What a great site. Just returned from a short break and the facilities are superb, counted 5 different toilet blocks and they were all spotless, showers excellent, dishwashing facilities on every toilet block under cover. The site is very quiet, we saw a small children's play area by the tent field but with Scarborough on your doorstep you wont be short of things to do

The site is about 15 minutes walk to the sealife centre at scalby end of Scarborough. You can then walk from here right into Scarborough (or catch the seafront bus along marine drive).

At the side of the site is Scalby Manor pub which does a cavery for under £4! We went friday night, it was very busy and you queue for the carvery but its well worth it.

This was our first ever camping holiday, me the wife and our two children (girls age 5 and 7). We pre-booked by telephone about five weeks before our trip. Having never been to a campsite before we weren't sure what to expect upon arrival.

We were very impressed with the staff and warm welcome. We were shown to the general area we had to pitch and offered a selection of three sites. Steve (the guy who showed us to our pitch)explained where everything was located.

The toilet/showers were clean and there were numerous blocks around the site so they were never too busy. The kids play areas didn't have much there so that could be an area to improve though. The shop was expensive (£2.80 for a small jar of coffee), and the chip shop was disappointing. That said local shops (Tesco Express), & a cracking pub are not that far from the site.

On the whole this was a great site we would recommend to anyone great staff and a good atmosphere. One noisy camper (watching eastenders at full volume) was quickly dealt with by the wardens before anyone had a chance to complain. Recommended site!

We have visited this site a number of times over the past 5 years, more recently we have stored our caravan on this site in the storage facility (Mar - Aug-10) The site overall is ideally suited for Scarborough, good facilities on site and easy to access.

- As previously mentioned, toilet blocks close when site not deemed busy enough (however prices do not reflect this).

- Some site wardens can be difficult, others friendly

-site gets very boggy with a bit of bad weather - staff become rude under the stress (March 10)

- when site very busy (often in high season - power issues when using electric (March 10 lots of power outages including 1 whole day off - no reduction in fees for electric use)

-Very expensive - not good value for money, if toilet blocks kept open and clean all season and no power issues ~I wouldn't mind paying higher prices as very good location

Our second visit to this site in 2010. It definitely showed the pressure of numbers on toilet, washroom & even dish cleaning facilities. Although the Site didn't seem to be quite 100% full, we were placed in an area enclosed by the two roads to Whitby & Burniston. The nearest block to us had limited toilet & washing facilities for the number of users and, on each time of use, there seemed to be a queue for something. We weren't too keen either that the chemical toilet emptying point should be next to the dishwashing area.

Even at a high level of use though, the rest of the site never felt crowded. It must have been hard work for the staff to keep the waste bins from overflowing, exacerbated by some of the dog owners who would insist on adding their poop bags to these bins rather than use the many dog waste points around the site.

A lovely site, staff friendly and helpful.

We were taken to be shown our pitch and had quite a nice choice and space. The site was busy lots of units Caravans, Camper, vans tents,

However not once did we feel crowded, in fact quite the opposite.

Small handy shop and the chip shop is well worth a visit TRY THE HOME MADE STEAK PIE ! boy it is delicious. Also in the morning bacon/sausage or egg rolls are great and good value. The pub next door well you cannot beat the prices and the carvery is excellent But pub is busy every evening.

Showers and toilet block on site are excellent and so clean. We did not have to queue once.

Site is well placed for visiting NYM heartbeat country, whitby and of course Scarborough. Personally I recommend Whitby it is more interesting.

Public transport not to bad with local buses stopping outside the site.

Our only real downer were the dam Pigeons and crows who seem to enjoy sitting in trees early morning and waking every one up at 5am with there dam noise. However most campsites with tress have had problems this year. Maybe a man with gun to shoot the dam things would help LOL

Overall great site friendly staff look forward to visiting again.

