We had a last minute booking and stayed for 3 nights. Main toilet block with showers were very clean and although there were only 2 showers in the ladies there was never a queue. Toilet in tent field was always clean and had hand soap. Very flat site that ran along a stream and kept very neat with short grass. Staff were friendly and always available to help in any way. Small shop on site sold flagons of local cider, cream teas and all the usual basics. Only 5 min walk to local pub serving nice food and pub garden to rear alongside a stream. The only thing I would say the site needs is a shower in the tent field, as the showers are through the caravan field. Would definitely visit again.

Visited this site on a 3 day stopover on way back from Cornwall. Site entrance is over ancient stone bridge which is a bit tight with caravan, especially as we were leaving as there were several cars coming in as we were going out not much space to manoeuvre. Pitches are a bit small just enough room for caravan and car if you put awning up car will have to go in front of van making it awkward for anyone trying to pitch close by. Toilets and showers are ok only 2 showers but plenty of space. It is a 20 min walk into cheddar with plenty of pubs, shops and cafes.

Our first visit to this site. What a pleasant experience from start to finish. Well placed, facilities excellent, never had a problem with toilets or showers - I was alone everyday between 0730 and 0800. Booking by email was simple as was booking in on arrival and offered choice of pitch. Only slight down were some dog owners who assume that everyone likes dogs! I shall be back again.

This site is fab! Great location for dog walks along the river and evenings spent in dog friendly pubs in the centre of Cheddar, which is a 10 minute walk away. There are also a couple of pubs on the way to the Centre of the village if you don't fancy walking too far and a great Indian restaurant. There is a gate to the side of the touring area onto the footpath which takes you into the village, or you can walk down the road, but some bits don't have pavement.
We arrived on site and were offered a choice of several pitches, either grass or hardstanding. The touring and tenting areas are separate, with the tenting area backing onto the footpath and the church! It is a beautiful setting though, with plenty of space if you can adjust to the bells - we didn't hear them. There is also a cabin housing a loo at the entrance to the tenting area.
The entrance to the site is a tad tight for touring newbies but we were ok! The whole site is wonderfully maintained, with hanging baskets etc. The main facilities are near to reception and were always lovely, clean and warm. There is also an information hut with a nice touch of vending machine for midnight munchies lol

What a wonderful week away, this is one camp site I and my partner highly recommend. We had a large tent with a separate kitchen tent. Electric hook up for the fridge. Job done!
The site itself is very flat, excellent facilities, very clean award winning toilets etc. Laundry room and on site camp shop.
Cheddar Gorge is about a twenty minute walk depending on pace, the cave are great and there are enough local shops and pubs to keep you stocked.
Tesco or Budgens very close for local shopping trips so this saves having to hump all your food for the week to the camp site from home.

Stayed for 3 nights in June and have nothing but good things to say about this site. Owners are helpful and friendly, we had a choice of pitches and chose one alongside the river for a completely relaxing break.
Toilet / showers were always clean and small shop at reception very handy for cider and scones!
Site is ideally placed for village and only a short drive to many places of interest.
If in the area we will definitely book here again.

Fabulous site with very friendly and helpful owners. The facilities are excellent and kept spotless and the small toilet facilities at the entrance to the tent field very welcome.
The location is ideal as it is only a short walk to the village and all of the shops etc. although you are well advised to walk there via the footpath on the old railway line as you take your life in your hands if you walk via the main road.
We had a very enjoyable 7 nights camping and will certainly recommend to friends and will definitely visit again

I visited this site after reading the reviews, but was disappointed.
The entrance is lovely, the owners helpful and the surrounding area is delightful.
The site may be suffering from over use and looks tired, toilets cleaned once a day are nice but soon get crowded with queues soon forming for showers and toilets.
The grassed areas have large patches of dead grass and our pitch had holes where someone had got stuck in a car.
It is a 50 pitch site but the person on the next pitch counted 69 caravans and tents one day.
It also suffers from the noise from the adjoining social club, we had three nights of noise, one night until after midnight.
We also suffered from people letting their dogs bark uncontrolled, this did seem to be the people on seasonal pitches. This could be a lovely site with a little TLC.

This is a lovely clean well established site set in picturesque surroundings on the river Yeo. With no noise between 11pm and 8am you are guaranteed a quiet nights sleep too.
Great for visiting Cheddar Gorge (we walked it) and Wookey Hole, not forgetting Wells and its beautiful cathedral. If you want the beach and seaside towns Burnham-on-sea, Brean and Weston-super-mare are all nearby.
This site is no1 as far as we are concerned. Well done all round to the owners who are always ready to help and advise you.

We stayed on this site for 6 days as our grandson was in a bmx competition in the area. We were quoted £36 a night at some sites and this was £12 so we were delighted.
Only one gripe and I hate to do it as everything else was perfect and that was that it only had 2 showers and a bathroom shower. I normally get an evening shower but the racing didn't finish till late on the saturday so went for a morning shower. First visit they were all full. Left it for half an hour and went back and they were all full again.
All in all though a brilliant site.
