We've just returned from 3 nights and loved the site and the facilities, toilets and shower blocks were always clean, the family room showers\toilets were excellent. Although the pitch we were allocated was a bit too close to the Field Lane road which was quite noisy. I'm sure if we'd asked we would have been able to move but after pitching the tent it seemed more hassle than it was worth. So if we go again we will ask to see if we can go nearer the larger child play area, which would have been better for us with two small children aged 2 & 4. Staff were very friendly. There is a Tesco Express just down the road and a very nice Proudfoots (local supermarket which we preferred) on Scalby Road turn left out of the site along to the end of Field Lane then left onto Scalby Road.

Great site with excellent, clean facilities. Plenty of hot water. Washing up facilities excellent.
Family rooms which are great for showering the kids :-)
Onsite cafe provides a limited choice, but is good value for money.
Friendly, helpful staff who are pleased to offer advice about the site, but also about the local area.
Would definitely stay again - highly recommendd!

Our first visit to a C&CC site - we liked it so much that we joined the club during our stay - it saved us £6 per night too and we will hopefully more than recoup the membership fee back through the year.
Very helpful staff who were able to find a pitch close to a playground for our 2 young children, and a dog walk to accommodate the needs of our aged dog.
Drove into Scarborough and went on the Dragon boats, the mini train and the beach. More than enough entertainment there as there are many things that we didn't have time to do - Sea life centre, water flume, coastal walk etc.
On our last night at the site, there was a great disturbance from a couple who had been drinking. The campsite staff responded quickly and efficiently and were very good at letting us know what the outcome of the situation was. It is good to know that there is 24 hour support if needed.
There are lots of rules, but we found it quite reassuring to know, for example, that owners who allow their dogs to poo and not clean up after them will be asked to leave the site.
We will definitely go back again.

Site was brilliant. Toilets, showers etc really well kept. Pub next to the site is good for a drink when wandering back. Found a brill' pub with really good grub, The Old Scalby Mills and is about 10-15 minute walk, at most. Follow signs for Sealife Centre, you can't miss it.
Great weekend.

Good location for Scarborough and trips to Robin Hood's bay and Whitby. Coastal footpath easily accessible after crossing busy road, and short walk to a small no-facility nearby beach (scramble down hill for access), with good rockpools and sand at low tide. Scarborough North Beach (the quieter and much less commercial of the Scarborough beaches) easily walkable (30 min) on this path or via road, which has good sized pavement. Cycleway on disused railway close too, with routes up to Robin Hood's, but we didn't try this.
Like other C&CC sites I have used, very high standard of clean facilities, helpful and friendly staff, excellent ratio of facilities to campers, good playground facilities for under 10s.Also you always know you will get a good size pitch on their sites.Showers (free) wereadvertised as environmentally friendly, but they were among the most powerful I have used on a camp site, with well-designed spacious cubicles.
Some parts of site adjacent to A road and a bit of traffic noise but quiet further away from road. As commented elsewhere, shop understocked ( imagine cold-war east Europe), but Tesco Express under a mile away. On-site chip shop didn't smell very appetising and overdue an oil change I think.
Not a cheap site but not a problem for me when you get good facilities. Would recommend highly if you were staying in the area.

We have just spent the bank holiday weekend at this site and we have had an excellent time. The site is huge and by far the best that we have ever stayed on. The site is neat and tidy, well organised and the staff were all really friendly. The site is very peaceful and a great base for traveling around the surrounding area's. The showers were very clean and spacious with constant hot water and there are lots of them. We especially liked the parent and child rooms, ideal if you are taking little ones with you. There are 2 separate play parks so the little ones are catered for as well. There is a nice Brewers Fayre handy if your looking for a beer or a meal, and a Tesco is quite nearby for for any fresh stuff. There is also a fish and chip shop on site. We found it well maintained and well managed and would definitely go back again.

This is a large site, but peaceful and relaxing with very large pitches and a real feeling of space. The toilets and showers were immaculate and the whole site was very well maintained. The staff were extremely helpful, and very friendly even offering to site my caravan, and there was no problem with staying late on Sunday until whatever time we wished. (No eviction at 12!). In general this is exactly how a camping site should be operated, and other sites could benefit by looking at it.

This is a very big site with good facilities. There are lots of toilets and showers and the staff are very friendly. There is a lovely clifftop walk to the north beach and Sealife centre. We have now visited this site 3 times and are certain to go again.

This site is everything you’d expect from a C&CC site, everything to a high standard, and all the usual facilities. The toilet blocks were very clean. This is a lovely well run site with very helpful and friendly staff. The weather was very bad the time we stayed so they moved us from a grass pitch to hardstanding. They had lovely dog walk with great views. They had a small shop, which is run separately from CC&C and fish & chip shop. They also had a games room. This is a very large site so I didn’t get to see all around it so I can’t tell you everything about the site. Scarborough North Bay is a 15 minute walk, I recommend the Old Scalby Mills pub near the sea life centre, children and dogs very welcome and wonderful selection of Real Ales with good views over the North Bay. There is also a Tesco express with a cashpoint in walking distance from the site. You could also try a walk to Scalby village which have a couple of pubs.

It was our first visit to this site and without being rude to the person that left the review previous to me, we loved this site, we had no faults what so ever. As it was our first time to the site we found the staff very friendly, when we got there they couldn't help us enough with pointing every thing out, the nearest pub/shop/ etc. The staff were never in our face we saw just enough of them which was fine by us. We were camping that week in June when we had the awful weather (then again when has it been nice recently?) We got here on the Tuesday morning after the downpour on the Monday. The ground was soggy underfoot but this was nature not the sites fault. The site is big, but not overcrowded at all, they have 4 toilet blocks, which are very clean. I cant stress enough how clean they were (we are very fussy) the staff would go in and bleach the toilets in the morning before the rush and the block we were near shut for an hour in the afternoon for cleaning and then the staff would bleach the loos again around 11ish in the evening- I thought this was fab! I did notice that the site had play areas but I don't have any children so I cant say what these were like. You have to go through a barrier to get onto the actual site, which they give you the number for, so there was nobody as I saw speeding around- in fact the opposite. The shop on site was quite bare with stock but with the Tesco Express just down the road it didn't really matter. One thing I did enjoy, the on site take away, unfortunately we didn't have the fish and chips but we did eat breakfast there one morning which was very handy and very tasty too! By the end of our 4days the ground near our tent was like Glastonbury but it didn't stop us having a good time and enjoying this lovely site. One tip, ladies save your 20ps for the hair dryers!
