Our first ever caravan trip in a brand new Van. We chose this site because we could have a fully serviced pitch and it was not too far from Derbyshire. Also, all the amenities were there and dogs are allowed. Having just arrived safely home and filled with excitement for the next trip, I can't praise the site enough. It was beautifully landscaped, the pitches were tastefully screened, yet not too enclosed. The toilets and showers were spotless and very modern. Loads of walks for the dog around the fishing lakes which seemed very popular with anglers. A small shop for essentials and restaurant and bar too. Lovely staff and the visitors seemed friendly. No kids anywhere either (sorry parents, we don't all love screaming children). Everything was perfect, and because everything was to hand, we could concentrate on fiddling with the caravan. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and Melton Mowbray was a nice little town. If the weather was fine, which it wasn't ! Hey ho. Please don't change anything EKL.

We were looking for a site to stay a few nights and do a bit of fishing on our way home from the Isle of Wight, this site was recommended to us by a local angler whilst we were at another site and we were not disappointed. On arrival we were informed about the site, what was on each night at the club house and given various leaflets about the site and surrounding area. The complex has 7 lakes of various sizes, containing many freshwater species, lake 2 is the recommended lake for large carp. The site facilities are exceptional, toilets and showers are housed in individual log cabins and are the best I've seen on any camp site. The pitches are spacious, ours was one positioned around the ornamental lake which is a nice feature. There are all the local shops in the nearby town of Melton Mowbray.

Just returned after a week at this fantastic place. This is one of my favourite sites which I visit at least twice a year. The facilities are out of this world. The staff are so friendly there is always a smile and a good morning/afternoon. The only downside was the lack of wifi as it was only available in the clubhouse but they have now installed wifi on the site. The owners listen and act on customers feedback which is the reason the site is so popular.

This is without a doubt our favourite site. Set in beautiful surroundings the site has numerous fishing lakes. The fully serviced pitches are very spacious and overlook a beautiful lake. Great for dog owners, can take them into the bar area where they serve lunch and lovely homemade cakes. Entertainment normally on a Saturday night. There are also some lovely log cabins. Staff very friendly, only downside is book well in advance, but this is to be expected, you will not be disappointed.

A very well thought out site. First class toilet facilities. A bar on site were breakfast is served it also has a good dog waking park set aside. The side is very clean and tidy. And we will be returning very soon as soon as we get a small car to tow behind the Motorhome so we can go and explore the little towns nearby.

Thank you for a lovely stay. The facilities are excellent and the attention to detail made our long weekend very comfortable: even down to the warm water in the hose used for washing off dirty dogs. The shower facilities were comparable to a hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming, nothing was to much trouble. We shall be returning and will recommend this lovely site to others.

Wonderful site, immaculately clean all round. Very quiet adult only, private site with lovely walks round the lakes with the dogs. The facilities are very impressive, everything has a feeling of substance with lots of natural wood. The individual shower rooms are very roomy with a toilet, wash basin, enclosed shower, and an ante room with a bench, hairdryer and shaving point. The shower rooms are also heated and have piped music. The clubhouse is very welcoming and there is a small selection of items in a shop area, and fresh baked bread and cakes.
In the centre of the site there is a huge ornamental pond with a fountain and picnic seating situated round it.
All of the pitches have electric hook up AND their own water tap, brilliant idea, no more traipsing an aqua roller to the nearest tap.
The only con if anything is that the dish washing/laundry facilities are only at one side of the site, and is a short walk from where we were pitched. But not a complaint in any way.
The pitches are mainly hard standing and gravel, so you will need rock pegs if you have an awning
Will definitely be returning here in the near future.

We arrived New Years day to a very quiet full campsite, seems the New Years eve party was really good and everyone was having a quiet day 👍
We had a lovely few day here, best site we have used so far.
Toilets/ showers were excellent, very clean/tidy and warm.
Nice walks around the fishing lakes.
Had breakfast in the lodge 2 mornings, very nice and reasonable prices.
Melton Mowbray a short drive way, we visited on the Saturday and there was a good market, and of course had to buy some pork pies.
We loved this site and have booked to visit again later in the year, would highly recommend.

I would agree with all the great comments. This site is an outstanding adults only site. It has everything you could want in a site. In particular I have to mention the staff who are all so lovely and cheerful. The breakfast in the clubhouse was delicious and we had a great evening on Saturday night listening to the live music in the bar. A fantastic young couple called Present Day. What a fabulous evening. You couldn't ask for more on your weekend away in your caravan/motorhome. We'd highly recommend this site. We will definitely visit again.

We chose this site on the morning of the day we wanted to travel as a very last minute decision to go away for a couple of days. Fortunately they could accommodate us and we arrived about 1pm. For the people who reviewed this site earlier, if this was your first ever trip out, then other sites will pale into insignificance after staying here! We have been caravanning for 10years and have stayed at many sites but this site surpasses all others. Lovely staff in the clubhouse, immaculately kept fishing lakes(although on this occasion, my other half didn't fish), pristine pitches and, best of all, the AMAZING shower 'pods. ' Beautiful self contained rooms with everything in one area, warm, comfortable and with Chris Evans being piped into your shower at 9am. Well, what more could you ask for?! Having read previous reviews, all of it I agree with. You will not be disappointed! Well done EKL.
