Very nice site, short walking distance from Cheddar village. Although as already said it can be somewhat "exciting" if you take the main road route with no footpath. A better route is through the entrance over the river, turn right and under/over the bridge which takes you around the back of the Church a bit longer but much less stressful. The previously mentioned Saturday night music seems to be an all year affair as we visited outside the football season, but was not too bad. It was the church bells which chime every 15 minutes 24 hours a day/night which kept me awake. But at least I knew what time it was 1am, 1:15am, 1:30am. Having said that the toilets and showers were always very clean. The site has a well stocked shop and the owners can't do enough to help out with any queries you might have. Cheddar Gorge is only a short walk away and Cheddar itself has plenty of pubs and other eating places to suit all tastes and pockets. Wells and Wookey Hole are only a short drive with Weston, Brean etc a little further. Overall I would definitely recommend the site, despite the rain leading up to our visit during this year the site was well drained and not the quagmire I was expecting, and the surrounding attractions and countryside mean there is plenty to do.

The campsite was very pleasant. The toilet facilities were clean and well kept, showers were free but were only hot between 7 and 12 and 4 and 9. There was also a bath for campers use. There was a laundry room, £2 for the washing machine and £1 for the tumble dryer, and free use of ironing facilities. Also there was a fridge freezer. There was a small shop on site and they stocked the essentials at a competitive price. There was also Budgens just around the corner. Cheddar itself was beautiful, we did the gorge walk and walked back into the village via the road, it had fantastic views. Pubs and restaurants are pleasant and there is plenty of eating places. We would recommend visiting Cheddar and staying at Cheddar Bridge. We would return.

Lovely little site, nice that it was adults only - it seemed very popular. Facilities were spotless and very good. Cheddar itself is a lovely place, plenty of places to eat, great choice of cuisines and of course not far (walking distance) from the famous Gorge & caves.
My only criticism was the proximity to the road and the football club as they had a very very noisy disco on Saturday night, but hopefully it will soon be the end of the football season so that won't be a problem during the main holiday season.
I agree with previous reviewers that the walk into Cheddar is a little 'hairy' along the road but it didn't stop us venturing out several times over a very pleasant weekend.
I would recommend it, if you are not concerned by a bit of road noise ( we live in 'the sticks' so we found it obtrusive).

Adult only site very close to Cheddar village and Gorge. Dog friendly with fields just outside campsite alongside river. Footpath takes you to the village which has two small supermarkets, cafes, pub, hairdresser etc. And if you walk another 10 minutes you reach the Gorge with plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs. Showers and toilets were good but separate bathroom was a bit grubby. Showerscreen hanging off the wall and the smell of tobacco smoke was awful. Having said that a site with a bath is a big plus point to some. Very convenient site, would use again.

We stayed for three nights over Halloween. Despite the heavy rain a few days earlier the site was not the quagmire I expected given we were right next to the river. Which incidentally is full of fish and I was lucky enough to see a kingfisher.
The toilets and showers were good and remained in a good state of decor despite it being the end of the season. Lots to see and do in Cheddar, We found our way to the Bath Arms, just around the corner, the food was good quality, huge portions and great value.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this peaceful and tranquil site and would return. Our only reservation would be the pitch sizes my guess is it would be a bit cramped in high season when the site is full.

We stayed here over the August Bank Holiday weekend and thought the campsite was lovely. It's quite small, doesn't allow children and has a no noise rule after 11.00pm. The owners were very friendly and this site allows dogs. The showers were always clean, although I did have to queue every morning as there are only 2. However, they are very spacious. The hot water was only available between 7-12 & 4-9 which wasn't great as a shower before bed can really warm your cockles! There were also 3 private basin's in cubilcles and there was a plug for hairdryers and straighteners. The pitch itself was lovely. Just by a river and despite this there wasn't millions of midgis! It is very close to the village of Cheddar - less than a 5 minute walk. Although on occasions you did have to dice with death as the road did not have a footpath, was unlit, on a bend and very narrow! There is a longer route into Cheddar if you wanted to avoid this. Overall glad we have been to Cheddar, although it was much more touristy and commercial than we expected and I doubt we will go back. If we did ever change our minds Cheddar Bridge would definitely be the place we would stay!

This lovely quiet campsite is situated on the outskirts of the village of Cheddar and is within walking distance of the Gorge and all its attractions - including the scenic Mendips. The site itself is equipped with a superbly clean toilet and shower block , however there are limited times as to when the is hot water is available. The proprietors work extremely hard to keep people happy and the park in pristine condition. The site can feel a little cramped when it has its full quota of campers - otherwise , HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !

Had a brilliant week. The weather was a bonus, really hot and sunny. The site was immaculate, showers brilliant, and loads of room for getting dressed/undressed without getting clothes wet. Really peaceful. We had a pitch under the trees, and as we enjoyed it so much we are going back in September and have requested a pitch next to the river. Within walking distance of Cheddar gorge and all that goes with it. All shops and banks you want in village which is a five minute walk. Owners REALLY friendly. Brilliant. Roll on September.

This was an excellent campsite with all the facilities needed, and everything was kept very clean. The showers were really nice and there was lots of room to get dressed without getting your clothes soaked. We had load of room around our tent and were situated by a river. It does say that there are 50 pitches at this site, but it didn't look big enough to me, so I'm not sure whether it would be a bit cramped in high season. The only problem we had was that one night a bunch of people were making a lot of noise until early morning even though there is a big sign up saying ‘strictly no noise after 11.00pm’. Obviously these people can’t read, but that’s not the campsite’s fault. Other than that we really enjoyed our three day stay there, and would definitely go back. Cheddar Gorge is well worth seeing and this is a great campsite to stay at for your visit.

A fantastic site. Went to cheddar to visit the gorge and saw the beautiful entrance to the park. We were a bit apprehensive as it looked so classy and thought we would have to pay the earth to stay there. Low and behold the rates for campers were so cheap for the central Cheddar location. The site itself is immaculate. The shower and toilet block were clean as can be. It has a pretty river alongside. The grass seemed manicured. Very friendly well run site. Will definitely go again
