The site is very well-maintained and all the facilities clean.
It is though a family site with many caravans and camper-vans so if you want the real rustic experience you need to find a smaller place.
We found camping here in August just too busy and wouldn't return this month as kids on bikes everywhere and many unsupervised screeching and shouting and using the toilet walls as a goal during daylight hours so we cleared off 9-late every day where possible. I wore earplugs most of the time.
This could have been a problem of our pitch of course but peace and quiet was very rare indeed.
I think we might go out of season if we could understand the pricing system( pitch price, person price, car price, electricity price) and find a more competitive rate

Visited this site on the second week of the summer school holidays. We (2 adults and 2 teenage boys) visited this site because of i'ts proximity to Scarborough. The site is large but never felt crowded and we never queued for showers, toilets or pot washing and there was no noise after 10. 30/11pm. We pitched on the field behind the barrier which, was level but looking around some pitches are on slight slopes. The shower blocks were clean and warm, the showers were very hot (for me) but perfect for my husband and boys. The ladies shower block I used had a coin operated hairdryer which I didn't use but plenty of people did. There is a room near the laundry which, houses the 2 table tennis tables (take your own bats and balls or purchase from reception) a pool table which, was out of order and a table football which, again was out of order. This room also housed several tables and chairs and a large screen tv if like us didn't take our tv. From the site entrance across a field you can access the Cleveland Way which, takes you down to the Sealife Center a good 20/25 minute coastal walk. You can walk from site along Buriston road into Scarborough past the Tesco express 10 minutes and open air theater and Pesholm Park 20 minutes. Also from site through a gate you can go to the Scalby Manor pub which was busy with meals we didn't eat there but had a few drinks one evening and played pool as the sites pool table was out of order. Going back to the site there is a laundry room which houses 3 large washers and 3 large dryers wash = £3. 50 and 20 minutes dryer = £1. This room also houses a coin operated iron and ironing board. The site is very clean and well run, great site for visiting the attractions of the north east coast we will go again.

Arrived on our motorcycle during a downpour and our initial impression was of slight disappointment. In comparison to Woodhall Spa, which we had just left, it felt much larger and commercialized.
We were sited on a slightly sloping pitch at the top of the site which was fine. All facilities as you would expect from a C&C site with a games/tv room.
It is this sites location that makes it so good. There is a pub/carvery next door that is as cheap a chips. There is a cliff top walk to Scarborough North bay which is a must but you can also go by road if the weather is a bit wild(we had 2 days of gales whilst there).
We only intended to stay 3 nights but nearly stayed a week as there was so much to do. Recommended - Scarborough harbour/Old town, Whitby, Eden Camp (if you have a wet day), Filey and Flamborough Head and riding the North Yorks moors via Helmsley and Goathland. Wish we had visited Robin Hoods Bay but ran out of time.
Would definitely stay again if not so far from home(Kent).

We booked this due to its proximity to Scarborough, on arrival we were a little dismayed at the site appeared enormous and chaotic.
Once we had booked in and were taken to our pitch our opinion changed. Well spaced out pitches with reasonably firm grass standings. The view from the arrival doesn't do the site justice. That being said it really is a big site with 200+ pitches.
The facilities blocks were old but very clean and even though site was really busy there were never any queues. Wardens were excellent, considering just how busy they are they do a fabulous job and always appeared cheerful.
The walk along the cliffs to Scarborough South Bay was just over 4 miles, slightly less coming back if you cut through town. The site is just 5 minutes fro the Cleveland Way with brilliant walk up the coast taking to Whitby.
For us it was a bigger and busier site that we would normally choose, for many others it will be about perfect.

We stayed here for a week & thoroughly enjoyed it the staff were very helpful& always had time for a chat the site was very well maintained & there was even a small takeaway bar that sold fish & chips & breakfast. There is also a crown carvery at the end of the site which comes in very handy if you don't want to cook. There are plenty of places to visit aroud there. Whitby is a lovely little fishing town & very quaint. Pie and mash shop is a must try! will return again to this site.

We have just returned after the May holiday weekend. The staff were very helpful, although a bit harassed by 'everyone' arriving at once. But we were directed onto our pitch. The hardstanding pitches are covered with grass which I really like (not experienced this before). Was Fab!
The site was very busy and the facilities handled the crowds well. It is very clean and nicely lawned. It was easy to find and a first class site.

We stayed at the Scarborough Camping and Caravan site to trial run a touring caravan having previously owned a Dandy folding camper. (We had been to the site a few years ago when it was called Scalby Manor Site and run by Scarborough Council. ) The site is easy to find and has good access as well as being very well looked after. Toilets and showers are very clean with plenty of hot water. There is also a laundry and dish washing area. Staff were friendly and helpful - as the site wasn't full, we were given the option to choose a pitch, which was great! A Pub that served lovely inexpensive breakfasts and carveries could be accessed through a gate at the top of the site. (we made plenty use of it although it does get very busy. )If you fancy it, there's a beautiful walk along the cliffs that takes you into Scalby Mills and Scarborough North Bay. The panoramic views of the coastline to the Castle are amazing. Scarborough has a variety of shops both High street and gift. The North Bay with the park and lake is peaceful and tranquil, while the South Bay is lively with amusement arcades and boat trips available from the harbour. The beaches on both bays are kept clean and there is ample parking along the sea front stretching from North Bay to South Bay. We love Scarborough. We've had many happy family holidays in Scarborough and we keep returning to this site.

Our first trip away in the van this year and our first encounter too with the Club's new pricing policy. We usually spend a few days in Scarborough early on in the season and have paid ~£15/night at this Site with our age concession. This year, we got 5p change from £19/night so an increase of over 25%. The price still seems reasonable compared to other nonclub locations but still seems like a stiff increase. At the same time, the Site team was still opening and cleaning toilet blocks and not all of the facilities were in use. It felt like the Club had decided to cut cost by not giving staff enough time to get everything ready for the season.
We were able to do some good walks, visits to the excellent Stephen Joseph Theatre and trips into town. We'll certainly be back but the Club needs to get its Corporate rather than local site act together.

We love the location of this site, being just across the road from a walk which takes you through fields and along the cliff tops overlooking the sea, which our dogs loved. Its also handy for the pub next door. The regular Bus service with a stop just outside the site, is handy for a trip into the centre of Scarborough without having to worry about parking. The site could benefit from more hard standing pitches.

We spent 2 nights at this site. Fantastic site, great layout the facilities very good and kept immaculate. Park for the kids to play in and very quiet even when busy
Staff very friendly and eager to help. Restaurant just a few mins walk so no need to travel if needed. Would also recommend the fish and chip shop on site. Good quality and value for money.
Very convenient for North Bay. A scenic 15 mins cliff top walk drops you in to the bay. Lots of investment has been done making it a nice area to spend the day at the beach. Sealife centre good for a visit if a little expensive. Peasholm park good for a day out with loads to do.
