This site has a good location, just North of Scarborough and is easy to get to.
Facilities good and clean, although there was only one toilet disposal point and we had quite a walk to get to it.
We went at the first May Bank Holiday weekend and the site was full. The shop had quite a poor selection of stock, and was very expensive, but there's a Tesco Express a mile away, which was very handy.
Because of the size of the site, there's a lot of traffic going in and out. We were pitched next to the main access route, and thought people were driving far too fast. We didn't feel it was safe to leave our 3 and 5 year olds playing outside without watching their every move.
There are two children's play areas - one you can pitch close to, the other you can't, as it is in a separate little field. They were very busy, and in my opinion, needed to be bigger to cater for the size of the site.
We won't be returning here - too big and busy for us.

Stayed at this site after the site I had booked was not up to standard. The toilets and showers are excellent on this site with more than enough for the amount of people pitched. The wardens are a bit strict as we had 2 teenagers with us and they did tend to follow them around to ensure they were not breaking any rules. They were very strict with the 6m rule when we arrived but as the weekend went on it seemed to go out the window as we came back to find a couple of tents pitched quite close to us. Overall this is a nice site but a bit to restricting for our teenagers.

One of our favourite sites - large but friendly. Great shop, great chippy - handy for the South Bay - can't go wrong. The family pub is very busy and a little grubby but worth a visit.
We love Scarborough C&CC site and have gone back many a time. A good site for newcomers to touring and plenty of room. The wardens are clearly experienced and brilliant. The on site shop provides everything you can think of. The showers are basic but clean, but unlike many sites, there are lots of them for the 300 pitches! I like sites where caravans and tents mix as it makes for a diverse set of people. We have been there with our trailer tent and our caravan later on. We have a soft spot for this site.

Large tent, 2 adults, 4 night stay Our third visit to this site was just as good as the previous two. On arrival, late on a Monday evening, we received a very friendly welcome and were shown a range of free pitches. As always the toilet and shower areas were spotless (I'm really fussy) with lots of free hot water. I never had to queue for a shower or toilet. The site itself is lovely with a great choice of areas to pitch, lots of grass and shrubs, and very, very clean and tidy. It feels really secure with barrier entry and 24hr wardens. Last year we chose a spot at the top of the backpackers field next to the dog walk, which had lovely views of the sun setting, although not great in the wind! This year we had electric for the first time so chose a pitch on the opposite side of the park. The on-site shop stocks all essential items (although limited opening) and the Brewer's Fayre pub and restaurant next door is really handy when cooking is too much! The best thing about this site is the proximity to Scarborough - if you like a good walk. The cliff walk down to Scalby Mannor Inn is stunning and brings you out in North Bay at the Sea Life Centre. The Ivanhoe is ok for a quick lunch and is only a 10 minute walk down the main road into town. The reception staff are really friendly and helpful and there is a large play area for kids with an additional smaller one near the dog walk. Although this site is quite expensive if you're not a member, its worth every penny (approx £25 per night for tent with electric). This is the best site in Scarborough and I will definitely return. First class.

This site is excellent and cannot be faulted for the toilets and showers. The wardens were very friendly when taking our money and showing us to our pitch, however they then endeavoured to "follow" our 2 teenage boys around the site shouting at them for every little thing they did. One of them even jumped out of the bushes with a torch to shout at them. The site is very expensive and doesn't have a club or any sort of entertainment other than a small field with 2 swings and a climbing frame and a games room which you have to pay a £5 deposit and the kids must have an adult with them at all times. There was a large caravan pitched behind us and they seemed to be regulars as they got away with playing music after the 11pm curfew and also playing baseball on the camping field. We wouldn't choose to stay at this site again.

Our view of this excellent site was a little sullied by the fact that the site is by no means level. Although we'd booked well in advance for the early May bank holiday, we found that by time we'd arrived all level pitches had been taken by a mix of caravans, tents and motor homes. The staff did their best to accommodate us but the site was very busy and we ended up on a grassy slope which even our levellers were unable to compensate for. We shortened a 3 nights stay to one and moved on. Being novices, and newcomers to the C+CC, we'd naively thought that the club would ensure a level pitch was available for expected motor homes. However, we were told they always operate a 'first come first served' policy so we effectively took pot luck, even behind those who hadn't booked and weren't members. Bear this in mind when booking with the C+CC. Apart from that grizzle, the site was clean, well-maintained and very, very crowded (Bank Holiday). The wardens were genuinely helpful and friendly. The fish and chips were wonderfully cooked and very tasty. The nearby road was a bit noisy. We would return to this site but not at bank holidays.

July 2005 This is a fantastic site, especially if you want to tour North Yorkshire or just be handy for the beach. The beach is only 15 mins walk away. The facilities are excellent always clean and even in the height of the season you rarely have to queue. The site wardens are very helpful and try hard to accomodate each parties needs, e.g pitches near the children's play area, flat pitches etc. The site has many facilities i.e a shop, chip shop and information area. We have visited the site 5 times now and will return again next year.

July 2005 First visit to this site and was impressed at the efficient & friendly welcome we received. Generous sized pitches that drain well, we had rain from Tues lunchtime – Thurs morning and the tent did not float away.
Showers & toilets were kept clean and we did not have to wait at any time for the showers. Having said that I can imagine that at the height of the season the shower blocks could get a bit hectic, but if, as when we were there, it was mostly caravans they usually have their own showers.
The on-site shop is only good for those emergencies such as milk, bread & gas, and the chippy was not the best in the world but also ok for emergencies. There is a Beefeater next door to the site if you like everything with chips or packet mash but on the road into Scarborough there is a pub/hotel called The Ivanhoe. They provide good home cooked food at reasonable prices and also from Thurs-Sun offer a carvery.
This is an ideal location to explore North Yorkshire, with plenty of places to visit. Robin Hoods Bay, up the coast towards Whitby, is an absolute must, breathtaking views and a beautiful beach (when the tide is out of course), also the best fish & chips we have had in a long time.
We would definitely visit this site again.

July 2005 The wardens at this site were the friendliest and most helpful I have ever come accross. This is a large and very busy site and is a credit to the wardens.
The toilet blocks are typical to club sites and are adequate if not inspiring. The site is attractive and only a couple of miles from the town centre.
The coastal path is a field away and makes for a lovelly walk. There is a very busy coastal road adjacent to the site, if you're easily disturbed go to the far side of the site away from the road. If you a cyclist the off road track from Scarborough to Whitby via Robin hoods bay is worth the effort and the North Yorkshire Moors railway is good, If only to see the chaotic way its run, (our train was 1 hour and a quarter late) but the views are incredible.
We had a great fortnights holiday at this site, helped by a mini heatwave. We loved the grass / plastic hardstanding.

June 2005 We are regular users of this site, in our caravan and everything about it is excellent. The camping club staff are so friendly, they can not do enough for you.
The toilets are always spotless as are the showers, we even get our 5 year old in them.
There is a small shop and fish shop on site and a activities room which has table tennis and pool.
There are 2 small play areas and although limited the kids are happy with it. As it is a camping club site, there is always at least 6 metres between pitches, so even when it is busy, it always seems spacious. The site has a brewsters pub with a kids indoor and outdoor playground next door and there is another family pub within a mile's walk away, with a play bus. The site is great for Scarborough, Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors.
The good thing about this site is there is never any noise after 10.30 p.m allowing a peaceful sleep.
The only bad point I can think of is the site does get very muddy in some areas, early in the season.