We just returned from 5 nights at this fantastic site. We'd only booked 4 but stayed the extra. On arrival on the the sat we were met by the staff and after checking in we were shown to our pitch with E/H which it turns out they are all grass hardstanding. It was massive, the biggest we've ever had. The guy showed us where everything was there are ample toilet blocks though we only used the nearest never queued.

We had a great view but I didn't reckon much to the views the caravan and motor homes had as they were side by side, they sat at the front or rear of their pitches for the view.

The manor pub is a must the carvery they have at £3.70 is excellent value and a pint of lager is £2.40 so it does get busy even the locals eat there.

Scarborough is about 2.5 miles down the road we didn't walk but drove and found it expensive to park. You can get a bus outside the site. Whitby is about 20 miles north and the Cleveland way is just across from the site which is a fantastic walk.

Aldi and tesco close by for food. The marine centre was expensive and we were only there for an hour. There's plenty of theatres in Scarborough. The kids that were on site seemed to enjoy themselves in the play areas.

This site is probably the best ccc site we have been on. We did so much I can't remember half of it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We'll be back to this one.

The camp site was very nice. The staff were nice and friendly. The shower and toilets was nice and clean. There is a fish and chip shop on site very nice. Not a bad price.

Scarborough is about three mile a way. The only down side is the pitches are on a slope. We kept sliding down the air bed in the morning. So we had to turn the air bed round and found this better.

The camp site was nice and peaceful and we will be going again soon.

Stayed here back in 2010 and it was a great site but the only problem is that it was very busy but we've said that we will go back. The small chip shop on site was great when we were there. The town of Scarborough is nice but you need more than a day to explore it fully. The nearby town of Whitby is well worth a visit and so is the village of Goathland, which was were Heartbeat was filmed.

Just returned from a windy weekend at this site. We really enjoyed our time on the site though, unlike the previous reviewer we found the staff to be exceptionally helpful; we were late arriving in Friday evening due to hold-ups on the motorway but the Site Manager greeted us despite being in the middle of his tea, he showed us to our pitch and gave verbal details of the facilities both on site and in the local area.

The site has excellent bathroom facilities that were exceptionally clean and orderly, as was the rest of the site. The only downside was that we were pitched on a slight slope. The shop is very small but has everything you may need and was very good value for money. Approximately 1 mile down the road is a Tesco express and in Scarborough town centre has both a large Tesco and Sainsburys store, both are close to the railway station. There is also a carvery pub within walking distance of the site which offers good food and a very good price.

We had high winds and rain but this did not spoil our enjoyment of our visit to Scarborough Club Site, and we will return again in the future without hesitation.

Our visit was brief, and the intention was to surf but due to the high wind we were unable to, however we had a pleasurable visit to Robin Hoods Bay and also North Beach Scarborough both of which permitted the dog on the beach.

Just returned from a disappointing short break in Scarborough. Unlike many of the previous reviews we found staff unhelpful and in some cases quite rude and abrupt.

We suffered children playing out at 6am every morning and while this is not the direct fault of staff they were unsupportive and did not help in our plea of at least one lie in!

We found the toilets not to the usual standard for the C&CC with toilet seats broken, rust trails on the walls and a strong drain smell. While showers are hot they were not as clean as usual and felt old fashioned and tired.

While the site was busy when we arrived by the time we left it had quietened down considerably with well over half of the pitches vacated. When we asked if we could stay on a couple of extra hours we were refused saying we 'had no chance'. However if we paid for an extra day we could stay! Never had this before on any C&CC site.

However, site is in a good position for Scarborough and Whitby. Both towns are worth a visit. The children's play area looked good and the dog walk was better than some we have been too, (however, next to busy road so take care if dog not good at coming back to you!). The walk from site to the cliff top is pleasant and in some parts you can get down to a lovely quiet, rock pool beach (take care as quite steep in parts but passible).

Disappointed, feel ripped off and need some serious lie-ins to recover. Shall not be going back.
