Just come back from our first ever camping trip and we could not have chosen a better site!
We checked in quickly and efficiently and shown to our pitch by a friendly and informative warden.
Our pitch was on very slight incline backing onto road which was a little noisy later at night, but not too bad. The pitches were well spread out, so we did not feel crowded
The toilet & shower blocks were very clean and we never had to queue despite it being bank holiday and always had hot water. We did not avail ourselves of all the facilities such as recreation room and chippy, but can recommend take out bacon sarnies for breakfast!
The nearby pub - scalby manor - serves a bargain carvery at £3.50 (£6.50 on sundays!) which looked delicious.
Sea life centre is within walking distance - which my daughters loved but it was a bit pricey
Scarborough is bustling seaside town - castle offers a spectacular respite from all this.
Overall I would recommend this site to any one and I can see us visiting again (though not to visit the town!)

Great site! Staff efficient and very helpful.
The toilet area was excellent and attended to on a regular basis. Very clean. Pot washing area was enclosed to protect from adverse weather and the water supply and waste disposal areas very well sited.
There is a take away/cafe on site selling breakfasts and fish and chips. Good quality and good portion sizes. The prices were reasonable too.
The site access is good with the added security of an electric barrier system with access code which was provided when checking onto the site.
There is also a pub which borders the site. It is not part of the site but has a access gate on the south side perimiter. Very popular offering a carvery for £3.50.
For convenience there is a Tesco express just down the road if the on site shop runs out.
Only down side was the main road at the side of the site was busy. Leading to traffic noise but nothing you can't live with.
Well worth a visit.

Very clean, grass cut every time a unit moved off, grass cutters were always on patrol for a long blade. Tesco nearby which was good for provisions etc, quite spacious yes definitely a CC&C site.
Very expensive which would make me look for a smaller more private site next time

Third visit to this site and once again we were really impressed. First couple of times we were in a motorhome, this time in a tent, so this time we did notice some of the pitches are on a bit of a slope but not bad enough to be a real issue.
The whole site is well maintained, the landscaping, gardening and general upkeep is excellent. The reception and small shop are adequate and the room containing local information is very well put together with lots of useful numbers and leaflets.
The toilet and shower blocks are really good and extremely clean, the shower cubicles are a good size with plenty of hooks and the vanity sinks are private. The water pressure and temperature does fluctuate a bit, but not noticeable enough to be a problem.
The staff are all pleasant and helpful and the Fish & Shop on site is very good and does a decent selection of takeaway meals plus is now also open for breakfasts too.
The overall location of this site is very good, in easy walking distance of the Sea-Life Centre and North Bay, plus there is a good bus route from just outside the campsite. Across the road there is a public foot-path which leads to the cliff top walk (Cleveland Way), which is well worth the walk.
The pub next door is useful for basic pub grub and a decent pint.
The price per night is very reasonable for the facilities provided.
Once again we have had a really good break here at this family friendly site and will have no hesitation is visiting again next year.

Visited this site for out maiden voyage in our new camper van.
The site was really busy in terms of the numbers of vans present but it never felt crowded and you didn't have to queue for showers or toilets.
There are plenty of shower blocks and they were clean and modern. The showers are set to one temperature which might be a little too hot for young kids. And the shower cubicles aren't separated at floor level so you get the shower next door's water going down your plug. Fine apart from that.
Fish shop on site is great. The 'large' portion of chips is very large.
Dogs have to be kept on a lead on site (understandable) but a dog walk is provided and you can leave the site and cross the main Burniston Road and join a public footpath to the Cleveland Way which is about 5 minutes walk away and follows the cliff tops and has stunning views.
Staff at the site were friendly and helpful. We were shown to our pitch and everything was well explained, which was especially welcome as it was out first time.
The carvery for £3.50 at the pub next door is outstanding value but it gets busy quickly.
At night the site has a quiet rule after a certain time. (11:30 I think it was) This was well observed and it was very quiet on the site itself except for boy racers on the road outside at night and bikes in the morning. It was only occasional vehicles going past and wasn't a problem.
And a big thanks to the couple next to us who lent us a pan!

