacks (you can spot squirrels and birds from the balcony).

Visited this site, end of July beginning of August. It is a wonderful site with fantastic views. We stayed in the forest part which had a completely different feel from the rest of the park. The forest area was very quiet and peaceful with the units well spaced from each other. The rest of the site seemed busier. The toilets and showers were immaculate at all different times of the day, even first thing in the morning. Showers were hot and were always available with no need for queueing.
The surrounding area is great for hillwalking and outdoor recreation.
Loch Morlich was just a walk through the trees and the children were happy playing on the beach or trying to fish. There was a good adventure playground which was in good condition, although a bit far from where we camped.

This site is nicely laid out in sections. The non-electric section had an amazing view as you are at the foot of the Cairngorms. All pitches are in a great location. The toilet and shower blocks were clean and spacious. You are camping in a forest with amazing walks through trees to beautiful Loch Morlich with sandy beach. Most of these walks are wheelchair and buggy friendly. The lochside cafe was also super, selling home-baking. There is a ski-hire centre, shop and cafe behind the site. Friendly staff. The only negative about the site was the ground. It was full of holes, needed attentions r.E drainage. It would be a fantastic improvement to the site if this was fixed. Our awning did get quite flooded easily. We have two young children and did a lot of activities but Reindeer House across the road from the campsite cost us the least money and the children found it fascinating. Santa and his elves have rooms there you see.Nice touches as well as the reindeer.

The location of the site was fantastic. Loch Morlich, a sandy beach, was a stone's throw away from the campsite, which was a hit with our labrador! And you get a panoramic view of the Cairngorm range from the beach.
The site itself was very busy when we arrived (on a Monday afternoon at the end of July) and we were simply told to find a pitch rather than being shown to one. A word of warning: don't pithc near a bridge (there are a couple that go over a little stream running through the site) if you want peace and quiet - a lot of kids congregate by the bridges to play.
The facilities were good and even though the site was busy we never had to wait for the showers or wash basins. The showers were a decent size too.
The roads to the campsite were good and it was a pleasant drive.
There are lots of walks to cater for everyone and dedicated off road cycle paths nearby. The Cairngorm funicular railway is also a short drive away (the Glenmore Visitors Information Centre opposite the campsite had vouchers that gave you a 5% discount on tickets - they were available at the payment counter).
There are shops/cafe a few minutes walk away from the campsite which is handy for milk, bread or the occasional cooked breakfast!
We would have loved to have extended our stay but the site was fully booked - advance booking is highly recommended, especially in July. We will definitely be returning.

Been visiting this site for many years each February (although had to move it to April this year). Needless to say, we love it. Even in the depths of winter, there's so much to do. The site itself is set out nicely with a natural feel and on the edge of loch morlich. There's always plenty of choice of pitch when we visit. The new loo blocks can't be beaten, they're fantastic with underfloor heating, great showers and are large enough to keep everyone happy. The staff changed a couple of years ago. The previous staff were friendly and helpful and always ensured you were happy. They were also more down to earth than many modern site wardens. We were worried that something would be lost when the new wardens came in. However, we have no complaints with the new wardens. They are friendly and helpful although we haven't built up the same rapport as of yet.
Things to do in the area - wow, where to start. Fantastic stunning walks and bike rides. The nearby activity centre stays open all year with quad-biking, shooting, rafting, 4x4ing, pony trekking and loads more. Skiing is within easy reach. The Cairngorn ski centre is 5 mins drive and there is a ski school/hire shop with dry-slope on the edge of the site. There's so much more to this site and general area to mention. I would recommend it to anyone, any time of year. Our February hols kept us in caravanning thanks to this site.

This is probably one of the most expensive sites I've ever stayed at. The location is fantastic and the toilet/shower blocks great. However, the site itself is not well-maintained. The drainage is dreadful (apparently as they didn't get permission to build some cabins, they didn't do the groundworks to improve the drainage) and, considering the amount of rain that can fall, this would seem to be a false economy. The pitches themselves are not clearly marked and many in the tent section are covered in reeds, therefore on very wet ground. I've stayed at sites costing 50% less that have looked far better.
However, saying all that, we had a great weekend despite the weather. You always need to have midgie repellent (we use Avon's Skin So Soft, technically not an insect repellent but it works!). Mobile phone and radio reception is poor but the site is in the middle of the mountains. However, you can get mobile reception down on the lovely beach.

We stopped at this site, paid our fee, which was much higher than others we had experienced, were told to go find somewhere we fancied, drove round twice and picked a spot that wasn't that nice but 'would do'. My husband took the dog for a walk, I was looking around and felt it wasn't the sort of place we wanted to be in, he came back and said he was sorry but didn't want to stay there. We went back to the reception area, got a refund and left. It seemed to be a free for all with pitches and was messy. Not for us, but if you are into water sports, then I guess it is in a good location. Sorry! On a plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice site but be sure to book a premium site as you will not get an electric hook up as we had to argue to get one, with 3 young children it was not feasible not to have electric. There were tents taking up electric hook up pitches and not using the hook ups. Its a free for all as you are not given a pitch, you just have to take whatever pitch is free. You do not get a mobile phone or tv signal on the site either. Toilets were good and clean but showers were push button to start and kept going off! It was raining when we were there and the water was just sitting on the grass and running into our awning as there appears to be no drainage on site. The site shop was very expensive and the cafe was also expensive giving the food you were given! It has a lovely beach which is just a short walk through the trees with very good views. Be sure to take a decent midge repellent as we were bitten alive! Nice site but we wont be back as the site fees were way over priced and have stayed in better sites for a lot less money.

I stayed at the Glenmore campsite last weekend and had an amazing time. The location couldn't be better, with a large loch and lochside sandy beach right on the edge of the campsite. This beach has a great water sports rental shop with friendly and helpful staff, it is spacious and above all it is very clean. We were fortunate with the weather but you really could spend a whole day here swimming, canoeing and playing beach games. The close proximity to this amazing loch is the highlight of the campsite.
The campsite itself is well equiped and the toilet blocks are modern and always clean. We did feel it was quite expensive for a tent with three of us in it, extra charges for weekends, high season and not being a member of the caravan/camping club bumped up the reasonable price to a little bit over budget. The weekend I visited was the first weekend of the school holidays and was VERY busy. The tents were closely packed together and therefore there was not much privacy- we were very aware that our whispering at 11pm could probably be heard by the nearby tent only a few metres away. For the price charged it would have been nice to have a few less tents in one area.
It would definitely be advisable to bring midge repellent as there were quite a few in the evenings, although not nearly as bad as quite a few places I have been before.
We walked into Aviemore centre and although it is a very nice path off the main road it does take a couple of hours (5 miles) and we got a lift back after shopping! Easily accessible with a car. In the evening the Glenmore lodge has a nice bar which is less than a mile away and an easy walk.
Overall I would definitely recommend this campsite and I would come back for longer than a weekend next time (although perhaps not with high season prices). The location by the loch with excellent facilities is what makes it stand out.
