We booked this site last minute. Com and wow what a Gem of a place. It is so well kept the shower room and toilets were spot less. It is close to the local village and attractions. There was one pub that stood out and was a great place to have food n a tipple which was the Riverside which also gave you free parking as long as you had a drink there at the end of the day. If you have the bonus of being there on a Sunday the is a big car boot/ market just up the road.

Will we visit again mmmmmmmmmmmm

Hell yes you bet ur bottom dollar we will

Thank you to the owners n staff at Cheddar Bridge we had a great time

We picked this site as it is adults only and also as it is walking distance to cheddar gorge. When you arrive there is a very narrow bridge to go over stream we made it but not suitable for large motorhomes. The reception area is very pretty with flowers, we could pick our own pitch they are all quite small and not easy to get on with a large vehicle if they had all been occupied, some areas were a bit overgrown and could be made much tidier. There is no tv signal. Wifi available but not cheap. Toilets and showers ok but never seen them cleaned. Drain to empty water tank if you have extension pipe. Good for walking. If this site was full it would feel very cramped.

We have just spent a perfect weekend at Cheddar Bridge. We had hoped to book the Gypsy Wagon but booked a pod when it was unavailable.

The pod is very simple - a little like camping an the garden shed- but I imagine it will really come into its own in cold or wet weather making it perfect for winter camping.

Not quite sure why it costs £35 per night as you have to bring everything you would for camping, except the tent.

We were lucky enough to have our second night in the Gypsy Wagon when somebody else cancelled and the owners of the site were kind enough to let us swap, so our weekend was complete.

Overall the site is lovely. Peaceful, clean, friendly and just 10 mins walk from the Gorge.

There is free hot water for washing up, and good clean showers and toilets.

We had a very pleasant evening in The Galleries pub where the beer and food are both good and reasonably priced. The landlord is particularly welcoming and knowledgeable about local breweries and the beverages he sells.

Cheddar bridge touring park is a small pleasant site with very business like owners, we were able to select our own pitch which I thought was great because there was a few to choose from not so good if the site would have been busier. Our pitch was quite roomy but some others were small. Facilities were clean and well kept, hot water wasn't available on a couple of occasions during our weeks holiday, we did think that the facilities on site were stretched when the site was full.

There is a Budgens supermarket in walking distance plus tea shops pubs and restaurants all very close, Cheddar itself was disappointing, spoilt by being over commercialised and a little tacky in places, the gorge was breath taking with lots of nice walks.

The highlight of the week was incidentally just across the road and to the left of the campsite THE SITTING ROOM tea shop which was delightful serving a vegetarian menu, two wonderful ladies Chris and Elaine serving up all home cooked food to die for in a wonderful relaxed and friendly atmosphere, we would recommend a visit. Try the Welsh rarebit FANTASTIC.

We would return to this site again.

I would fully recommend this site, the facilities were of very high standards, toilets showers were very clean and warm. The garden areas were beautifully kept.

We had family that stayed in the pods and gypsies vans, they too were very pleased with the site. Walking distance to main high Street plenty of shops\pub, near the caves too. And staff very friendly.

Stayed for 4 nights, only fault is that we couldn't stay longer. We are definitely going back again this year.

Well done to cheddar bridge keep it up.

Well This is the third time we have visited this site, and found this visit to be every bit as enjoyable as the first. I was a little worried after reading some of the latest reviews that standards may have slipped, but I can honestly say that if anything they have improved. OK maybe the time of year we visited was quiet so the showers were not the issue that they may be in busy times, but as far as we were concerned we would DEFINITELY go back, as the site and location by far outway this,

only one downside and this is of no fault of the owners is the church bells, as stated in earlier posts they can if you let them become annoying, ringing through the night, like I say we cannot hold the site owners responsible for the local church

Our arrival was very stressful and upsetting. We were shown a map with 3 places available and to choose where we wanted to go. We chose a pitch and started to erect our caravan. Only to have the neighbour claiming it as part of her pitch. We had to rehitch and move to the top part of the site under the trees. It would be better that you are shown to your pitch so there cannot be any misunderstandings. If you have a pitch under the trees don't expect any sun all day long, which was the case with us. The showers etc were very good, It was nice to be able to walk to Cheddar Gorge for a meal and a drink. We visited several National Trust Properties while we were in the area.

Things we liked – Charming, well organised, clean & friendly site, within easy walking distance of Cheddar gorge & village.

Things we did not like – Lack of showers, the church clock tower bells seem to chime every quarter hour 24/7

Would we go back? – Yes but only for short stays

Location - On the A371, south east side of Cheddar, next to the Caravan Club Site

Pitches - Most of the pitches are level, the camping field is separated to the rear of the site, the touring field is a mix of grassed pitches & gravel, with various sizes available.

Toilets / Showers – Very clean & reasonably well maintained, The site has 2 male & 2 female showers + a family/disabled room which is not a lot for 65 pitches (we queued every morning) The showers has plenty of water at a good temperature.

Facilities – Basic supplies from the shop, In door washing up areas, gas bottle exchange

Staff – Friendly, welcoming & helpful

WI-FI – We did not use the WI-FI, But £12 for a week is not a bad price.

Bar / Food – None on site

TV Reception – Very good signal, no problems

Fishing – The river runs right past the site, but it was pretty low, an alternative would be Cheddar reservoir is stocked with match fish & costs £6 per day.

Out & About – Cheddar gorge & show caves, Wookey hole (caves), Fleet air museum, Haynes motor museum, City of Bath, Wells cathedral, Longleat wildlife park, Clarkes shopping village, Glastonbury town & the coast is only 15 miles away

Very nice site with excellent toilets and showers. A little cramped in the hard-standing pitches area but perfectly adequate. The footpath into the centre of Cheddar itself was an excellent bonus and only a short distance. For us the most frustrating thing was definitely the chiming of the church bells next door, every 15 minutes 24/7. We were just drifting off to sleep when they woke us again and again. You might ignore them in a caravan or motorhome, but in a tent they are a total 'waking nightmare'.

We booked this site in February this year and as we were travelling with friends we asked for pitches together and not near trees, we were told that was no problem at all. We also spoke to the owners before setting off from home to confirm everything was in order however, when we arrived we discovered that pitches are not allocated ready for arrival it was a case of find your own.

Finding 2 together away from trees was very difficult. Also the pitches are of varying sizes and some are very tight for even average sized outfits. However as you choose your own pitch we saw very small camper vans/trailer tents/caravans without awnings etc on very large pitches leaving others cramped and with nowhere to park a car.

Our friends ended up under a very large tree so spent a week with limited sunlight.

We were in a very small pitch so much so that we had to use the motor mover to get the caravan up to the fence on one side and when we put the awning up it was an inch away from the opposite fence meaning we had nowhere to sit outside and what to do with the car?

Having said that the owners are very welcoming and friendly, the toilets and showers are spotless with plenty of hot water. As the site is adult only it was very quiet and relaxed.

The position is good, it's just a short walk to into Cheddar, although walking on the main road is very precarious as there is no pavement over a narrow bridge, it's best to take the longer but safer footpath accessed at the back of the site.

We tried to enjoyed our stay but we were disappointed as explained already.
