Have been going to this campsite for over 20 years and if it was not for the setting I would not be back.
Back today Easter Friday and the staff have still not opened the second toilet block even thought the campsite was near to full and anyone in the tent section would have a long walk to use the facilities.
Forest holidays get an outside cleaner in to clean the one set of toilets and so the staff do not have much to do, (the office is only open a few hours a day). Shut from 11-1pm.
Worst still there was work going on in the centre of the camp for a new sewage system and so the quietness of the JCBS and all the workers leave a lot to be desired as when you pay premium prices over £25.00 a night for Easter they could at least say there was work on going.
Disappointing however believe that the running may be being handed over the CCC hope so soon.
The site pitches are still extremely poor and if it was not for the best views in Scotland I would not be back.

This site is set in a beautiful location, and the views are spectacular! The toilets, showers and other facilities in the service block are clean and there are plenty of each, and no sign of running out of hot water.
However, we were staying in the school holidays, at one of the busiest times outside of the summer and for the first 36 hours of our visit, the service block nearest the tent area was closed, and it was a long walk to the other one.
We thought this was unfortunate, given the extremely high price charged to pitch a tent on a pitch which didn't appear to be very well looked after.
However, the setting makes up for a lot of these shortcomings, and the pitches are reasonably level, and access is easy.

Our family have just returned from Glenmore after a short break and, having been a long term fan of the site, its time to move on to fresh (and possibly firmer) ground. We have visited the site at least twice per year for the past few years and, though the showers and wash facilities are always clean with plenty of hot water, the rest of the site is struggling to keep up.
As ever, the location is fantastic - close to Loch Morlich and the Cairngorms. A short drive to Aviemore for major facilities - shops & bars etc.
We were there during peak October holiday season and the site was busy with caravans yet only one of the two shower blocks was open. No queues in the gents but my wife had to wait in line each morning for a shower. To have only 50% of the facilities open during peak school holidays seemed strange, in particular when attendance at the site was boosted by the nearby Aviemore half marathon and 10K races.
The pitches have not been given any attention recently, the ground is very soft all over the site with sections coned or barriered off - except for the forested areas where most electric hook ups are taken by season bookings. We did manage to get one in the woods though - maybe local knowledge helps!
There is no real control over the location of pitches -'drive around till you see a space near an electric point' is the instruction given. With the poor ground conditions, lack of hard standing - often the firmest ground being on the slope, we wont be back until some investment in the ground & pitch control is carried out.
There seem to be ongoing pitch drainage issues and a lack of willingness to invest in the site, or spend money opening the second showers during the school holiday period. It is not a cheap site and we keep returning looking for improvements but the've not arrived. Forest Enterprise please take note!
One hint - if you are staying here take the 10 minute walk to the Glenmore Lodge outdoor centre for a bar supper and pint of local ale - always on draft, good value (if limited) menu in a warm and child friendly environment.

Firstly the website to book the site is very poor, we booked (we thought) for electric, and were disappointed to find we had not got a hook up and were charged the most outrageous fees we have ever come across.
We were placed at the bottom of a road and due to the heavy rain it was always flooded (great fun watching kids cycling through the puddles).
Toilets were excellent, clean and tidy, however as has been described they are shut for a very long time.
Lovely walk around the loch, but we will not be visiting this site again.

We spent the first week of August at this site after having previously camped at Hollands Wood.
Starting with the Pro's
*The shower and toilet bloke are very clean and there is plenty of hot water ALL DAY which lacks in other sites.
*Aviemore is very beautiful with plenty to do for all ages.
Now the Cons
* You cant have washing lines
* Its a big site but they cramb tents in so there is not really enough area for kids to play around the tents if like us you have smaller children that cannot go to the play park by themselves.
* The wardens constantly walk around the site making sure everyone is adhering to the rules, there is no bending of the rules.
*The launderette is inadequate for a site of this size and shuts at 8.30pm
* If you are prone to midgy bites, this is not the site for you.
*If you go here do not put your tent at the bottom, camp near the road as we witnessed many people being flooded and ducks swimming in stagnant water next to the tents.
*Shower and toilet blocks whilst very clean are shut for 2 hours each day, which means walking across the site to another block.
Nice site but we were walking on egg shells to adhere to all the rules. Personally I prefer a more relaxed site.

This site is too expensive at £26.50 per night for a 3 people (one adult, 2 kids). We stayed for one night. It is in a great location and we found a good pitch but most of the area with pitches remaining was clearly wet and boggy. Contrary to other reviews, the toilets, although new, were not as well maintained as they need to be at peak season and smelled of urine with dirty sinks and were unpleasant. This is the most important aspect for us and we were disappointed considering the charge. The door to the Mens toilet was too stiff to open by my 9 and 7 year olds, possibly due to the door swelling with the wet but how about some maintenance? The lower part of the site needs drainage.
On the positive side there is lots to do in this beautiful part of Scotland. Great location but not the greatest campsite

We have just spent 4 nights here. On arrival we were told to pitch where we liked. As we had paid for an EHU pitch it took a few drives round to actually find one but in the end we managed to get one. Due to a lot of wet weather before we arrived (and also during our stay) the pitches were not in the best condition.
There were two new toilet blocks kept very clean and we never had to queue to use either toilets or showers. The children's play park was out of action a few days as they were waiting on a tree surgeon to trim branches.
The beautiful Loch Morlich is a short walk away and we were amazed to see snow still on the surrounding Cairngorm mountains in July! There is plenty to do in and around the area but the highlight of our stay was a trip to Landmark - a forest adventure park. Also worth a visit is the Highland Folk Museum. We spent hours at this fascinating place and the best bit was it was free!
The town of Aviemore was about 6 miles from the site. We intended to hire bikes during our stay but due to the weather were unable to. We would revisit Glenmore but found the prices a bit on the high side.

Stayed here for three nights over the holiday weekend and enjoyed our stay, despite pretty awful weather.Excellent location for those with children and dogs. Our girls aged ten and eleven loved it here - great for cycling and the loch, although temperature icy at this time of year!
Toilets immaculate and provided much welcomed heat for those of us in tents. Staff were helpful and vigilant about things like lighting fires etc. It's not cheap but we felt it was worth the price for the location, although we felt it could feel very busy in high season.
Will definitely go back for another weekend later in the year.

Great site and plenty to do in area, we have a 13 and 7 yr old, good cycle routes, Landmark is a great day out, our boys loved Tree Zone, loads of walks.
Rangers on the site have activities at the w/e, we did Bat walk and crafts, which were both excellent, saw loads of bats and the ranger made it very interesting for all ages.
Toilets etc nice and clean and well maintained.
Pitches a good size although as mentioned some could be better maintained.
Found staff helpful and friendly.
Cafe over walking shop just past Tescos is a must, best cakes ever!

Stayed at this campsite while hiking the Cairngorms. Site was ok there was a shop near by.
Showers, Toilets, Sinks, Drinking water, Washing and drying machines. No internet accesses or WIFI at the time.
The location is great. Good views near a nice loch with a beach with glacier sand. Pretty nice. There shelter from the wind. There is a bus stop nearby
