Very nice campsite, no children allowed so very quiet. showers excellent but there is only two so might get busy during bank hols etc. There's a stream running through which we were able to park next to, the fish enjoyed eating our bread crusts. There's lots to see and do locally, we were only there for two nights so only got round half of it. I can recommend the helicopter museum at Weston-Super-Mare. The local pubs in cheddar are within walking distance and are ok. No plans to return, it's a bit too quiet for us

Well its all been said! Would recommend this site, it is excellent! Showers are lovely and big, none of that 'wet floor, limited space putting on trouser balance' you have to perfect in most sites! Walking distance to all Cheddar attractions, for supplies and good food in pubs and restaurants. Our first outing this year. Thanks we will return!

This site is a gem, shower block nice, and clean, same as the pitches. Tracy, the owner so friendly, only site we have stayed at where owner was in no rush for our money. Pitches are nice and roomy. It is only a short walk to the Gorge and shops along a footpath with lights. This was our first visit, have booked for later in year.

Went to this site because it's adults only. Too long in the tooth to take kids all day! Brilliant site, owners very friendly also all year round. Owners very helpful. We went with a new tent, (mistake) never tried it out before only had it 1 week, but the people we went pitched next to were brilliant (cold beer and glass of wine very helpful) and his help to put up tent. Shower/toilets excellent, chinese in village will also deliver to tent if required (for the lazy ones) Will definitely be back but this time with trailer tent (hope we are parked next to people we met last year).

Great site and nice to get a friendly welcome. The owner did'nt even complain when I tripped the elecs! There is a path now at side of site so you don't have to walk on the road to get to the village. One nice touch was a selection of fresh herbs growing with a sign saying "help yourself".

September 2005 What can I say about this site FANTASTIC! Very clean facilities nice pitches, local to the village & Gorge, you really need to stay longer than a weekend as there is so much to see and do. Staff very friendly and very helpful nothing is too much trouble. We booked for 5 nights and stayed a few extra nights as the weather was great.
All the facilities are free i.e: Showers, washing up area... The Chedder Gorge caves are great, there is Western-Super-Mare, Glasonbury, Wells and lots of other nice places to visit. Nothing against children but it is so nice to go to a adults only site. If you visit this site you will definitely be visiting again.
There is a road which you walk along in to the village which is for pedestrians and bikes, but if you go on the main road be careful as there is no path and you do have to doge the cars coming round the corner. Also try The Oak House at Axebridge in walking distance (well about a 1 hour walk but very nice if you go round the reservoir) the food is great and reasonable.

It is a small, adults only site which is very well maintained with the the cleanest shower / toilet facilities I have ever come across, (Perhaps this is due to the lack of children). The showers are free to use, there is a washing / dryer(pay per use) and all areas are clean and tidy. There is also a fridge and a freezer on site that are free to use.
The site is small and well organised. It was nearly full when we visited and the pitches are a bit on the small side, but are well maintained. The site is very peacfull due to there being no rowdy children around.
Supermarket, a pub/restaurant and shops / take away closeby. Cheddar is a good base for touring around Somerset, Street is also very near, (Gents be warned, Street is well known for it's discounted retail park Clarks Village.
Lovely site, friendly people and great area. I would recommend it and return.

Really nice site in a great location. Within a 5 min walk of Cheddar and the Gorge. Campsite really nice and quiet but very dog friendly. Good area for walking dogs off site and the owners gave us directions to a couple of nice pubs that had dog friendly beer gardens. Toilet block clean with handy fridge freezer available. Will definitely be returning.

Just 3 words to sum up this camp site Excellant Excellant Excellant. Adults only very peaceful and quiet super facilities toilets and showers were spotless. Owners were very friendly and most helpful not much of a shop on the site but this was not a problem as a 5 minute walk is all it takes to reach the town or a little longer if you dont want to use the main road and avoid the traffic. We had plenty of room to pitch our tent on a nice flat surface that was on the side next to the graveyard whoooooooo. Great fun and a fantastic site will definetly return

There is very little I can add to other reviews about this site. I am very hard to please when it comes to my personal comfort and well being and usually find something to moan about - in this case I couldn't.
The site was about as perfect as you are likely to get. Flat grassy pitches (not mudflats) for tents and plenty of room. Tidy flat pitches for caravans. Clean washing and toilet facilities. Free use of large refridgerator/freezer for food and ice blocks. Free use of a family bathroom - with an actual bath! Genuinely friendly welcome on arrival.
Cheddar village is only 5 or so minutes walk away and the Gorge is on the far side of the village about another 5 minutes walk. Plenty to see and do in the area with an abundence of pubs, restaurants, take-aways, gift shops, clothing shops, and a camping/outdoor shop all in the village.
Ok...there has to be a moan otherwise you won't believe it's true.
There is some noise from the road but not too much and it becomes quiet at night. There was a little noise from the roadway leading to the football ground - mostly pedestrians at throwing out time but this soon passed. There are no footpaths for quite a distance from the site entrance to the start of the village and this is a little dangerous - be prepared to dive into the hedgerow or over the bridge parapet!
....and the ducks poo'd on my car.
