We have just returned from an extremely enjoyable 5 night stay at Cheddar Bridge. It was our maiden trip in our Motorhome and we were a little nervous to say the least especially as we were towing a motorbike on a trailer too. We needn't have worried as on arrival we were met by the owner and he walked around with us. He basically let us have the pick of the pitches left and said to take the one we thought would suit us best and that we could leave the motorbike on the grass behind the pitch, which was perfect. We had a few teething problems with the Motorhome with it being our first trip and both the owners were really helpful in helping us sort them out. They were extremely friendly and made us very welcome. The thing that struck us most was the feeling of friendliness through the whole site with other seasoned campers who have been to Cheddar Bridge a number of times before making us welcome too. All of the facilities on site are spotlessly clean and a pleasure to use. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this wonderful site to everyone.

I thoroughly recommend this campsite. The owners are incredibly friendly. The even lent us a corkscrew when are broke ours. The toilets are immaculate and warm (the best shower is in the unisex private bathroom) and the site itself is perfectly located to Cheddar Gorge. Shops and pubs are also walkeable. The site itself is clean and pretty with all of the rubbish and water facilities very conveniently located. An excellent choice!

This is the third time we have stayed at this site (which in itself says it all). We only stayed one night on this visit as we were touring the area. I fail to find anything Negative to say about this site. I read that an earlier reviewer had a problem with the heat of the water, not a problem I or the wife have encountered so maybe there was a problem with the plumbing on his visit. The owners are very friendly, so much so when I called though they had arrived back from their holidays only that day & were not opened, they accommodated by allowing us to stay. Will I go again? Most definitely, the location is so convenient for cheddar and the gorge

Just back from Cheddar Bridge was in 'Riverview Apartment' very clean and modern and well equipped all mod cons - made very welcome by owners they told us about the Carnivals going on in various towns we went to North Petherston it was spectacular never seen anything like it before - visited lots of places of interest.

Will definitely be going back around Springtime 2014 hopefully in 'Riverview Apartment'

Just back from two nights here. Chose the site as adults only and close to Cheddar. Pleasant site with 45 touring pitches and a camping field. Well marked pitches with hardstanding and elec, but very varying sizes. Friendly reception, choose own pitch which was fine this time of year (site was about half full) but may be an issue when busy if campervans/motorhomes go off site and return to find pitch occupied. Facilities clean but only two showers/wash basins. Biggest issue was the lack of hot water both evenings. After a day of cycling ad a day of walking a cold shower IS NOT welcome!. ,

Plus was the ease of access to the village and gorge, we didn't move the van while we were there -just used legs and cycles.

If water issues solved (at £19 per night I expect constant hot water, I would return.

Low ratings purely due to hot water issues.

We have just spent an amazing long weekend away in the gypsy wagon; set in beautiful surroundings by the river Yeo, the gypsy wagon was warm and cosy, with a good sized double bed.

The facilities at Cheddar Bridge are fantastic; everything is spotless and in perfect working order. There is even a fridge freezer available for campers / gypsy wagon / pod guests to use.

The site has everything you need for a hassle free trip, and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The owners made us feel very welcome, we will definitely return.

One very wet day we arrived at Cheddar Bridge camp site, we came by motor cycle from a very wet and windy Cornwall, our tent was soaked. It rained all the way and was still raining when we drove over the small bridge onto the campsite.

The couple met us with smiles and we were so lucky that they had a pod free for the one night. The pods are just fab, warm dry and comfy. We got all our gear dried out including ourselves.

While we were there we saw that on site was a gypsy caravan and vowed we would come back to stay in it. We did this just a couple of months later and had a lovely evening and day there.

Only suggestion we would have is that maybe a couple more pods and at least one more gypsy caravan on site.

Great place and very friendly owners.

Thank you we will be coming back later this year.

We are just back from a week at Cheddar Bridge, had a lovely time nice little site with friendly owners. It's location could not be bettered for the gorge, you can walk into the village easily.

The down side is there is only two showers, not that we ever had to queue but in the evening it was a cold shower. Very clean, so clean in fact I spoilt a pair of trousers as there was neat bleach on the floor and I had not realised. When mentioned to the owners of the site they did offer to replace them.

The biggest minus point for us was there was only one chemical point for emptying the loo, and it seemed to be blocked each time we went to empty our loo there. They did have a rod there so you could try and clear it before using it, not that it work all the time.

Pitches were fine, the road through the site was on the narrow side for moving off pitch being hooked up.

Also the tv reception was very hit and miss, we bought a booster while there but that didn't really help.

Would like to use the site again as it was lovely to watch the Kingfisher on the river which runs round the site. But think the other points would have to be sorted first.

This is a lovely site with the Gorge a short 10 min walk away. The owners were friendly and helpful.

The shower block had two showers and a family shower room, all were spacious and kept clean, even though there were only two showers I never had to queue even though the campsite was in the busy season.

The churchbells were not a problem and are much nicer to hear than screeching cars or aeroplanes flying over, we found the site very peaceful and after 5 days there thoroughly relaxed.

If I had to make a criticism it would be on arrival being able to choose your own pitch, it sounds a good idea but we found we had encroached onto another pitch and had to move after already hitching up, we were there at a busy period and did find the pitches a little cramped, but the rest of the site and location made up for any niggles we had.

After picking this site off the internet we were not disapointed with the location or facilities. The showers are one of the most roomy I have seen, there is only 2 but I never had to queue although I think it could do with another 2 for busy times. The staff are more than helpful would certainly book on this site again. There are shops pubs and cafes all within walking distance of the site, the gorge was great.
