Just returned from a very enjoyable 5 night stay here. This is a fairly large site, but as always with the C&CC there is generous space between units. Some pitches slope, but unless the site is really busy I reckon you'd be able to get a flat one. Not all the pitches are beside a road, so reaching some of them means driving on the grass between units, not a problem as long as people don't leave their belongings spread around.
Facilities are to the usual high standard. The two toilet blocks near us were always clean & looked pretty new. Plenty of showers & lots of hot water. Not so sure about the doormats under the urinals though. There are no recycling facilities at all which was a pity.
We didn't use the take away, but it looked OK & I liked the idea of a breakfast cooked for you. There are two good sized play areas & a field for exercising dogs. The games room would be useful if the weather was bad.
There is a path from near the entrance along the cliff to Scarborough North Bay. The last 1/2 mile into town can be done on the little tourist train ending at Peasholm Park. Whilst there you must see the unique miniature naval battle with pyrotechnics & organ accompaniment. It is just the most bizarre & funny spectacle. Well worth the money!
Two lovely clean beaches, castle, donkey rides, open top bus trip, variety show at the Spa Theatre, fish & chips on the beach from Harry Ramsdens with drinks for under £11 for the 3 of us! Day trips to Whitby & Flamingo Land (buy your tickets from Scarborough TIC for a good discount & beat the queue). Loads of new attractions there - really good day.
Scarborough really did look as though it has been busy & wants to welcome visitors. Clearly there has been a lot of money spent sprucing up the facilities & work still seems to be on going. The sun shone all week & we loved the place!

Have just had a very pleasant week here, staff are very helpful, lending us extension hook up as ours would never have reached. No extra charge at that!
Very large camp site and like previous comments some landscaping wouldn't go a miss. Showers hot and plentiful, did not have to queue once even with the site full.
Overall would recommend as a great base for coastal and inland attractions, such as flamingo land, york, castle howard etc.

Just spent a week here during the half-term holidays, found it very busy, but it's such a large site that it didn't appear crowded.
I think the site would benefit from some hedges to break things up a bit as it otherwise appear to be just row upon row of caravans/tents.
The facilities were very clean, but perhaps a bit dated and there was plenty of hot water. The shop sells basic groceries and papers can be pre-ordered. Didn't try the fish and chip shop, but apparently they are very good. There is also a pub right next door to the site with a connecting gate, although this is locked on Friday nights because of a car boot sale in the pub car park on Saturday's.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and will show you the way to your pich, usually by whizzing ahead of you on their push bike.
A petrol station and a small Tescos are just around the corner, in Scarborough itself you can find bigger superstores as well as the usual high street favourites.
Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay lie just to the north and are well worth a visit. We ventured into Scarborough itself on quite a few occasions, parking is reasonably priced. Didn't use the bus service which stops just outside the site.
Great site, we've been to other sites in the Scarborough area, this one rates as our favourite.

Went to this campsite for the bank holiday week at the end of May. Found the campsite really easily and on arrival was seen really quickly by the ladies on the reception. We booked this site because we had family members also booked and asked if we could be near them, the ladies on the reception advised us to tell the gentlemen outside on bikes and we were found a stop in front of my aunt and uncle. Really friendly staff and always helpful.
The toilets and showers were cleaned daily, but I would have expected more than two showers as sometimes we had to wait. There was a park for the kids on the site who looked as though they were enjoying themselves, there was also a kids room with table tennis and various other games.
There was a cafe on site which did breakfast, meals and fish and chips at night which were very nice. There was a pub next door which looked busy but we never went. We were advised to go to the Ivan something on the main road. I wouldn't recommend it as we had to wait nearly two hours for our meal, which when it finally was not satisfactory. Really poor service as well as we were told we'd be waiting 45 minutes.
Other than that we had a cracking time, the sealife centre is a definite must as well as scarborough north and south beaches.

We had our family camping trip here in our new Vango Icarus tent May bank holiday weekend.
The site itself is lovely, very well cared for. The toilets, showers, washing up areas were spotless. There is also a laundry and indoor play area with pool tables and table tennis. At both ends of the site there are children's play areas which suited our 19 month old toddler.
The only downside was the on site shop which had limited provisions but as commented below a garage and Tesco Express are only minutes away so make sure you stock up! The Sealife Centre in Scalby is 5 minutes away and well worth a visit.
Staff are friendly here and offered to help us move if we felt isolated after the Bank Holiday exodus. But we didn't.
We had a great weekend, the weather could have been kinder but we would definitely return here for a longer stay.

