June 2005 Just visited Cheddar, an annual visit and the first at this site, it won't be the last. Very pleasent, clean and friendly. Small site but pitches are spacious, flat and tidy. Adults only, which although parents ourselves, was an added bonus (kids have grown up and left home!!) Easy walk into the town, but far enough away not to be bothered by undue noise. First Class..book now!!

March 2005 I used to visit this site when it was called `Church Farm` My! has it changed. The toilet / shower and washing up areas have changed. The old phone box has been moved next to the new fresh / gray water / bin areas. (Not sure what they are going to do with this box ?).
The site is very clean and flat and quiet. The owners are very friendly. The adjoining camp site is a Caravan Club site (the field used to belong to this site). The shops and Cheddar Gorge are only 5 - 10 mins walk (once you have made it across the bridge, there is no footpaths on it) and I would recommend a pint of the Thatchers dry cider, it's flat cloudy but it's very strong - you have been warned!! The gorge and caves are a sight to behold.
I've been visiting this area since 1978 and I would thoroughly recommend it and the new re-vamped site.

September 2004 Not much to add to the reviews already posted here. Lovely picturesque campsite, very well kept and presented. Very easy to find using the comprehensive directions given on their website. Received a friendly welcome on arrival, no hurry to take money from us either, were quite happy to let us pitch up and get organised first which was a refreshing change! Few points of note: As with previous comments we were on the side of the football ground, there was some traffic noise but nothing too unbearable, also a little music but wasn't overly loud and to compensate for this we got to pitch right on the riverbank and had some friendly ducks to keep us company as well as waking up to the sound of the stream which was lovely. The one negative point is that the ground here was extremely stony and quite difficult to pitch in and we were also glad of the air mattress! The campsite is in a great location, about 5 minutes walk from Cheddar Village and approximately halfway between the Gorge and Wookey Hole so good for visiting both. Didn't see much of Wells but what we saw looked nice and we also went down the the Outlet Centre at Street before returning home - not worth the visit, very little of worth there and parking is horrendous! If you are travelling back up the motorway your time would be better spent at Cribbs Causeway outside Bristol. All in all a lovely place to stay, great location and lots to see and do in the area - highly recommended!

July 2004 As previously reported the site is very well maintained and manicured. The pitches are not of a generous size but are well able to take the biggest of caravans and their awnings. For our two man tent and car we could have fit it all in twice. The site is quiet for most of the time but one point to make is if you pitch near the river, on the other side of the river is an access road to the sports ground and another camp site. On some mornings we were woken from our lie in by noisy lorries and vans, but this was a very minor problem. The opposite side of the site is extremely quiet and backs on to a cemetary and church yard, so no noise problems from those inhabitants! The owners were very welcoming and the facilities were top class, probably the best we have come across. Cheddar was as expected and didn't disappoint, would we return to this site?.......you betcha!

May 2004 We stayed at this site for the Whitsun Bank holiday weekend in May 2004. It is a small, adults only site which is very well kept with the best shower / toilet facilities I have ever come across.
The facilities are free to use (except the washing machine) and are clean and spacious. The showers are very large with a separate dressing room. There are only 2 showers which does cause a little queue at peak times and people tend to take longer in the showers because they are so nice. There is also a fridge and a freezer on site that are free to use.
The site is small and well organised. It was full when we went and the pitches are a little small, but fine really. The site is very quiet due to there being no children around.
The site is next door to a football club which I hear can get noisy in the evenings but we didn't hear it at all.
The site is a 2 minute walk from a Supermarket, a pub/restaurant and an indian restaurant / take away. If you walk on a further 5 minutes you reach the Cheddar high street which has several pubs, restaurants, tea shops, gift shops and take aways. We would recommend the White Hart Inn which is slightly off the beaten track but serves fantastic food and wonderful local cider (don't drink too much, it's lethal) in a really friendly, local atmosphere.
Cheddar is a fantastic base for touring around Somerset and we cannot recommend the city of Wells too highly. Really beautiful cathedral with the oldest working original clock in the world. Loads of shops, inns and restaurants and cheap to park for the day.
Glastonbury and Street are also very near (Street is well known for it's massive discounted retail park called Clarks Village).
Lovely site, nice people and great area. Could recommend it more really.

April 2004 weekend Owners were lovely people, enjoyed our stay very much and would definately come again if in the area. Try pitching away from the Football club building which is just on the other side of the river. There was a very loud disco there on Saturday until midnight. The site is right next to the church so we had a lovely wake up call on Sunday morning ;-)). Otherwise a very well organised site, 5 min walk from Cheddar, which was everything we expected and more!

August Bank Hol week Not much I can add to the previous review! A beautiful site pity it’s only open to families for August. Facilities are brilliant - free showers, hot water for washing up, fridge/freezer for campers use, washing machine available (there is a charge}, free fishing in the river that runs though the site what more could you ask for!!! The site has to be well organised as it’s only small but we had plenty of room to pitch our 8 man tunnel and 2 pup tents. The owners are really friendly and run a lovely clean site we will definitely visit again and would strongly recommend this site.

August 2003 New owners very friendly and welcoming. Facilities (showers etc. ) in excellent condition and must be nearly new. Good flat grassy site so easy to pitch. Site surrounded by high trees on which gives shelter. River Yeo runs along site. Site well laid out though perhaps a little too well organised if you like a more naturalised setting.
Lovely site for exploring the area. Much to do within walking distance - pubs restautrants, local shops etc. Cheddar Gorge is quite dramatic.
Wookey Hole further away was a good day out. Go early to avoid aschool parties/bus trips.
Site is adults only excepts in August - useful to know.
Budgens supermarket within 5 minutes walk.
