Found this site at short notice, really helpful and friendly owners. No real rules on tent size unless you have a mothership! 5 mins walk from supermarket but still feels like it's out of town. Less than 15 mins walk to Cheddar Gorge and shops and pubs on the way.
The site: tent field well maintained with it's own wash up place and toilets, also a couple of pitches with electric hook ups. Showers are through the caravan parking but we had not problems. Good clean facilities. Used the laundry (well the dryer!) and it's fine.
We stayed an extra night because we were so happy with the site and the weather!
Adult only site which cost us £18 per night in high season. Would recommend

Lovely walks along the river that runs along the site. Can highly recommend. Somerset is such a pretty place to visit cheddar gauge is a must. We will be back at a later date.

Beautiful site. We stayed in the back field which was great for our dogs. Owners really friendly and make you feel welcome, the site is spotless and has great facilities.
The toilet and shower block are spotless, there is an indoor area for washing up, which also has lots of information about places to visit.
This site is a 10 min walk to Cheddar village, we found a lovely pub which did good food and sold local cider!
Will be going back very soon

We have been to this site many times and always get a very warm and friendly welcome.
The site owners go out of their way to be helpful.
The toilet blocks and showers are always clean and of a excellent standard, plenty of hot water and are free.
The site pitches are a very good size and even in high season there is a feel of openness and space around you.
On site there is a shop with the essentials and often the little treats of home baking and fresh strawberries that are absolutely huge.
We have been visiting this site for the last four years and can honestly say we have never stayed anywhere better.
The surroundings have everything you need nice local pubs and restaurants all available on foot a ten minute walk to the Gorge.

Firstly I have to say ' what great people' and most helpful. The site is well run and rather tidy with pretty gardens and plants. Of course we were down in the 'poor mans end' being tenters, but at least there is a campers loo near the field, and washing up facilities. The main shower block is amazing. You could have a party in each cubicle. Though there are not that many it never proved to be a problem.
So all roses ? well very nearly almost, but sadly the local village idiots were seen to walk the banked walk that runs the length of the tent field. This raised earth vantage point offered them amazing access to shower near tents with all manner of debris. I would encourage the local business community to approach the police in that region, as it would be such a shame to see a great business blighted by a couple of idiots.

Fantastic site, very clean and well maintained, ideal for a relaxing break,
The site is within walking distance to the gorge and local shops, the gorge is must see and I would recommend the full pass, you can take your dog into all the attractions.
The only down side to the camp site was the church bells, these rang throughout the night, although they did turn the volume down we still heard them however it was not a major issue,
Apart from that I would highly recommend this if you want a relaxing time.

My wife and myself stayed at this site for 10 days in July and despite the rain (Mostly at night!)
We had a very enjoyable stay. Good spacious pitches and we were made very welcome, We can thoroughly recommend the White Hart for drinks, food and friendly atmosphere.
If you are an addict try the car boot sale and flea market on Sunday, but allow yourself plenty of time!
We took the bus to Weston which obviously takes a little longer than the car but takes you into the villages.
A very enjoyable 10 days and we will be back!

I have been to this site several times, and feel I must give my thoughts,
The site itself is within easy walking distance to the gorge,
The showers are excellent and very clean,
The site also has a Mediterranean feel about it, they cater for both tents & caravan/motorhomes.
The pitches are very generous in size and are hard standing. There are some statics on site but you would not notice.
Although next to the local church the bells did not bother us. I would urge you to visit this site if you are in area.
Forgot to say this is an adults only site

I brought my elderly Jack Russell for his first camping trip here and we both loved it. The facilities in the camping field were pretty basic but very clean and had the additional bonus of a fridge/freezer for those pesky freezer packs. The main facilities block was excellent; clean, spacious and well-thought out.
The shop was well-stocked and the takeaway cream tea a brilliant idea - the perfect pick-me-up and reward for putting the tent up! The site owner was very friendly and good fun, which was important to me when I was on my own for the first few days.
The site is a very easy (mostly pedestrianised) stroll into the lovely town of Cheddar and anything you can't get from the shop you can pick up from the supermarket on your way into town. Cheddar gorge itself is really quite astounding and worth a trip in the evening when there are fewer people about.
All in all, this campsite was perfect for me and I couldn't have enjoyed my stay more!

Well what a revelation! So glad we decided to stay in a pod rather than our tent, after our long journey to the site we didn't have to mess around putting up the tent in the rain, which we have done for the last 4 years!
Just went straight in and put the kettle on. Nice and warm and dry. There was a tv, a plug socket and a lovely comfy sofa bed.
When we initially looked into staying in a pod, we had difficulty finding one that would allow us to take the dog. So glad we found cheddar bridge that would allow us to.
The site is very nice, I especially enjoyed being beside the stream. You can walk into Cheddar from the site which is very handy. The showers are much larger than other sites we have stayed on, the water was nice and hot.
I would definitely recommend a stay here, we are going back for sure in a pod I might add, not a tent! I'm converted.