Our first outing in the van this year and it had slipped my mind what these C & C sites are like. When filling up with water, I had to be reminded by staff not to use the general taps but to go to the Motorhome Service Area as some people would complain.
The other side of the coin with C & C is the excellent and invariably high standard of their facilities. This Site is no exception - toilets all clean and modern, even if not all in use at this stage of the season.Plenty of space and what looked like reasonable children's play areas but I got the impression it might get claustrophobic when full.
Well situated for coastal walks and ~40 minutes into town. We walked to and from the Theatre.
Would go back happily.

I booked this site thinking (from its pictures) that this would be an attractive site with mature shrubbery. In reality however, I found the site to be just an expanse of grass with barely a hedge in sight. Bit of a let down.
The staff were helpful and friendly, but they possess the world's loudest and most annoying grass cutting machine. You can hear it droning away across the whole site (possibly because of the aforementioned lack of vegetation).
Thanks to some of the reviews below, we asked for a site away from the road - and we're very glad we did, for the noise from the road is really really bad - a mixture of boy racers and aging bikers.
Facilities on-site were tired but well-looked after.
Fish & Chip shop is the jewel in this site's crown - great fish & chips (proper chips as well).
Scalby Manor pub next door, as others have mentioned, do an all-day 7-day carvery for £3.59. It's not bad, and the drink prices are reasonable.
There's a petrol station on the way into Scalby which is competitively priced and a little bit further on, on the right, there's a Tesco Express.
You can walk into North Beach via the Cleveland way (accessed by a footpath opposite the site) which is a lovely scenic walk. Scarborough is accessible by bus from the roundabout. If you like arcades and candy floss and refuse-littered beaches, then Scarborough is for you! To be fair, however, there is a good shopping district with all the usual high-street names.
Whitby, a 45 minute drive up the coast is a charming sea-faring town with interesting shops, a haunting abbey, and fantastic views.
On the way back, don't miss Robin Hood's bay. Park at the top and walk down the steep incline and steps into the picturesque cottage filled bay.
York, though a bit further afield, is well worth the trip. We visited the National Railway Museum, Yorvik (viking excavations), and Yorkminster. Fantastic.

Visited over the Easter holidays and had a great time. We were unable to have a pitch with electric as they were all booked up however ran fine on a battery.
The Staff were great, they couldn't have helped more.It had rained quite a lot before we visited and the ground was quite wet in some places, however we were lucky to get a good pitch.
The showers were hot and powerful, the playground was an ample size for our children and the nearby pub was handy although very busy. There is a great fish and chip shop on site which doubles as a cafe and the breakfasts are great. Would definitely visit again.

The site is very large but many of the pitches seem to be close together, the pitch we had had no room for a vehicle and a porch awning side by side.
My daughter made a late decision to spend the weekend at Scarborough, but the web site showed fully booked until the day before when it showed room, though too late to book on line. When she rang to try and book she was told the site was full, but we noticed a number of pitches that were empty all weekend. I thought it strange that if the site was fully booked, why weren't all the ablutions open!
The site itself is well cared for with a number of toilet blocks, water points etc., but I was surprised to find that there is no recycling policy.
We found the Scalby Manor next door to the site offered excellent value for money with their carvery, and we ate there twice.
I think the best thing about this site is it's closeness to Scarborough and everything that Scarborough has to offer.
Would I go again, not sure it offers good value for money, so would probably choose a CS or CL if going to Scarborough.

I agree with previous reviews that this is a busy but spacious site. I did feel less than welcomed by the lady in reception and was chastised as we only had one of our membership cards (she didn't notice that it was last years though!)
We were directed to a very slopey pitch by the entrance to the caravan store. What were they thinking of?! We have a moderately large family tent and there wasn't a flat bit anywhere. After spending some time surveying the pitch, I gave up and went to reception with some trepidation given my experience a short time ago. Fortunately they did find us a flat pitch behind the caravan store which was spacious and peaceful. Although it was as far from the toilet block as you can get, it wasn't too far!
The facilities are excellent and there was no need to queue for showers - well not at the time I went anyway. There were some problems with some little scrotes who thought it was a good idea to block up the sinks and loos with paper and flood the gents.
The shop in reception is very basic but there are excellent convenience shops nearby. There is a little cafe / takeaway which we used on the first night - it was OK. There is also a Harvester carvery pub next door to the site with direct access to the site. This was OK but very busy.
Scarborough is a brisk walk away or there is a bus service with a nearby stop.
Overall pretty good after a shaky introduction to this site.
