Well just arrived at site, week 2 of holidays. The wardens were friendly and realy helpful. Requested a hardstanding pitch close to toilet block and with Wifi. Great pitched right opposite toilet blocks an fab internet connection.
Was told that the toilet blocks opposite were locked due to the heating just packing up, so had a walk round the site to find all but one other toilet block was locked. The small toilet block to the left of us is open but only 2 showers. Although the site is not full it is a little disheartening that there are only 2 showers for the number of people who are on the site. It is a beautiful site with plenty of local attractions and there is a bus stop right outside the site entrance again only downer is that they do not run on a sunday or school holidays, so a bit of a let down as it is school holiday time now, so it looks like we will have to do the beautiful cliff top walk into Scarbrough! It does seem as if the club may be trying to cut down on costs and only open limited toilet blocks and pitch people rather close together, on the hole though a beautiful site.

a very well run site with a small shop on site which you can obtain papers and basic food eg. Bread milk
there was 4 shower blocks and a number of toilets with free hot water
also a children's play area and a bbq area too. Nearby is a pub serving good priced meals and on the site is a chip shop and cafe serving a very good range of meals.
If I found a fault it was there was not a bus service which ran past the site so you need transport or good walking boots, as the bus stop into Scarborough is a walk away

I agree with previous review. The waste water and fresh water are on the same stand pipe and it smells terrible. The tents were close to each other, we were told 6 large steps between each tent, but we couldn't do 6 steps because there was a tent on either side. The first day we were there the large toilet block showers were cold due to a problem and there was a queue for the small ones (2 showers only. )
The site is slightly on a slope, but being in a tent didn't affect us really.
The Wi-Fi didn't work in most of the camp only 1 side seemed to get it. We were advised to see if we could get the signal before buying the voucher, seeing that they only had 1 mast. Spoke to another camper who was in another field and he couldn't get it either. So why advertise Wi-Fi if most of the camp cant get it.
But all in all it is in a nice spot for Scarborough and will visit again, but we will walk round first to pick a better spot. The staff did only what was required, just going through the motions and this is why I have given such a low score.

Visited last week in June Mon- Fri. Site location was excellent. Staff at reception were extremely efficient and friendly.
Now the negatives-
1- No sign off main road ( from direction of Whitby )just saw c and cc sign at last minute, had to slam brakes on to turn right, good job no one behind us !
2-We booked a grass pitch, we were asked if we had any preference, asked to be close to dog exercise field. We were given pitch 187 which with hind sight we should have refused, we were packed in like sardines, which we couldn't understand as site was not at full capacity ( reception staff said 56 spare pitches). The field to our left was almost empty and to the front of us had only 1 tent on ehu. So why pack the caravans so tightly together!?
3- We have a large twin axle which was difficult to level on this pitch.
4-Our nearest toilet block was closed ( no reason why ).
5- could only find 1 chemical disposal point on whole site, if you have to empty toilet don't go between 9-10 in morning the queues were large, never had this before on a site.
6-The fresh water tap and waste water disposal were right next door to each other sharing the same standpipe, thought this was a bit unhygenic the smell from the waste water drain was over powering when filling up the water hog.
7- The dog field is adequate with 2 dog waste bins
Positive points
1- Probably the best location for visiting Scarborough, over the road is an excellent walk through a farmers field to the coastal cliffs. The walk takes you to North bay Scarborough approx 25 mins, there is a pub Scalby Mills, just before North bay beach which does pretty good food and you can take dogs, a good stop off for refreshments before you hit Scarborough itself.
2-Good value for money.
Would we go again, for value for money and location yes, would spend a few minutes walking around site before we checked in to see available pitches. The staff as stated before are a credit.
Would avoid July/Aug as don't think pitches are large enough for stay to be enjoyable.

Another great site! We were really impressed with how well organised it was and found all the wardens to be really helpful.
On arrival, we were booked in and asked to wait in the car park from where we were taken to our pitch. We were asked how close to the facilities we wanted to be and when I mentioned we had our baby with us were placed near the Parent and Baby room (which is a fab idea!) plus pitches were a lovely size and it felt like there was plenty of room between you and any neighbours. Some of the pitches are on a slope but ours wasn't too bad and we managed to move the tent onto flatter ground.
We found the facilities to be clean and well kept. The Parent and Baby room was really useful and was a bit like a wet room with a large shower and baby bath, a toilet, a sink, a baby changing unit and a step and trainer seat for toddlers.
There were also a wide range of other facilities (a number of toilet blocks, laundry and recreation room) Ladies please note- there is nowhere to plug your own hairdrier etc in the toilets and their own hairdrier costs 20p (not sure how long for)
While we were on this site we made good use of the takeaway (lazy weekend) and tried it for tea and breakfast. The fried breakfasts were particularly good and we would really recommend them. There is also a pub next door (Scalby Manor) which you can get to through a gate from the campsite and they do a fab carvery for less than £4 per person!
The shop on site is well stocked with the basics and is good to tide you over until you can get to a supermarket but there is also a Tesco Express just down the road.
This really is a great sight and has inspired us to look for other Camping and Caravan Club sites. We would highly recommend it!