Just got back from site and it was the best, toilets very clean , and the parents and child room very good idea hope other sites take note. The wardens were friendly, and the people on site were too. Its good for kids, playgrounds not that big, but loads of room for them to run about. Found a very very good pub called the Ivanhoe only 10 mins walk from site - better than the scalby manor at the top of the site. You must must go and get a breakfast from the site cafe see if you can eat a big one. You get a lot of space as well, try not to be on the road side can be a little noisy

Just returned from a four night break at this site. We were a little worried when we arrived to see how busy it was, with a mix of tents, camper vans and caravans (all pitched side by side in places) but soon realised that the good lay out ensured we didn't feel at all cramped - though the usual space rule didn't seem to apply. The site is a mix of open grass and wooded areas. Pitching the tent in a wooded area did mean a few bent tent pegs and lots of tree sap dripping on the tent but it also provided some welcome shade when the sun was out.
There are a number of facility blocks, each with toilets, showers, a washing up area, ample bins & drinking water - the facilities were kept very clean and were rarely busy. The reception area was always manned with very friendly & knowledgeable staff. It also contained a small shop which stocked the basics like milk, newspapers, a small selection of tinned foods, sweets & a few toys for the children - also some camping essentials like tent pegs, ropes and even disposable BBQs.
The site is entered via a barrier operated by a keypad and a security number which makes the site reasonably secure - there are gates but they didn't seem to be closed during our stay. There is a road running along the edge of the site, it isn't particularly busy but seems to attract boy racers late at night who tear past with engines revving. Our pitch backed onto this road but, thanks to the border of trees, some of the noise was blocked out and the noise wasn't unbearable.
For the children there are a couple of play areas. With swings, a slide and climbing frame. The site is within walking distance of Scarborough (a 5 minute drive) - we found Scarborough too busy so preferred the slightly longer drive (15mins) to Filey for a lovely clean beach. Whitby was a short drive North and touring the Abbey and harbour is a nice afternoon trip out. Flamingo Land theme park/zoo is a 40min drive away and is a great day out for the children (though is slightly pricey with no reductions for children over 3). Eden Camp is also under an hour away (between York & Scarborough) and is a great place to spend 3 or 4 hours - set in a former PoW camp, it is a museum dedicated to the 2nd World War.
All in all we had a great stay at this site and would definitely return. Positives were cleanliness and location - negatives were very few but the night-time noise from the road had to be the main one.

Excellent site - the only drawback being 'Frau Hitler' in reception, who tends to bark at you if you dare to ask a simple question, all other staff very friendly & helpful.
We caught a bus into Scarborough from Scalby village (exactly 1 mile away) & from there were able to connect with the Moors bus which covered the length & breadth of the moors - wonderful value (even more so if you have a pass!)
The Carvery next to the site was excellent - two courses & half a lager for £8 & the quality of the food was good too.
We were parked next to the toilet block just inside the gate & given the size of the site thought it might be a bit noisy, but not a bit of it.
The facilities were immaculate with plenty of room & a jet of water which would do a fireman proud!

Just returned from a stay at this site we stayed for 5 nights.
When we arrived the children had only just broken up for summer and we were shown to a pitch with only 4/5 other units but by the weekend it was full.
In summary
*Friendly helpful staff.
*Quiet site (even though lots of children).
*Clean site, spacious pitches etc.
*Two childs play areas , perhaps not so suitable for older children
*Several heated Toilet /Shower blocks cleaned reguarly. The water is HOT.
Its just a shame people can't leave them in the manner in which they find them. I do wonder how some people live , do they not flush toilets at home!
*I only once couldn't use the shower or toilet when I needed to.
*Shop (only stocks the bare basics) but two minute drive down the road is a Teso Express.
*Pub within walking distance, serves carvery at £3.50 which I have to say was very decent, I have paid 3-4 times that for a meal and had worse food.
IF YOU DO GO FOR A MEAL GET THERE EARLY AS IT GETS VERY BUSY.
*I thought the site was very good and would definitely return but I do think it's a little overpriced.

Our first time with the Camping & Caravan Club and were a little hesitant, but this site more than met our needs.
A very large site but you don't get the feeling it is as there are lots of fields and it is very well laid out.
The facilities are extremely clean and never had to wait, the staff were very helpful too and placed us near the parc on request.
15/20 min walk to the North Beach (and you walk past 3 lovely pubs). Our children are 3 & 1 and I would definitely recommend this site.