We were recommended this campsite by friends as being an excellent choice for our first weekend in our 'new' caravan, and it was a very good suggestion.
Finding the site was straightforward, access and towing on the site were easy. The wardens were welcoming and friendly, despite our late arrival (9.30 on a rainy Friday night).
There are several toilet blocks on site, the one nearest to us was always clean whenever we used it, there was no additional charge for shower use and the hot water was warm and plentiful. We made most use of the family bathroom, which was never busy and again was always clean.
There is a small children's playground on site (which our 4 year old loved), there's also a shop and a games room - neither of which we used, and a sign saying fish and chips were available on Friday and Saturday evenings (again, not something we tried as we were more excited about testing out the oven in our van!). There's also a pub serving food within a couple of minutes walk through a little gate at the back of the site.
The weather was poor for most of our stay so we didn't get chance to explore much of the surrounding area on foot. We did take the car down to Scarborough, just a couple of miles easy drive, but this is definitely a campsite that we intend to go back to!

My wife,8 year old daughter and I visited this site the first week in april and were pitched at the side of my mother and father in their caravan. The site was very well maintained, Shower blocks were exceptionally clean and warm.
There are two kids playgrounds on site which my daughter used every day, Play room with pool table and two table tennis tables although you need to take your own bats and ball, although we didn't know this until we got there, we bought a table tennis ball from the site shop and one of the wardens very kindly lent us his bats.
There is a very good fish and chip shop on site which was only open two or three times a week as it was still out of the high season, but we did try it and they were very good.
Scalby manor is situated next door and is accessible via a gate from the site, this offers breakfasts, carvery and meals and drinks etc and a kids playground.
The site is situated about 30 to 40 minutes walk from scarborough harbour and you can walk along the cliff tops which has some very good scenery
All in all a very pleasant week and we will definitely be visiting again.

I will try to be objective when writing this review, having just returned from a 7 night stay during half term. We took advantage of the 7 nights for the price of 5 deal from the C&CC. Anyway, points in it's favour:
1. Easy to find using the map provided online by the C&CC. Handy position to get to Scarborough, Whitby and the surrounding attractions.
2. Spacious, if sloping, pitches
3. Clean toilets/showers (but being late in the season only 2 blocks actually open and the ones closest to us were not very warm on chilly mornings. We often had to queue for a shower).
4. Well laid out and good lighting all over the site.
5. Handy take away (which did a tasty home made steak pie).
6. The carvery at Scalby Manor pub next door to the site was good value, if busy at times.
Now we get to the bad points:
1. We were sited at the 'top' of the site closest to the A road that goes into Scarborough and boy, was it noisy! From early morning until well into the night cars / trucks / buses thundering past. I found it very intrusive. Pitches further away may be better but you can still hear the traffic noise all over the site.
2. Pitches not at all well drained. We were on hardstanding which was of the 'mesh under the grass' variety and this soon became bogged down and muddy underfoot.
3. This October half term was designated to be mid season (unlike in previous years, when it was low season) and we were charged accordingly but only 2 of the shower blocks were open and the recreation room did not seem to be in use either (it was locked on the 2 occasions we tried to use it with no notices / explanation). If I am paying mid season price, I would expect the available facilities to reflect this.
4. On arrival, I found one of the wardens to be distinctly unfriendly, asking rather abruptly for both membership cards for myself and my husband, something I have never been asked to provide on the many other C&CC sites we have been to. Hardly a pleasant welcome and I was made to feel rather uncomfortable.
I don't think I am being overly picky but when asked if I would use this site again, I would have to say, probably not. Pity really because we really liked the surrounding area and the kids loved Scarborough itself, but the noise from the adjacent road is the main reason we would not return.

A large, clean efficiently run site typically from the C & C club with many heated toilet blocks, quiet at night though some slight road noise from coastal road so if traffic noise is an issue ask to be sited inward a bit.
Scalby Manor pub next door with a very cheap carvery but thought the real ales were a bit below par so if beer quality is high on the agenda head for the GBG listed Scalby Mills next to the sea life centre which beside beer quality does food all day and gives good views of the sea, there is a nice walk along the seafront from there too.
For the energetic the cycle route to Whitby starts just down the road and the Cleveland Way is nearby via a footpath opposite the site(now open). As previously mentioned Scarborough can be walked to in about 45 mins though there is an infrequent bus service at the site entrance.

We have just come home from 9 nights stay at Scarborough camping and caravan club site. There toilets and showers were cleaned daily and the site is kept very tidy. The only problem we found they have closed the gate on the side of site which is opposite the footpath to Cleveland way walk and the bus stop. They have a notice saying bridge was unsafe which was over the small dyke, so why don't they get it repaired.
We enjoyed the area we visited Scarborough, Whitby, and Filey and also enjoyed a train journey across the moors on the steam trains from Pickering.
